I find it very motivating to see someone older than I, or with more to loose. I think to myself...if they can do it, I can do it too; then I keep trying. Keep up the great work!

change ratio of carbs to protein until you see results (increase protein and decrease carbs). You should be able to tolerate more calories without weight gain this way too. Also might consider having hormone levels (thyroid), or testosterone checked.

I eat chia seeds at every meal, but only 1/2 teaspoon with a glass of water. Make sure to drink lots of liquid or get very constipated. I used to eat 1 Tab once a day, but had issues in the bathroom with VERY bulky stools (sorry to be graphic). You can slowly increase amounts as tolerated if you have no issues. I just put…

From one of the main yogurt sites (can't remember if it was Chobani or Fage), but 3/4 cup greek yogurt (non-fat) and mix in one tablespoon of lemon curd. THe actual recipe goes on a graham cracker crust, but I find its just as good with a small graham cracker on the side. I think it makes a nice serving for two in a cute…

there are lots of beginning yoga routines on You Tube. Just try a different one daily until you find what appeals to you. There's one that starts with a V that I enjoyed as a beginner (sorry, I forget the name, but I'll bet others know it). When you find what you like, there are apps to download for IPads

All of the frozen vegetables and fruits are amazing. Buy chopped spinach and some to all your pasta, rice sides and practically anything. Frozen berries are great in plain yogurt or cottage cheese. For a sweet treat, there are dark chocolate potato chip shaped heavenly treats (with a 12 piece serving size). Some of the…

Chocolate that is 72% and better can have 10-15%, edamame and whole grains have huge amounts. OR better yet-eat Trader joes dark chocolate edamame with 15% iron and 7 grams protein per delicious 1/4 serving. You can also hide chopped spinach and kale in many foods like salads to spaghetti sauces

If you think she doesn't know, take a photo, but never say a word about her being overweight. Secondly, be aware that decreasing hormones play a big role on how the calories are metabolized. It may not be her her fault and there may not be anything she can do short of starvation. I could not loose weight until I read the…

Maybe increase your protein/fiber and lessen your carbs a bit?

Wow, you look so much happier! What a difference!

try Einkorn pasta (available at whole foods or on line). It is made from ancient wheat (before it was genetically altered to remove protein and nutrition). Two ounces isn't many calories and has way more protein (has 9 grams in 2 ounces) than spaghetti squash. You can add some chopped spinach to your sauce to add nutrition…

The troubling research on too much protein is done on animal proteins. It does not apply to vegetable proteins

Buy some frozen shelled edamame to keep in your freezer. Sprinkle it on salads (just run some warm water over it for a few seconds) or throw into other veggies and chicken soup. Also keep peanuts in the fridge. They are very high in protein and low in carbs. Also Greek yogurt (I like Chobani) plain. I sometimes stir in a…
