Thank you both for your answers. That's helpful to me to hear from people who wear them to work out. :)

When my husband was growing up, he said his mom always made their sandwiches up for the week - on the weekend before and froze them. Then each morning all they had to do was pop it out of the freezer into the lunch bag along with an apple or whatever else. And by lunch time it was thawed out and good. I've never tried it…

Years ago I went to Weight Watchers and my leader had lost well over 100 pounds and kept it off. She told us to use moisturizer everyday - everywhere. And after a shower to gently pat dry and not to rub. She said over time her skin tightened up on its own. But it took about double the time as it took to lose the weight.…

I hate rockets. The little rolled up candy that's like little chalk pellets. I think Americans call them "smarties" but in Canada we have a different kind of candy called smarties, and they're delicious. I also hate the little purple chicklet style gum that tastes like soap. Bleck! When I was a kid my sister and I had a…

this is what my doctor says too. workouts for kids are great - but not with weights.

Here's some ideas: Eat some lean protein eat some veggies or fruit. also drinking water can help. Brush your teeth go for a walk get busy doing something with your hands that takes concentration go to sleep

What causes your pain? Arthritis?, old injuries? fibromyalga? etc. I guess that's the place to start. Without knowing the root cause its hard to say what the best solution would be. But for general workout soreness and stiffness; what works for me is to walk slowly for about 10-15 minutes after a workout followed by some…

That's so amazing! You ROCK!!!!! Keep up the great work!

I did my first day last Saturday. It was HARD. But when I finished, I was so proud of myself I couldn't stop smiling all night. It was a wonderful feeling. I'm doing day 2 - after work tonight. I expect it will be a bit harder since I'm still sore from Saturday, but I'm so excited to try. Here's some advice I was given:…

thanks everybody. I just started couch to 5km on Saturday. Today will be my day 2. (whoop whoop!) I'm going to take body measurements again and hopefully will seem some real change soon. thanks again. :)

I've tried to lose weight many times in the past. sometimes successful - for while, sometimes a complete bust. I used to ban all junk food from my house, and did the same - didn't eat out. But over time I found I'd just get really frustrated and give up. So this time I've changed my attitude. I've come to a realization…

*correction* I eat free range not free run. When i answered earlier I thought that was the same thing. but i did find a link I think you might find interesting... http://eggs.ab.ca/about-eggs/egg-types

Good on you for making the switch, I eat free run eggs too. :) My guess (I'm not a farmer) is that the colouring has to do with what the chicken was eating.Traditional eggs are fed particular mixes, whereas free run chickens also eat bugs, and plant stuff in addition to their food. In general I don't find any difference in…

I think that it would be best to have that conversation with your doctor. Everyone's situation is slightly different and what could be ok for one may not be for another. So even if others gave information about what they can do, it doesn't mean it right or wrong for you.

It looks to me like your mornings start off great, then you get derailed through the day. I'd suggest stopping the shakeology lunches since I think they aren't keeping you feeling satisfied - which could be causing the afternoon snack attacks. Instead try a sandwhich with lean protein, healthy fat and whole grain bread,…

I just checked out the zombie, run for your life site - very very COOL!!!! Im not ready for that this year, but its something to look forward to for maybe next year, or the year after.

Thanks everyone for all your great suggestions. I'm getting excited with the prospect i can actually do this. You guys are awesome! :flowerforyou:

I go to a place called the Running Room. They ask you to bring in your old ones so they can see where and how they've worn down in order to determine what are your best options for durability. they also watch you walk barefoot across the store to see which ways your legs naturally turn. That's also helpful for getting the…

I would love to try zumba. I think I'd find it addicting - in a good way. Unfortunately no places near me offer it. (the problem of living in the boonies) I dance in my house, but I get tired of doing that alone. but you've given me a great idea. Maybe I need to find a place near by that offers classes...

What I've found helpful in the past is to have mini goals that have an end date. Like, doing a 5km walk. I first measure my time doing it, then plan to half the time to walk the 5 km, and I have 1 month to work towards that goal to see if I can do it or not. I've also done things like doubled my treadmill time, or doubled…

Thanks for the outdoor ideas. I thought i would consider adding in some snow shoes. I'll probably rent for a month or two to see if I really like it or not. (I used to go, but haven't been in over 10 years) Last winter I was down 40 pounds and was freezing all the time and miserable. I had to get long johns and wear them…

I agree with what Kiya said. Its in your best interest to do what the doctor said. Too much movement, or exersion could cause serious injuries depending on what type of surgery you had. For example, internal stitches could break open causing damage, bleeding and increased risk of infection. You won't gain back much weight…

I'm in canada and most people I know use the ipad or a kobo (from indigo/chapters) My mom has a kobo and loves it. the problem with the nook is you can't download books if you are in canada. - at least that's what I'm told
-
that's great, thank you for the ideas. to the person who asked where, its at a sobey's in Ontario Canada. They currently have 10 pound bags of oinons, carrots and beets for only $2. each. I want to take advantage of that sale and freeze stuff for the winter.

Wearing yoga pants to a run - at ANY size is completely acceptable. you won't frighten or blind anyone. Besides, if they are so concerned about what you are doing instead of paying attention to themself and what they should be doing then they are too petty to be worried about anyway.
