Yes I've had IBS for nearly 20 years now and I'm only 32. Yuck! For me, stress is a constant trigger, other than that, I don't really know what will trigger an attack. Things that seem to trigger it one day, don't the next. Things that work to prevent an attack, don't work the next, even meds. Junk food, cheese, and large…

I say, if you don't like oatmeal, don't eat it!! However, if you would like to try eating it again, I like the quick oats. I find the instant has a weird soupy texture that I can't stand which is probably why I hated it for the first 32 years of my life. I cook mine 1part oatmeal: 1 part water. Then I add 1 TBLS almond…

I totally LOL'd on this one! I obviously have the same problem....I know I'm fat but I don't think I'm as fat as I am! Going back a couple of years I was on vacation with my then boyfriend. We went to Key West and were on a sunset cruise. We happened to be on a boat where a couple was getting married. The JoP was hounding…

My goal weight is definitely high for my height, I'm 5ft and my goal is 145lbs. There were 2 reasons I picked that weight: I've lost weight a few times before and that weight seems to be the weight my body has maintained the easiest and longest. Right now I'm disabled and don't get around much at all so I have to be…

I lost quite a bit of weight while I was in grad school (about 30lbs I believe). It required me packing my meals - all of them! - and getting to school at 6a everyday to exercise. It wasn't easy, but I did it and I believe you can too! Working out in the mornings gave me energy for the day and I learned to love to run…

OMG! We must be twins....I used to eat it daily. I can't just have a little...I need to eat the whole box!!!! It's so good. And I do not like homemade mac and cheese nearly as much....it's not the same. Nom nom nom

I'm fairly certain I would consume my own left leg one week before TOM arrives if I could. I eat EVERYTHING.....I just try my hardest to make as many good choices as I can and I know crap is going to sneak in. I make sure to log absolutely everything no matter how embarrassing it may be. I try to ignore the cravings as…

If you aren't already, make sure you are determining your calorie intake by using an "active" setting.

As long as your doctor agrees I think it's absolutely wonderful! I did a half marathon several years ago after not being able to run 0.25miles. You've given yourself plenty of training time so that's a big plus. It will be tough but will be so worth it! Good luck :flowerforyou:

I've relapsed several times. This time I vow it to be different (we'll see lol). I think the other times I've dieted I cut things out and restricted myself a lot so it wasn't sustainable. The second I started eating my old favorites a) I couldn't control myself and b) I gained all the weight back. This time I am trying to…

It may sound odd but is really good: Pumpkin Oatmeal :-) Make your oatmeal with a 1:1 oatmeal:water ratio. Add a 1/4-1/3C pumpkin puree and cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. Serve drizzled with a bit of maple syrup. Yum, yum!!

I'm 32 and have a pixie! I keep my bangs a bit longer in the front to cover my forehead. Go for it!!

If the surgeon is recommending weight loss, he should be able to refer you to a NUTRITIONIST. Many health plans cover the cost of seeing a nutritionist. Check out what your health plan covers and make sure the doctor gives you the name of a licensed nutritionist not a weight loss scheme. Good luck!! :flowerforyou:

It's really, really easy to prepare veggies. A stir-fry is a go-to meal for me. Sometimes I buy the bagged frozen stir fry and sometimes I mix my own fresh veggies. I put a bit of water (or olive oil) in a skillet, add the veggies and just let them go! I honestly prefer my veggies a little more on the over-cooked side, but…

First off 24lbs is awesome so don't feel down about that accomplishment in any way! Secondly, I know I am a person who CANNOT see when people lose weight. I do not notice at all! On the plus side, I also can't see when people gain weight  You would be surprised at the number of people with this same problem - YOU…

Our weight can be fixed, but stupid is forever!!!!! I'm sorry you went through that. When I was thin, I used to run and I would get obnoxious comments all the time out car windows like "Run Forrest Run!!". Of course most of the time I had headphones on so I would just see them point and laugh. Whatever....I was out there…

I was a daily weigh-er until I realized it was doing more harm than good. I didn't flip out if the scale went up or anything but just looking back at it now, I was having trouble figuring out a legitimate loss versus dehydration or legitimate weight gain vs water weight. Now, I weigh myself a couple of times a week -…

Step one done: your here!! I made a few half hearted attempts at first as well. I didn't make any friends and just basically used the app on my phone as a glorified calorie counter. I found that now I've made friends I feel a little more accountable to them to be on here regularly and encourage THEM on! I recommend finding…
