These people have said it all really. If only you could spot reduce, we'd all have hourglass figures and lovely flat tummies all the time but alas, it's just not the case. People store fat differently to others and lose it differently too. For some, it'll go from the belly first, some from the face etc. For me it was my…

Aw no the poor girl! PCOS is not a fun thing to go through one bit. I was only diagnosed at the beginning of this year (when i was 30) and it was a bit of a blow for me at that age. Can't imagine what she must feel like at 20!! Well done to her for losing so much weight! 17 lbs is absolutely amazing!! It does make a…

Yes it does hurt sometimes lol but i'm pretty used to the back pain now. My boobs have been this size for years- even before i gained all the weight. Yes it DEFINITELY makes it extremely hard to find bras- especially nice, pretty ones. I got a few nice ones the other day after a LOT of searching! lol Thank you!!

Pure drivel. Gave up halfway through book 2. Some of the 4 year olds at my nursery have a better writing style. As for the content- cheesy and cringe-worthy at best. Didn't get me going one bit.

Thanks everyone for your lovely responses!! Such lovely words. I just hope i can inspire people to change their lives for the better. Jx

It stands for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Its an endocrine condition which causes lots of nasty symptoms including but not limited to acne, insulin resistance and potential infertility.

Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES! When i was diagnosed i told myself i wouldn't be ruled by this for the rest of my life. It would have been so easy to comfort eat and think that the damage had already been done so why bother. That was the old me- but i decided not to be that person anymore.

Wow thank you!!! Every so often i have- as everyone does- a "feeling fat day" when i look at myself and i see NO difference whatsoever. It makes me feel awful. Today is one such day so i thought i'd try this way to give myself a different perspective. I've gone from a (uk) size 20 to a size 12 my boobs have only gone down…

Thanks everyone! Chunk2206: I do 30-45mins cardio on my stationary bike 4-5 days a week and i've recently started incorporating a bit of strength training in there too a few days a week.

I usually log it as low impact aerobics (i'm a beginner and just do mine at home with 3kg kettlebell)

^^This It takes a LOT of testosterone to bulk up. I have raised testosterone (due to PCOS) but even that's still too low for bulking.

^^THIS This is an excellent idea. You will really benefit from eating more. Really you have no idea what a difference it makes. As for your being afraid to eat more incase you gain weight- please remember that your body burns calories just by bodily processes such as breathing, pumping blood around your body etc. This is…

Plateaus happen to most of us. They've happened to me a couple of times. Its extremely frustrating and hard to keep going and motivated when the weight isn't moving. I had exactly your issue. My weight totally stalled for ages. I started eating more (about 13-1400 per day) and i've lost 2lbs every week since!

How heavy would you suggest? I've been using 3kg- i know thats a really girly weight before anyone says it but i wanted to start out light as i'm an absolute beginner.

Firstly, you are not on a diet. They don't work. You're on a mission to change your eating habits for a way of life. That's the only way it will work for you in the long term. I would suggest you stick to the old "everything in moderation" adage. When you say to yourself "i'm on a diet, so i can't have......." you…

Has her GP specifically put her on this diet? or is it something she has decided to do of her own accord? In any case, none of us are qualified to give you any advice on VLCD's. It really is a matter for her GP. If i were you, i would just keep trying to get her to see her doctor. It's all you can do. Good luck. Jx
