There's a few things you can do that I know for sure will work. Years ago I did a 60 km in 2 days, and only had 2 tiny little blisters while other people had worn off their toe nails and had the entire bottoms of their feet blistered up. If you go to a proper running store (eg Running Room), tell them what you do and the…

I have a couple of friends who when on the dr. bernstein's diet and were required to have vitamin b injections to help with their hunger cravings (supposedly). the diet is a sham and they both suffered from it. One lost her hair - which did not grow back. plus sensations in part of her hands. She lost a total of 110 pounds…

Actually, you posted with the heading that "honesty is the best policy", then went on to say how you're on the verge of quitting because nothing is working for you. Some people interpreted that as an indication that you wanted help - and so that's what you got. Its not judgement designed to make you feel bad. Same for…

I'm sorry, I thought that by you're post of saying "honesty is the best policy" was because you wanted honest feedback. I didn't mean to come across as disrespectful in any way, so I'm sorry if I did, but I'm not the sort of person who's going to say "good job" when someone is struggling and asking for help. I see you've…

In the spirit of honesty, my thought is this....its unfair to expect results on the scale when you haven't done the work to make that change. I had a quick look at your diary, and also read your post carefully, so it seems to me thatyou are logging, but not make the best choices - which according to your post, you are…

That's great - thank you!

Personally I don't know, but if you contact that company directly, they will tell you where you can buy it in your area, or how to buy it from them directly.

I tried it years ago. I found it didn't really work. Like all fads, I lost weight the first couple weeks, but over time it stopped, and became way too hard to maintain following it. I found it to be too restrictive. Also, now that I'm learning more and more about nutrition and how the body works, the stuff in that book…

I used to work in an office and had the same problem, so I moved the food to the back lunch room or by the water cooler instead of at my desk. If someone brought stuff in and tried to leave it by my desk, I told them straight out, I can't deal with the temptation of smelling it and seeing it all day and I'm trying to be…

Lots of great insights, thanks everyone for sharing. :flowerforyou:

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about a basic difference of opinion. I mean the nasty nitpicky jabs. What's the point of that? Thanks everyone for you answers so far. :)

What a fabulous attitude. :)

that's an interesting thought that the attention is uncomfortable even if it is only yourself. I think you are on to something there.

After taking off 30 pounds, at a christmas party I got told "wow, you've lost weight! You look great".. Then the person patted my arm, smiled and added "but you've still got a long way to go" Nice eh?

Jilliam Michaels is NOT a doctor. I've been monitored by a doctor and absolutely have lost inches with little scale change, and I absolutely have increased muscle in month. Not much, but its been certainly trackable. She makes her living off fat people staying fat. For all her talk, she's laughing all the way to bank…

I find veggies filling. Sometimes I add some protein as well if i know its going to be a while between meals.

Salty most definitely! I used to joke that I loved deepfried salted anything. :) But now, those are occasional treats. And even then, I'm finding my taste buds are changing, and it doesn't taste as good as it looks, and it makes me feel bloated and sluggish.

I don't think having a photo and/'or a real name makes anyone more credible. The truth is we each need to research and educate ourselves, you cannot live by words spoken from a stranger over the internet - even if they do have a nice smile.

Thanks everyone. Its good to know I'm not the only one who puts value on being sincere. :) Mostly what I do is delete people off my list who are not actually trying to improve their health. I came here for me, and need support and give support to like minded people. Life's too short to waste time on the wrong things.

Personally I think 50 pounds in just a bit over 3 months is a bit unrealistic. However, eating about 50% veggies in your day, and getting in whole grains, lots of lean proteins, healthy oils, and of course tons of water will get you started. Also, if you get in lots of exercise you'll find you'll tighten up and look & feel…

I went to Egypt 2 years ago. Its going to be hard to stay on your diet because of the options available to you and its very hard to know how its been prepared and cooked. My advice is to keep away from any fresh fruit or veggies unless its been peeled. But your best bet is to keep to things that are thoroughly cooked. Also…

Have you tried baking soda? You can either add it to the wash, or soak in it in advance. If it were me, I'd try soaking with it first, because running the wash. Be generous too with the portions, it can't hurt. At worst, you'd just have to do a second rinse cycle. I hope that helps. :)

For me, its a variety of fresh and frozen veggies. Some fruit. And lean protein like skinless boneless chicken breasts or fish. I also keep nuts and seeds handy for quick snacks. For carbs I generally keep to rice, and the occasional potato. But not much bread, crackers, or other flour based stuff. And very very little in…

I recently had this same problem. i was stuck at the same weight for 2 months. I tried some of the tricks that mfp people have posted and nothing worked, so this is what i did. i booked an appointment with the owner of our local gym - who is also a personal trainer. She recommended that I change up my workout routine so…
