  • Don't know why the differences - perhaps in the scrambled eggs it is taking in to account adding some milk or something. The way round it is to use the calories for a raw egg and then add anything else you use to cook it in, oil or whatever. Erika
  • I used to get that all the time when I was on my feet all day. It was always when I was dehydrated. If you are dehydrated it is also possible you have lost some electrolytes through your sweat etc, which is where eating a banana comes in as it helps replace any potassium you have lost. I have a small banana (or half a…
  • Well done - you are so pretty! Erika
  • Hello everyone - a little bit cooler today I think?! Did end up going for a run on Sunday evening...managed it just about, but it was definitely a warm one. My 10k is in less than 2 weeks now, and my half marathon is beckoning too!! Hope you're all good. Erika x
  • Hi I'm doing the Boutique Run 10km in Battersea Park (London) on the 10th July and the Royal Parks half Marathon on 10th October, which is also in London. Erika
  • Not much going happening on this board at the moemnt....probably because of the FABULOUS weather. I'm about to go off and eat lunch in the park. I think I'll be maintaining this week, as I went to Pizza Express on Tuesday, had pizza AND icecream. On Saturday we've got a 65th birthday party BBQ thing - bye bye this week's…
  • Hi Fiona - Search for it under 'Elliptical' - it's the same thing. Erika
  • Well done!!!! :drinker:
  • Mimi - you'll be fine! I've got a 10k on 10th July and I'm really not sure I can do it, so I know how you feel, but I reckon you'll be great. Good luck! E x
  • Yes, we have all those: Zucchini would be labelled as courgettes, eggplant as aubergines, apples are apples! There are some differences, the biggest being there is a lot less sodium and added sugar in foods like bread, compared to in the US. I quite like the food doctor pitta breads as a bread alternative. I too eat the…
  • You'll get there. It is a learning process. I agree on the coleslaw thing - I had a similar thing with mayo. The Hellmann's extra light might be super low in calories, but it tastes rubbish! The 'light' one is so much better, but still less cals than the full fat one.
  • Hey Jeannie  You are very brave to share your story, and I hope it changes the way some people think. Just to show how it can be done : I'm now in the healthy weight range, 5 - 10 pounds from my goal, eating at least 1650 calories a day and am still losing weight - I'm even thinking of upping my calories slightly.…
  • If you've not been eating enough and have upped your calories, you may stall or put on a bit of weight as your body gets used to having enough food. Don't worry though, once your body realises it's getting enough food on a permanent basis, it will stop hoarding and storing, and you WILL lose weight. Well done on your loss…
  • Hey everyone - just a quick tag so I can find you all again. Ate very badly over the bank holiday weekend - no idea what the scales are going to say tomorrow, See you all later Erika x
  • I online shop using Ocado. It saves time, and there are no impusle purchases! i always used to shop with a list, but I find this even better. Especially when they show the nutritional values online too. Erika
  • Hey everyone - sounds like you're all doing really well (swimming in vats of melted chocolate fantasies withstanding!). Hope you've all got nice plans for the weekend. I'm off for a weekend at the in laws. Last time I was there I put on five pounds, even though I was trying to be careful - it's impossible to turn down my…
  • I like Montezuma's dark chocolate with orange and geranium. Sounds horrible, but it's gorgeous. Two squares is approximately 44 calories.
  • It's been a gorgeous weekend. I like the sunshine :glasses: Unfortunately the weather does not stop me from eating! Went to Brighton yesterday and ended up going to GBK for lunch (gotta love those 2 4 1 vouchers). I had a chicken burger with babaganoush - it was bloody lovely! I bought some new running shoes, but didn't…
  • Height - 5'8'' Female Starting weight 215Ibs Current Weight 157ish Ibs Goal weight 145 - 150 Ibs (aiming for 150 and seeing how I look) Calories - 1650 + exercise When I'm good and don't drink alcohol, I'm losing 1Ib (or slightly more) a week.
  • I'm afraid I have to agree with everyone else....it all depends on each individual and also where you buy your clothes from. I was a size 18 at 215 pounds. I had to lose nearly 40 pounds to be in a 16, and from some places they're still too small. I've almost lost another 20 pounds since then, and I am almost getting in to…
  • Here's the link to the stretches I use after doing any running. It makes such a difference to me the next day: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_1/126.shtml Erika x
  • Hello - I'll post a link to the stretches tomorrow, as I can't remember where I got them from now, so will need to check my print out! Honestly, if you don't want an injury you are going to have to buy some shoes especially as you roll your feet so much. You could do yourself some serious long lasting damage and suffer a…
  • Plantpot - Well done on the run. Hope the blister gets better soon. Kimmy - I'm on week five of Couch to 5k. I did struggle with pain in my legs and groin to start with, but it's much better now that I've learnt to stretch properly after each run. If you want me to send you a suggested list of post run stretches let me…
  • You look amazing, and I LOVE your new haircut. Erika x
  • A really useful website for transport around London is this: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ Buses, tube (subway), walking, train etc. You can generate maps too. I know there's a train from Heathrow to London Paddington every 15minutes or so, and then you can eithr walk around, get the tube or buses. You might also find this link…
  • I second the London Eye, give you a really good view of the city. You can pre book online to avoid the queues. http://www.londoneye.com/ Before/after take a walk along the southbank, it's all signposted. http://wikitravel.org/en/London/South_Bank_Walk There are lots of things to see/stuff going on at the southbank centre.…
  • I don't really know much about soy milk other than that it is a completely processed product. I know several people who can't tolerate cow milk, but who can tolerate goat or sheep milk. Apparently the protein chains and sugars are different in cow's milk to goat milk, which is why it may be easier on the digestion.Goat…

  • If you don't already do it, adding some weight/resistance exercises can really help. Muscle burns more at rest than fat, giving you a better metabolism - the more muscle you have the more calroies you will burn during daily activity. We naturally lose muscle as we age. You don't have to get bulked up or anything, but a…
  • Hello - the less weight you have to lose, the harder it is, and the longer it takes. If you are in a healthy weight range your body has no reason to want to lose weight, and would actually rather have a bit of spare fat in case of sudden famine. There is a lot of talk on these forums about the last ten pounds being the…
