  • Oh and yah, if you findy ou are diabetic, do what our diabetic friend recommend :)
  • I have issues with sugar too, and recently learned that i am prediabetic. While they say "sugar is sugar", different sugars affect your "glycmic index" differently. I have found that any added sugar is really my problem. So i am trying not to eat anything processed with ADDED sugar. You dont need any of it, period. I dont…
  • Congratulations! I hope i can for once stick to it like that. Did you notice that your skin and hair look nicer too? I hope this new healthy you lasts for a lifetime!
  • Well as long as it does go up with exercise, that is good. It doesnt sound like it is low low like in the 40s. I would not want him working tht hard if it is that low. His peak aerobic heart rate might just be in the 130s to 140s. I have some asthma, which makes execise hard sometimes. I keep an inhaler with me if i start…
  • i would be more worried about the Asthma. but he might also be different physically from you. Is he very athletic and physically fit? I have a friend who regularly runs a few miles a day. We climbed stairs together, her heart rate was almost normal compaired to mine, which was really high. (i'm still working up my fitness…
  • i actually do it once or twice a day, just to see how much my body is fluctuating. i see the results of too much sodium and sugar when i do that, which i think might be a motivator to be more careful with these things. one time i lost 1 pound from an awesome work out. i try to only log once a week though, because hour to…
  • be kind to yourself. forgive yourself when you mess up. and remember to just take it one day at a time.
  • oh, and have a look at your food diaries and see what your trends are. read labels and see what has tons of sugar, fake, high fructose etc. oh, and i discovered that i had my lifestyle activity setting wrong and had to start over. make sure you've got it accurate so you're not eating more calories than you are burning. man…
  • i am finding i have similar problems. my big weakness is sweets, and when i need something to eat, i grab what we have, and not what i should eat. are you trying to fill up on healthy foods? lots of veg lots of fiber and protein. i actually added extra meals (breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and snack/dessert) you can do that…
  • http://www.womentowomen.com/default.aspx try this. it talks about women in all age groups, with some really interesting info about diet, health and supplements which i have found very helpful and informative. you can learn a lot about your body here. hope it helps.
  • what do you eat? i have a similar problem, and my doc told me to eat something really grainy like a bowl of cereal. like shredded wheat. but with your diabetes i'm not so sure about that. are you hungry? or is it a boredom kind of thing? you might ask your md, and have a look at what you are putting in your diet that could…
  • it depends on what you are doing at work? can you fit in a 10 minute walk here and there? your body might not be able to accommodate a full work out on top of what you are doing at least at first. if school just started, i would start with working in those little walks, then add or switch to maybe 30 minutes at the gym…
  • start logging your exercise, and you'll find you are given more calories. i'm only on week two but i am right on track, and i'm hitting the 1800-2000 calorie mark with my earned exercise. i have a pretty physical job on top of my work outs, so i am starving by meal time! your body needs those good calories to feed it from…
  • i put a little bit of lemon in my water, and keep it easy to reach for. it is hard if you have a busy lifestyle or just dont have a taste for water, but the more you drink it, the more of a desire you will have for water. dont quit!
  • any idea how fast you might have been walking? you might be able to calculate it that way. there is a "slow pace" in the exercise database. it could be a guesstimate.
  • i like that you chose to get on the bike. there are other ways to counter balance those sugar cravings. i am really surprised at how much sugar is in my diet, and i am eager to hear what everyone else does to combat it, because it is the devil!
