I'd like in please! :)

I am 5'6" and my ultimate goal weight is 120-130 :) I really think it heavily depends on the person, though. Some people carry weight a lot better than others... your body frame can also be a factor, I have a medium body frame.

I always thought losing weight would make me a lot more confident but I was dead wrong. I spent so much time focusing on how I hated my body at the moment, but it would get better because I was losing weight.. I've lost 15 pounds so far and my self confidence has never been so low in my life. And it's for no other reason…

I've always been literally the most out of shape person I know but today I ran for 10 minutes straight :) A few months ago I couldn't even run for 60 seconds without having to stop.

Absolutely -- my number one rule is to avoid deprivation. Most of the time though I try to go for healthier alternatives -- homemade potato chips if I'm craving something salty, fruit pops or frozen yogurt for something sweet, etc. And then I find, when I accidentally binge on the unhealthier things, like bagged potato…

We purposefully raised these animals for the sole purpose of slaughter. If we stopped raising them for food, these 'domesticated' animals wouldn't exist. There would only be wild ones.
-
YES!!! I definitely agree. The Native Americans used every single part of the bison they hunted. They respected the creature. They let it live its natural life and used it only when it was necessary to them, and even then used every part of it.
-
I definitely agree with this! There's a difference between surviving on wild animals that actually got to experience life as it should have been, and raising animals in factories for the sole purpose of slaughter.
-
I think it would be different if your dogs had to survive by eating wild animals... I think then the instincts would kick in.
-
True, however that still is different than attacking a cow and ripping it to shreds with your bare hands and canines and devouring it... internal organs, muscles, tendons, blood and all. On the contrary, I find that the only reasons we're okay with eating some animals and not others is because of how society views it now.…

You're right, and that's what it all comes down to -- money. If we all suddenly went vegan many jobs would be lost. But at the same time, many jobs I would think would begin to be gained in other industries. Vegans have to replace their meat intake with something else. So whatever that is, as demand goes down for meat and…

I'm sorry, what? o_o It's not about superiority at all -- if something's posing a danger to me I'm not going to stand there and let it hurt me, the same way that if I seemed to be a threat to a cat it would hiss at me and bite me to keep me away from it. It's an instinct, to protect yourself.
-
Hahaha. If you were starving and you had the choice between killing a pig with your bear hands and canines and eating its raw flesh and organs and blood and whatnot, and eating a carrot out of the ground, I'm pretty sure you would choose the carrot.
-
That's different, because they pose a danger to us, they are a threat. If I was out camping with you and you were being attacked by a bear I wouldn't be like "Aw hell naw, I'm vegan man! I'm not going to lay a FINGER on that bear even though it's about to kill you!!" (Quoting Gary Yorovsky) If something's posing a threat…

Yes, but when you look at a pig do you imagine eating tearing it apart and eating it raw, blood, tendons, muscles, organs and all? That's what all other carnivores do. But to humans, the idea of killing an eating an animal raw on the spot is just mortifying.

Perhaps 'convert' wasn't the right word -- his blog exposes the harsh truth of what goes on in the meat and dairy industries. People have discovered his blog and discovered the truth and have decided to go vegan. It's not like he pressured his beliefs on them, that's not what I was trying to say, but I guess it came out…

When a carnivore is hungry, and it sees an animal bouncing past it, yes, it's instinct is to kill it and eat it. It's survival for carnivores. That's how they live. That's why they have that instinct. I don't think that's a fair comparison either because it's not your instinct to kill it and rip it to shreds with your…

This is the argument someone else just threw at me -- let me quote what I said to them for you...
-
That's the main argument I hear, but it's also been proven that a vegan diet is honestly like 100x healthier than the typical diet with red and white meats incorporated. There's been extensive research done. A true vegan's chance of cancer, heart failure, obesity etc. are slim to none. Doesn't that say something about our…

I don't know... I was just about the biggest meat eater in the world. Loved it. Loved the taste. Ate steak all the time. That's just how I grew up. And after discovering the truth, I went vegetarian (and now vegan). A friend of mine has converted 30 meat-eaters to vegan himself. The veg population IS growing.
-
Alright, then, tell me this -- all true carnivores, along with much larger canines than ours, also have an instinct to kill. Every time you see a squirrel hop past you, is your first instinct to chase after it, tear it apart with your bear hands and canines and pick it clean off its bones?
-
Not a fact, an opinion -- many people get sick to their stomach at the mere thought of eating another animal's flesh. You're obviously too ignorant to put up a good argument, so you go to the typical meat-eater response -- "it tastes good so YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID." there are plenty reasons for teens not to have sex --…

except that's entirely different because your cat didn't mass breed birds for the sole purpose of slaughter, torturing them, injecting them with all kinds of chemical ****, including growth hormones that cause their legs to break right under their weight... honestly torture them to death, carelessly, just for fun,…
-
I am TOTALLY on the same boat with you girl!! Like, COMPLETELY. And everyone says that animals are part of the food chain... but... 1. If you look at a human's body vs. a carnivore's body (an animal that is SUPPOSED to eat other animals) we are not equipped to eat meat... much longer intestinal tract... no canines (don't…

I really feel sorry for you and I hope you find a way to get past this negative mindset and this need to shoot down other people, many of whom have been through depression themselves. all the best xo
-
I would like to add something to my previous post... I think it's very sad that you came to this forum asking for help and yet you shoot down the help that your peers are trying to give you. I have been where you are now. I really have. In better times in my life, I thought that people with 'depression' were just feeling…
-
I became very depressed earlier this year... and I never believed in medication. I just wanted to deal with it myself. I always thought that if I just could get through this bump in the road things would get better, or that I was completely in control of my happiness -- which I do believe is true, for people without a…

Yes! I'm a 34 D and not only is that bra size freakin' IMPOSSIBLE to find but junior shirts never fit me right. So I'm hoping when I lose the weight I'll have B or C cup.

The only opinion of yourself that matters is YOURS :) people will always want to give you their opinion on yourself, many times to make themselves feel better, but in the end, your view of yourself is what matters.

I've always hated how I looked. And I've yo-yo dieted since 8th grade, but since sophomore year started for me in 2010, I pretty much stopped caring about my weight. Put it on the back-burner, I suppose. That 2011 school year, I wore a size 11 prom dress and it was loose on me. I wore a size 13 prom dress this past April…
