Is the goal to reduce sugar drastically? Perhaps he can start by eating whole grains, legumes, and limit starchy veggies (corn, potato) to only a few times a week instead of eliminating carbs completely from his diet.

The book says you can use Low-fat acidophilus milk. (1 cup = 1 serving)

I also just started the 17DD. I am on C1D3. So far, I am finding this easy to do! I was previously doing a Low Carb diet, so I am loving adding fruit and yogurt to my diet. Feel free to add me if you want! ~Amy
