Dunno if this will help: http://concept2.co.uk/training/technique Perhaps you're just doing too much too soon? I'd not really like to do more than 20 minutes at the moment. Yo do have to be careful as you do with any exercise. My toes rocked up suddenly the other day and i managed to tear a muscle in my thigh so you do…

I use a Concept II rowing machine fairly regularly, although I'm no pro. Make sure the foot harness is properly sized and secure, and make sure you are not hunching/leaning forward during your strokes...make sure you use your legs more than your arms and try and keep it as smooth as possible so you don't wrench anything…

You should be so proud of yourself. We can do it right, and you are such an inspiration for not being daft over it, but for making sustainable, life long changes.

A lot of measuring jugs in the UK have cups marked on them too. If I were you thought I'd just buy some food scales. On the whole using volume measurements is not as accurate as using weight. I've been using this site for a year and nearly always have been able to enter everything in grams or ounces. Erika

Well today is hubby's birthday. He wanted american style pancaked for breakfast, and actually they weren't too bad on the calorie front...if you eat them with yogurt and not a load of golden syrup! Lasagne and meringue for tea...gym now! Thank goodness we've got the day off! Have a good day everyone. Erika x

Hi everyone - hope you all had a good weekend. On Saturday I did manage to get to the gym before heading to the pub. Unfortunately I had a glass of wine (or 5) too many and got a bit hammered. Sunday morning was a bit tricky, especially when we got to my gran's and she opened a bottle of champagne! We've been off work…

Sorry to hear that your plans have had to change. Good luck with keeping on track over the weekend. Weighed in today, and to my complete and utter shock (especially considering the Pizza and glass of wine last night) I have lost 1.8 pounds. :noway: I'm not entirely sure it will stay off, but fingers crossed. I'll be off to…

When we lived in Guildford we lived round the corner from the Drummond. We like it because it's not too pricey, but still has nice food and drink. A lot of our friends still live in Guildford so it made sense to do his birthday party there. Enjoy your meal. I've never been to Rum wong...hope it's good! Erika x

Hello everyone, it sounds like you're all doing really well. Unfortunately that pound I lost is back. Urgh! I think I am basically plateauing at the moment because I've been around 166/167 for aaaaaaaages now. Gotta keep plugging away I guess. Gym tonight - but a trip to Strada tomorrow...gotta stay away from the wine so I…

You can look at this thread here which I posted a couple of weeks ago for a year's worth of progress: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/82027-what-a-difference-a-year-can-make In the last couple of weeks I'm noticing even more muscle definition. I still have a way to go, but it will come off if you persevere. Good…

I've not been able to find it, so I'm going to try growing it this year! If you do find it can you let me know where? Erika x

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok? I'm not sure how much I lost in February, I think it was no more than 2 pounds! Lots of stuff going on, so it was hard to stay on track. I'm hoping that this month might be a bit better...I'm getting closer to my goal, so I suppose it was always going to slow down a bit! I'm hoping to lose…

Hello all - hope you all had a good weekend? Mine wasn't too bad, managed a trip to the gym Saturday morning. It completely tired me out for the rest of the day! Food wasn't too bad...we did go to Wagamama's for lunch on Saturday, but I don't think that was too bad. Hard to say for sure whilst the sodium is still working…

Quiet weekend planned for me this weekend, but that's good because hopefully I can keep on track with the food consumption. Saturday will definitely enatail a trip to the gym, followed by a trip to Guildford to pick up some contact lenses and then cleaning the bathroom. Sunday will be lots of chores! Need to get out in to…

You can edit it - if you find the food in the database, and click on it, on the top right there is an 'edit' button. Click that and you can enter the missing details (or change the ones that are incorrect). Erika

The pics look great - I wish I could get a stomach that looks like yours!!!!! I haven't lost anything int he last week, but this was kind of expected with the 'Christmas' we had whilst my sister was visiting, followed by a trip to visit my Granny and then a work lunch!! I'm hoping I might lose something this week if I'm…

Try searching for 'Elliptical Trainer'. It's the same thing. Are you from the UK? Erika

Thanks everyone :blushing: I'm ok with my change in lifestyle most of the time, I just have the odd blue day now and then (don't we all), and of course it is much harder to come off now then it was when I started, but that is normal! Good luck to you all x

Well done, you look fab!

Thanks everyone! The dress is from Warehouse, but the belt is from a different dress. It was my first size 16 (UK) dress.

Thanks

Thanks everyone...and thanks Casper  I'm working on getting me some of that muscle tone! As well as posting for my own motivation I thought it would be good for people to see what can be achieved with slow and steady. I'm 5 foot 8 inches and my base calories are set to 1600, I don't normally eat less than that…

That's great news. You should be proud of everything you have achieved!! All the best, Erika

Mine is £42 a month and includes classes and the pool as well as the gym. The only thing is all the classes are on whilst I'm at work!

Haven't they just been awful? I'm not sure my boss always believes me that the trains have been bad again! I go to the gym in Haslemere, because the ones in work are just too expensive. A lot of people from our office go to Fitness First on Aldwych. Don't you have 'the gym' in Guildford - I think they're supposed to be…

Oh, and here is an excellent link that talks about defecits. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/61706-guide-to-calorie-deficits

Hi Jackie - goodness me, please don't be ashamed. We all have to learn all the time - I'm constantly getting it wrong, but I'm getting better all the time! A lifestyle change like this can be an enormous learning curve, and its not easy, especially when you have pressures on your time etc. You don't have to change…
