  • THANKS!!! What an awesome response! I wasn't expecting that many people to participate, but that's great! Got some really funny/silly responses, but ultimately I think we are set. Thanks again - and I'll have to let you know how the game goes! Happy Holiday Weekend!!!
  • Very interesting!!! I'd like to try something like this, but will need my husband to be on board with me. Have you had to take any time off of work? I've heard some "cleanses" are for stay-at-home only due to all the bowel movements...(gross).
  • My Grampa - Edwine Holevinsky - RIP - Purple Heart and Medal of Honor WWII My Dad - Henry Holevinsky - Air Force Vet My Little Sister - Charity Holevinsky - Current Army Reserve And thank you to all you other men and women (and people's children) who have fought to preserve our freedom. YOU are my hero!
  • 130. That's still a pound up from last week. I'm headed in the wrong direction! Not an excuse, but need to be honest with myself so I don't make the same mistake twice: I didn't refill my anti-depressants and went without for 2 (maybe 3 days). When you start AD it takes about 2 wks to get your system completely up to pare.…
  • WHAT are you trying to do to me?!?! ;) Thanks for sharing. Sounds wayyyy too delicious! I'll have to check out the ingredients of each. I'm trying to eat "clean". ;)
  • Gahh!! My weekend sucked balls! I went out to eat 3 times in 2 days! And Sunday morning I weighed myself and I was up by 2 pounds - was so discouraged that I totally sabatoged myself and ate ALL DAY LONG! I had Halloween candy, icecream, and anything I could get my hands on. I wasn't even hungry but my mouth wanted to be…
  • Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
  • I did great with the no candy on Tuesday (129 lbs) but I caved Wednesday (128.5 lbs) and had a teeny tiney Hersey dark chocolate piece and a couple bites of my son's kitkat bar. But I am still losing weight - not gaining. I weighed in this morning at 128. I have 8 lbs to go before Christmas. NO CANDY TODAY!! YAY!! So…
  • Welcome! This is a great site to meet people who are working hard to achieve their goal. Get to know a few and stick with them through their/your journey. They will inspire you and help motivate you when you are down and you can do the same for them. My advice to you - stay away from sugar, processed foods, and carbs. Eat…
  • GREAT JOB! You look so amazing and so very happy! Good for you for pushing through and becoming the person you wanted to be! Cute costume, btw. ;)
  • Wow - this is a total echo of my life. I have a little boy - 22 mnths old - and have been battling with post-partum depression. I'm still on Zoloft and I can tell it helps, but I've also recently switched birth controls to something a little stronger and could tell a difference within days! Sometimes those hormones are too…
  • Welcome! This is a great site - so many handy tools all in the same place, plus people to help pat you on the back or encourage you when you are down.
  • I'm sure we'd all be happy to have you! No reason NOT to join. ;) All we are doing so far is weighing in on Tuesday's. We are trying to get some challenges going, so we'd love to hear your ideas.
  • Here! Here! It sucks if you go up, but no one HERE is going to judge you. If you can't take responsibility for your gains then you don't learn anything from them. Get back on the wagon and try to kick 2 pounds this week instead of just 1! ;) I agree - it makes me want to work harder. If we can't make it through Halloween…
  • I've been kind of up and down because I've had the flu. Monday I weighed in at 127 and today I weighed in at 129 (probably because I didn't eat much all day and was finally hungry at night). I'm going to say "129" for today. I haven't measured in a while, but I'd be happy to share halfway through. I'm hoping for a good…
  • I totally feel for you! I get that at work all the time. They either think that I am pregnant because I eat so much or they are judging what I eat because I said I'm trying to lose weight. So many people don't know that they way to LOSE weight is to eat MORE. Once you get past the irony of it and actually try it - the…
  • Don't fret too much. Take your time. Weight isn't going to just magically disappear just because you've decided to eat better or exercise. It sounds to me like your body is freaking out (thinking that you are in starvation mode) that you are trying to lose weight so quickly and is storing fat instead of losing it. It is…
  • Great job, Nina! Keep doing the right thing and work the weight off the right way!
  • Great article! People are always looking for a quick fix, but more often than not they just cause themselves more harm than good. I had a cousin that passed away due to complications with her gastric bypass. And liver damage from taking a weightloss pill??? Are we really willing to risk that? If you want to be thin - do…
  • Yes - I was totally talking about the calorie deficit. Should goal be more like: workout - burn 500 calories? Sheesh - I feel like an idiot! I know not to eat less than my 1200 calories for the day, and I've started eating more "clean" foods - natural, non-processed. So I'm eating right. But I do have a hard time getting…
  • Bleh - I totally get you! That happens to me to often. I stay away from the scale as much as I can. Especially Monday mornings. If I gain weight - I don't want to know. I find it depressing and I often lose motivation to workout or eat right. So I only weigh in on Friday's now. That is before the weekend and after a whole…
  • Well Girls, I've got you both beat. I have two boys that are 11 months and 10 days apart. My oldest was born in January 2009 and my youngest was born December 2009. ;) It is really hard to work out with two babies at home - the only time I've found is first thing in the morning. But it is nice that it is done and out of…
  • I'm proud of you for not taking him back. If it is true love, then there should have been no question in his mind. I had a guy do that to me for 3 years - but I finally saw the pattern and stopped taking him back. He didn't want me long-term (he never had) he only wanted me when it was convenient for him, and that is not…
  • Oh no - we use Aunt Millie's 100% Whole Wheat Bread. We don't eat any white bread anymore. But great suggestions everyone! I agree - I probably need more complex carbs in the morning - an egg or cottage cheese is a great idea! And I'm going to have to try Laughing Cow Cheese - I keep hearing about it and I've never tried…
  • I reviewed my food diary and it looks like my largest source of sugar is cereal. Hmmm...I try to eat the healthy ones - Go Lean Crunch (12 sugars) or Frosted Mini Wheats (10 sugars). Maybe I should just go with oatmeal and fruit for breakfast? I eat peanut butter every day, but limit myself to 1 TBLS. Any other suggestions?
  • You can bank them until you reach your healthy BMI. Once you get there, you should probably eat them so that you don't start burning muscle at the gym.
  • This is hysterical! I lose count and I find it extreeeeeemely annoying to have to go to the bathroom all the time. I'm pretty sure I've gone at least 6 times and I've only had 4 glasses of water.
  • I'm totally in!! That is right on target with what I want to lose - one pound a week. It's going to be hard to get through the weekends without totally blowing it, but I'm all in. I'll give it all I've got!
  • I would say that you aren't eating enough calories. Use the BMR calculator under the tools tab and find out what your minimum calorie intake should be. Generally speaking for any adult - you should never eat less than 1200 calories.
