I record what the machine says. I use the Precor elliptical and input age and weight and then use the heart rate sensors on the machine. After a 35 min Gluteal workout plus a 5 min cool down i usually burn 290-310 cal. If you want most accurate get a heart rate monitor.

Well... emphasis on the from part. My Dad's side of the family settled in NS (around Fenwick) back when Robert Ripley arrived in 1774 and had been there ever since. My dad was born in Halifax but joined the Air Force and left. He was posted back there so I did spend 5 years growing up in Dartmouth and Shearwater.

Your post got me thinking of my own impending camping trip, although it is only for two weeks, and my plan is: 1- Meals will be the same as at home. There is not one thing that I cook at home that I cannot cook at the campsite. 2- Snacks, same as #1. 3- I have the MFP iPhone app so I am still able to log in and record (but…

I think consistency is the key... same day, same scale, same conditions. I weigh in on Saturday morning, before breakfast, underwear only. I have done it this way since the beginning and so I think it gives a more accurate record that way.
