Misery loves company, and folks may not realize it. When you get to your goal weight you may not have the same friends.

Start surrounding yourself with more positive people, if you can join a gym and find a fitness buddy, that would be a big help.

I use to take a class at the YMCA years ago called hyrdro jog. It was in the deep end you had on belts that kept you upright and head above water. I wonder if you could do that, if you could find a class like that.

Focus on cardio in the beginning I would say; but always a little resistance training is good. If you can take a class that is mostly cardio; that will help you lose weight and will offer some resistance as well, then add strenght. You need both however.
