  • This was mentioned already, but is totally worth mentioning again, is that you're going to have bad days. Don't let one bad choice, derail your whole goal. We have to forgive ourselves and move on. :)
  • I love my veggie noodler thingy <--- technical name of course! It's the handheld kind not the Paderno one that sits out on the counter. My little handheld makes amazing long strings of squash! Makes me so happy lol
  • I'm active on here and willing to support you. I can't say I'm in the exact same boat but I constantly rant to my family about the evils of processed foods with a bowl of Kraft mac and cheese in my hands ;-) I am trying to eat clean(ish) as I like to call it and would be happy to support you. This is my second time back -…
  • ^ THIS!!!!! We don't walk around with flashing neon sides on our heads with our weight posted on them. It sounds like even pounds wise you aren't that far away from goal and without losing any weight have lost something like 23 inches? I'd say what you're doing is working (except you need more veggies ;-)
  • I'm 33 never married - although I do live with my partner and no kids with no desire to have any. We're all different - it's what makes the world go round :-)
  • Thank you for all your info :-) I feel I'm pretty confident in what I'm going to do now. I'm hoping that I have the success you talked about rad. My diet is relatively clean to begin with so I'm sure my results will be more moderate but you never can tell! Did you/ will you log your food while on the plan? I'm leaning…
  • The Whole 30 is an elimination diet that attempts to reset your body and its reactions to foods. As well as reset your habits - e.g. lessening your sugar intake and snacking. It eliminates "inflammatory promoting" foods. You're absolutely right Jon and normally I try to eat veggie meals with beans as a protein source but…
  • You probably have already done this for Candida, but if not you should. Immediately. Like yesterday ;-) Stop eating processed foods!!! I too have a Candida overgrowth resulting from long term antibiotic use - it can't be helped. I'm allergic to all anti-fungals so I'm SOL on that. Once I stopped eating processed foods, the…
  • I'm over my sugar EVERY DAY and I'm diabetic BUT rarely does anything processed pass my lips - including bread. All my sugar comes from natural sources so I feel like it's ok. It's the added sugars your body doesn't like - those that are easily broken down. They are the ones that really affect your blood sugar. Oh I know…

  • I had an allergy to apples and hadn't had one in years! Well it magically disappeared and I can eat them again. I started back with what I thought were my favorites: granny smith but I branched out and bought galas a few weeks ago and I love them even more. Last week I tried my first pink lady and although I like it, it…
  • When I was in my early 20s I finally lost a bunch of weight after being heavy my whole life. Those collarbones stuck out and I absolutely couldn't stop touching them! I hadn't realized they had gone anywhere until I got them back! I miss them and hope they make an appearance again :-)
  • A lot of people say they hate water but drink it out of the tap or are drinking the bottled water that has terrible taste. Sometimes all it takes is getting a filter for your water - the water tastes cleaner but leaves enough minerals to give it a bit of taste :-) Otherwise all the other suggestions are great :-)
  • Remember you aren't on the Biggest Loser! We all hope that we'll step on the scale after a week and poof we will be down 10lbs but it's never going to happen! It sounds like your doctor is looking for 2 pounds a month which is ABSOLUTELY reasonable and the best way to lose weight - you're likely to keep it off and you're…
  • I never heard of such a thing but sounds delicious! I will have to give it a try :-)
  • bumping....I know you're out there!!!
  • I switched about a month ago to a whole foods diet (no wheat or rice). I'm sure many will disagree with me, but I found my appetite to have changed immensely and therefore I very rarely hit my calorie goals even with nuts and avacados thrown in the mix. I don't look at it as a huge deal in the short run - I will absolutely…
  • I'm bumping this one! Hoping for some insight
  • Thank you for recommending that book. I'm fairly certain that I fall into the category of food addict and I too would be interested in what others have to say on the topic.
  • Amazing commitment to a healthier you and you look stunning because of it!! Of course all your other accomplishments and goals are amazing as well! You rock
  • I think you should juice if juicing is going to get you to ingest the fruits and veggies you wouldn't otherwise eat! I certainly don't think there is an issue with that (and why anyone would argue that juicing is worse for you than NOT eating fruits and veggies has issues). That being said, I would also try hard to…
  • Ugh....right after I graduated college I was about 180lbs. I got down to 125lbs on Atkins. It took me a good year and a half though to lose that weight. I vowed I would never be heavy again....yeah right. Immediately after I switched back to my "normal" diet I was back up to 150lbs. I didn't let that bother me too much…
  • I made it tonight and it was a hit!! I will definitely make this again
  • I'm sure this was added already, but just in case. Hollow it out, add some jarred sauce and mozzerella into the cavity then cook in the oven (for about an hour)! You can eat the entire half for hardly any calories. It's a great way to get my baked macaroni fix. I need to try some of the above recipes! They sound great.
  • Not going to work on a cleanse BUT I cut my spaghetti squash lengthwise then add sauce and some mozzerella into the cavity and THEN bake! It's a fabulous low calorie way to get my baked macaroni fix in. Nom nom nom
  • High fat and high protein foods will do it. That doesn't mean a bacon double cheeseburger though! lol How about adding avacado to your meals. I love guacamole and use it as a condiment on everything. I get those 100calorie snack packs and use 1/4-1/3 of it to add to sandwiches, burritos, scrambled eggs, etc. Also there's…
  • Definitely eat more! You're doing too much exercise for so few calories.
  • I definitely eat above BMR and my BMI is 38! Starving myself eating 1200 cals is what has caused me to give up weight loss in the past. My BMR is about 1600 and I eat about 1700 cals. Feel free to add me :-)
  • Go to the doctor!!!! It could be IBS or it could be something else....you won't know until you get checked. There are meds they can prescribe if it is IBS - they work for some people. Good luck!
  • You had to put in how many people it served when you created the recipe!! When you divide that number into your chili, that's your serving size.
  • An interesting vegetarian dinner I got from happy herbivore is sweet potato tacos! Delish! sweet potato, baked, microwaved, boiled crunchy taco shells, prepared per package directions 1 can black beans 1 C corn, thawed if frozen guacamole or sour cream - optional scrape out the inside of the sweet potato and place into…
