Non weight bearing cardio?
Hi everyone, I've damaged a ligament in my knee and am not allowed to bear weight on it. Can any of you suggest some cardio based exercise that does not involve bearing weight on my knee. I'm not allowed to swim, so the obvious suggestion is out! On the plus side, using crutches to get around seems to be working my core…

In to the last 10 pounds (pics)
Just thought I'd post as I've passed a little bit of a marker point for me. I've now lost just over 4 stone (56 pounds), and am now officially in to the last 10 pounds to go. To be honest, the losses have slowed down a lot, but they're still coming so I'll take it. Here is my before: And here are two that were taken last…

What a difference a year can make
Here is a picture of me a year ago at my sister's birthday party. I'm on the right: This is me this year at the same sister's birthday party. I'm on the left: I'm posting this because I've been struggling a bit with it recently, and thought I should remind myself how far I've come. I started on MFP in the middle of March…

New Clothes
Hi everyone, Some of you will know how long I had to wait to drop my first dress size from an 18 to a 16 (UK)...almost 40 pounds...so I couldn't see myself dropping another size any time soon, particularly as my weight loss seems to have stalled a little (I'm about 20 pounds from my goal so I guess it was going to happen…

An extra 400 calories?!
On the news this morning was an article about how the nutritional agency in the UK is thinking of changing its calorie intake recommendations, increasing them by 400 calories. Women are currently recommended to eat 2000 calories a day, men 2500. So, an extra 400 calories would make it 2400, and 2900 respectively. Now…

I've finally lost a dress size!
Well, it may have taken 42 pounds but I have finally lost a dress/trouser size. I've gone from a UK 18 to a 16 (in most clothes). I started at 215.5 pounds: I'm now at about 172 ish pounds

Hernia????
Any of you guys know what a hernia feels like? I've got a small egg shaped lump in the upper right of my abdomen, not tense, but not soft either...waiting for a docs appointment, I'm just wondering if I can keep swimming in the meantime? I swim breaststroke, and just wondering if the down kick would make it worse? Thanks…

Les Mills Body Balance
Hello Does anyone out there do any of the Les Mills Body Balance classes? My Pilates class has moved to a time I can't do, and I'm missing the stretching (although not the pain from my muscles!!! ), and I thought these classes might be a good alternative. So, what are they like? Thanks! Erika

A good start I hope
Hello, I’m newish on MFP, I think I’ve been doing this for about three weeks now. Anyway, I’ve met my first mini goal, which was 7Ibs. I wanted to set myself a ‘little’ goal to start with as the scale has done nothing but go up for a good 10 years or so. I’ve actually lost 8Ibs as of this morning. I’ve achieved this by…

An alternative explanation...
At last, an explanation! In the beginning God covered the earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, with green, yellow and red vegetables of all kinds so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives. Then using God's bountiful gifts, Satan created Dairy Ice Cream and Magnums. And Satan said, 'You want hot fudge with…
