  • I am lazy and a bad cook. Also, I like things simple. I buy the individually wrapped frozen fillets, thaw one, put some "spices" (usually paprika) on either side, and cook it on my George Foreman grill, without checking on it and just assuming that it's done when the light on the grill turns off. :) If I had to get all…
  • When I moved out into my own place with my boyfriend, I insisted on having no microwave, because I didn't want to be tempted to eat frozen meals or "convenience" foods, which are usually junk for me. However, we now live with his parents who of course have one. I must say, being able to bake a potato in 3 minutes versus…
  • No idea, really. I still have terrible skin, even though I eat clean and drink plenty of water. I just assume it's 1) Bad genes; 2) Stress; and 3) Hormones (I'm on a progesterone only birth control pill and get my period every other week).
  • I don't intend to stop tracking. Maybe experimenting for a week, just to see, but otherwise, no. I lost 80lbs in the past by tracking what I ate, and only maintained it for a couple of months without tracking before I started gaining again. In my case, once I started eating a little bit of that bad food without consequence…
  • I honestly never had any body issues until I started losing weight. After losing 80lbs I was definitely more self-conscious. I think some of it simply came from the fact that I had never paid much attention to my body before and now I was scrutinizing everything about my health, diet, exercise, etc. What helped me was…
  • I lost 60lbs (from 190lbs to 130lbs; I lost 20lbs before that by eating 1200 cal. every day) while zig-zagging. It certainly did not hinder my weight loss, but I would not do it again. For me, personally, it made me obsess too much over the numbers, because I had to be really disciplined to hit each day's goal. Instead, I…
  • I'm so boring with breakfast: 1 1/2 cups cheerios + 1/2 cup skim milk and a Dannon light & fit yogurt. About 280 calories, I believe. Oatmeal gives me really bad acid reflux and eggs make me incredibly hungry. I still like them both, though, so if I feel like torturing myself I'll have them.
  • Some people do come off as arrogant here in terms of thinking they know everything about fitness/nutrition (even when they clearly don't). However, your op seemed like you were focusing on people not accepting friend requests or replying to messages, hence the comments thus far.
  • I haven't actually witnessed this (but I've only been here for a bit over two months). Also, no one is required to add you to their FL or to reply to messages. It's not rude on their part. You're the one imposing yourself on them, so they don't owe you anything, in my opinion. Still, I hope you have better luck finding…
  • I love Carnation Breakfast Essentials - no sugar added chocolate milk powder. They make it in ready to drink cans and tubs of the powder, but I just buy the individual packets. One of those packets is 60 calories, 60mg sodium, 300mg potassium, 12g carbs, 4g fiber, 7g sugar, 5g protein, and 140% Vitamin C (plus about 25% of…
  • I couldn't care less what someone else is wearing when I go out to eat. In fact, I find it kind of funny that so many people even notice this. The exception would be a restaurant that explicitly states some sort of dress code, in which case they should be controlling for that. Otherwise, "fancy" is really a subjective…
  • Sorry, that was in response to "Caribbean" for Cmary192
  • That's what I was going to guess.
  • Coconut and amoxicillin. I always have a bad reaction to penicillin, but it won't kill me. I spent five years taking prescription allergy medicines, even though I felt like none of it worked. My doctor thought I was just being a hypochondriac, but eventually I get an allergy test. Turns out I have NO environmental…
  • Sorry, that was a reply to this:
  • I understand your frustration, but I don't think what you're describing is the case here at all. Exercising for 40 minutes a day is not unreasonable, nor is walking, which the neighbor apparently complained about as well. It's pretty clear (to me anyway) that the neighbor (assuming the OP is accurately describing the…
  • Actually not a huge comedy (movie) fan, but I've seen all but two of these. Modern times Princess Bride N/A Young Frankenstein Dr. Strangelove The Producers neither Blazing Saddles Groundhog Day neither Ghostbusters The Blues Brothers The Big Lebowski neither neither neither
  • I tried going to a nutritionist and it was a bit disappointing. I'm sure there are good nutritionists out there and that they have helped plenty of people, but frankly, she didn't tell me a single thing I didn't already know. If it's free though, it probably won't hurt to see what they have to tell you.
  • I keep close track of how much I spend on groceries, and it's definitely much more expensive getting nutritionally healthy foods. I can't afford organic food at all.
  • I never wear makeup, even though I have really bad skin. I've gotten it professionally done several times before and it always looks horrible. I usually don't like how makeup looks on other girls, either, no matter how "natural" it's supposed to look. The exception would be like, over the top, almost performance type…
  • Deep pan cheese pizza - I plan my calories around it for the weekend. Ice cream/custard - if it's in the apartment, I will eat it all. So I have to just not buy it. Chocolate and peanut butter - I cannot be trusted with either. The sad thing is, chocolate gives me acid reflux, but it doesn't matter, once I start I can't…
  • Sorry to be a negative nancy, but I just tried these and they were a disaster. I'm still not sure how OP is getting such a low calorie count, but whatever, the ones I made are still pretty low-cal. Second, I used a hand mixer as per others' suggestions, and I still couldn't get it to a pancake batter consistency. They came…
  • Ah, Ok. They didn't have fat free cream cheese at my store. I'll try it anyway with the light cream cheese, and see if it's any good.
  • I bought the Egg Beaters egg whites today, and am going to try to make these tomorrow. I think it should work.
  • I'm trying to figure out how you got 77 calories for 4 pancakes. What cream cheese are you using? The lowest calorie one I found at the store was 120 calories for 2 oz, plus 65 calories for Egg Beaters egg whites. So that would be 185 calories for the entire batch.
