Absolutely! Signed up Feb 2012 and, after 243 days, reached my goal weight after losing 28 kg (60 lbs). I had always exercised before but was trying to "out-exercise" bad food decisions. Simply weighing and logging food showed me I needed to learn about portion size. I have succesfully maintained a range of + or - 2 kg…

If you saw the forecast here, you'd know what I plan on doing... nothing outside. High -16C with a windchill of -30C. Fire up the DVD player... and the fireplace!

Said it before and I'll say it again: I do not believe in the concept of "cheat days". If you bite it, you write it. If you want to eat something, eat it, log it and move on with no regrets! IMHO, it's only cheating if you do not log it.

I've experianced this quite a bit as well and one response that I use is "You are only saying that because you've seen me before the weight loss. Had you just met me today, you would not be saying that." I have been maintaining for almost two months now and I still get the "you need to stop losing" comments from family…

I like Kashi Chewy Granola bars. The Trail Mix ver has 140 cal, 6 g protein, 4 g fibre, 5 g fat, 20 g total carbs (6 g sugar).

Exercise, fibre, fish & flax... and, after a 28 Kg loss, I may be off Liptor for good as my latest numbers were normal for HDL and below normal for LDL.

After 28 Kg (since Feb 12) I get a lot of reponses ranging from "you look good" "are you sick?" and one simply said "wow" repeatedly. When it is a compliment, I reply "thank you". When asked how I did it, i say "watching what I eat and exercising". I usually give a brief explanation about MFP because they simply can't…

I prefer the classics: Scrooge ( released as A Christmas Carol in the USA), the definitive version; It's A Wonderful Life; Miracle on 34th Street (both are good); White Christmas; and also Scrooged.

X-Com definately! Play the early PC versions and thought those games rocked!

My wife and always dress for Hallowe'en... for the kids, you understand, they enjoy it so much. My wife dresses as a witch and I dress as Bela Lugosi's Count Dracula, with cape, white pleated shirt, bow tie, black vest and black pants. A little costume jewellery finishes it. The only problem is that, this year, the clothes…

Workdays I have my my breakfast after morning PT and it usually consists of Kashi bars (130-150 cal, 4 g fibre, 5-7 g protein depending on which one) and a banana. On the weekends I ususally have a bowl of Sally's Cereals (Whole Wheat Bundles - 55g has 200 cal, 7 g fibre, 6 g protein) with a half cup of skim milk one day…

This is Titus, a rescue dog who spent 7 months in the shelter before we adopted. I have been using one of his photos (see my profile for others) for my avatar since he and I were struck by a car. It was a deliberate attack by some some kid who, apparently, thought I was somebody else. Anyway, Titus got hurt worse than I…

<Weiser slow clap> Well done, Stacks, brilliant post. Echoes everything I have felt and said during these last 223 days (and 57 lbs). I have heard people talk about gluten free, sugar free, paleo, low carb, high carb, low fat, no fat, nutritional dense calories (WTH?). I think a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. It is a…

Guiness (a porkchop in every glass) Warsteiner (ja, das ist gut) Heinenken (on tap, in Amsterdam) Sam Adams Boston Lager (wicked good) Strongbow (and now for something completely different) Dos Equis (I don't always drink beer... wait... yes, I do) And just about any Canadian beer... except for Pil... that stuff is crap!

Of course it is. It is listed in the database. Walking 3.0 mph is the pace I use when walking the dog and we go for 30 mins. It's not a huge calorie burn but it is exercise. One of my favourite sayings here is "It doesn't matter how slow you're going, you're still lapping those people who are still on the couch!"

We're all about the tradition here... roast turkey & gravy, mashed sweet potatoes, glazed carrots, cranberry sauce, my 3 bread stuffing and sweet potato pie for dessert.

From livestrong.com: While caffeine can be dehydrating, drinking diet sodas that contain caffeine in moderate amounts should not dehydrate you significantly. For caffeine to have noticeable effects, you have to drink a lot of it -- anywhere from 500 to 600 milligrams, according to MayoClinic.com. Because a 12-ounce diet…
