I am a long time member. I miss the personal blogs and the feeds showing friends status and posts but realized I can post updates here. Also my About Me has disappeared and yet it says not much happening here. Well that is because it has been deleted. So to start off I just retired and my 1st goal is to get healthier and fitter than I was able to get working fulltime. I have lost about 5 lbs, I had really gotten weak. Today I walked 30 minutes and I have been getting in more NEAT. I find it isn't so much how much I eat but what I eat that helps me and exercise helps too.

  • Actually with all my posts I didn't get to mention how my week went. It was a pretty good week. I got exercise in each weekday - 2 sunny long walks, 2 strength training sessions and a shorter walk the other day. I have stayed under my calorie goal. However tonight should be a higher calorie meal since we are celebrating my…
  • @AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Good job maintaining when things were not ideal to lose. @speyerj your coming and posting here even once you met you goal has been a gift to many of us. @spotteddingo I am so sorry you lost your mother in that way and it would have an impact on how one feels about food. Thanks for sharing your…
  • I have read almost all of your posts but felt like I needed to go ahead and post these replys. Thanks @RavenStCoud January was so, so long (it felt like 3-4 months long) but February went by so fast. I hope with March time will return to normal. One of the reasons this group works is how you set it up @goal06082021 I…

  • If you have side effects they are usually on the day after the shots.
  • Well I read your posts. I didn't quite wait a month to check in and February is short too. It was fun remembering the snow again. Well I started to lose some of the pounds I gained when I started working fulltime again then my scale started dying on us. Of course the new one weighs me over 6 lbs more than the old one. I…
  • My son lives in Texas and insulated his pipes but a underground water line burst. He luckily had power most of the time.
  • I have been getting some pretty risque friend request from women recently. Of course I don't accept. I have some great friends on here that are men but most came from threads of were friends of others I knew.
  • I enjoyed the snow when it was here. I always go cross country skiing down our street when we get a lot. This year I took a walk in the snow with my husband and went cross country skiing too. Loved it.
  • I had a great thread on here before that was going strong. I decided to turn it into a group and it slowly died out.
  • Hello all. Many of you are familiar from other threads. I actually have been looking for a thread like this for a while. I lost 40 lbs on MFP when I 1st joined before the last economic downturn but gained it back when I went back to work. I lost 20 pounds last year during the pandemic when I was on furlough but got a new…
  • Lots of people were posting when I was and I missed their posts! @BeastlyMaple It looks like you have a pretty healthy lifestyle. I think you will have lots of success. @MuttiNM I wonder how you feel about your diet or what you eat. Is it sustainable in the long run? In other words do you get some joy in your meals…

  • Thursday I got my 2nd vaccination. I was supposed to get it last Sunday but the extreme weather events here and over the country delayed the shipments of vaccines and my appointment was cancelled then rescheduled. It isn't till the next day that you can have side effects besides maybe a sore arm. I woke up feeling fine…

  • Well I have read your posts and realized that is another reason it is a good day. I got on here and didn't just log my food but checked in here as well: @mumof6sv I am sorrow about Friday. I hope your daughter gets better soon. Great job finding a way to keep getting exercise despite setbacks and adjusting to a difficult…
  • Finally had a good day today so far. I am on track for water. I exercised for 45 minutes, I got in my flights of stairs. So far I am having a low calorie day with oatmeal and leftover tortilla soup. Dinner planned is healthy too.
  • @AlexandraFindsHerself Your valentine’s day sounds nice. My Mom has a birthday that day too. My daughter put our overgrown kittens on leashes and let them play in the snow for a few minutes. @jennordhavn I was thinking about an overnight at a hotel on Valentines Day too but then we decided that we weren’t going to risk it…
  • Goals for the rest of February: To get back to the weight that my old scale said so that I am under 250 by new scale. Which will be a loss of over 6 lbs.* Get 8+ glasses of water, log in calories daily, get enough sleep and stay under my calorie goal. * Up N.E.A.T. (steps, stairs, cleaning and cooking) * Get regular…
  • Not only does my new scale weigh me 5 lbs more than my last one but it apparently only goes in one direction - up. However since I was having issues with logging food this week we might not want to put all the blame on it. It was a short work week. I didn't get as much exercise. I did better by the end of the week when I…
  • @wanderinglight a few years ago we got adopted by a Norwegian forest cat. We got him a house and heat pad and fed him but soon he worked his way into the family and was an indoor - outdoor cat. He was one of my top 2 favorite cats ever. I am 67 and have known quite a few. Good for you for saving Patches. She is adorable.…
  • This is the 3rd day of snow here and I mean snow. We have had over a foot which is a lot for us. Typically ever 5-10 years we have a big snow and usually have snow every other year but we had a few big snows last winter too. We didn't stock up for this one but were able to find makings for spaghetti last night and chicken…
  • Gong Hei Fat Choi 恭喜發財 Last night we got take out Chinese food in celebration of the Lunar/Chinese New Year. What we should have done was go to the grocery store to stock up for snow. However we have enough to get by. We had just come to the end of the meals I had planned and the related groceries. So no planned meals or…
  • I seem to be making it here at least once a month now that I am working full-time again. I got the 1st dose of the vaccine and am due for the next in a few more weeks. This weekend we had to replace our bathroom scale and it is showing me 5 lbs heavier than our last one which we knew weighed us a pound heavier than the one…
  • Sorry, I have a new goal for the future based on my experience this weekend and the past. Get to onderland before I have to get a new scale. In fact get to at least 195 so that if the new scale weighs me 5 lbs higher I am still at, near or below 200 lbs.
  • last weekend our youngest who is a young adult who lives with us decided we were going to clean out the fridge. It feels very nice knowing what food is there and having space for things you want and need.
  • @goal06082021 Good idea about portioning the snack mix. Glad your shoulder feels better. So is mine. I actually don’t respond to every post but I do try and read them all. I respond if something positive comes to mind. @JJKM73 glad you decided to participate. I really want to get back in the pool too. Gyms are open but I…
