Please do chime in. i can log things easier in chains. I am also the queen of ordering kids meals. I hate large portions.

What do you mean posted calories? If we eat at family owned, local restaurants, calories are not posted. Which is most often the case.

Most salads in restaurants have other added flavor. Cheese, egg, avocado... lots of calories that need to be included. I am not a huge fan of salad dressings anyway, so it is not a hardship to use them. However last night at chick fil a, the kids nugget meal was less calories than the Cobb Salad I thought I would get.

The easiest way is to start them eating vegetables when they are infants. Veggies have always been served with every meal and they (Kids are 12 & 5) grew up eating a variety. My kids love salad and veggies. They will now even order broccoli instead of fries when we dine out.

I can drink a six pack and not even have a buzz. Fully functional, no slurred speech, sloppiness, or signs I was drinking anything but water. Not everyone that drinks regularly/socially is an alcoholic. I was passing out beer the other night at a baseball game and I did not even have one. An alcoholic needs to drink…

Online dating sucks. I went out with 61 guys in about three months. I could write a book on the creeps I met on that adventure. Many guys only want one thing, or they were so damaged by multiple divorces, baby mama drama or just flat out crazy. You have to do it with the attitude that you have no expectations, and if you…

I do walk, play on playground, move for practices. But for games we do our best to watch and cheer for the duration of the game.

yes I know the answer and it sucks. I have to choose food or alcohol. I cant handle both. Unless I quit my job and live at the gym, which I cant do that either. I have not found time to even get to the gym in 2 years on my current schedule. Prior to dating me, my boyfriend spent 3 hours a day in the gym. With running to…

I don't get sloshed with two bottles of wine. I can drink a six pack, in an hour and not even have a buzz. Not everyone processes alcohol the same and everyone has different tolerance levels. I started drinking my dads beer as a toddler and I still love the taste today.

Other than alcohol, I only drink water, unsweetened tea and coffee with cream and sugar. I do not drink sodas. I do not use artificial sweeteners. Alcohol is pretty much the only calories I drink.

That was a family cookout! I have been logging the last few days. I had one large margarita last night and was only over 200 calories for the day. Mathematically I just cant fit it all in. Sucks but it is what it is. Maybe I will give it up until I drop 15 lbs, then go back to drinking more and maintaining on a 1700…

Yeah I have been struggling with making it for a few months, which is why I posted. My head says go with food..my heart says "where is my bottle opener?" The beer fridge is way more exciting than the food fridge at home.

I already feel run down and exhausted most of the time. But I think that is related to being a single parent of two, having a house full of pets, working 50 hours a week, managing a rental, maintaining a house on over 2 acres, and running kids to activities almost every night of the week.

1500-1700 is my maintain allotment. To lose, I have to exercise and be around 1200.
-
Right and my personal struggle is I like drinking better than eating, but then I get hungry...ugh. Maybe a happy split of 4- 500 calorie days, and then 3 -2300 calorie drinking days will be the happy spot.

This would be tough for me, because none of the meals appeal to me. So it would be the grilled chicken on salad greens, dressing on the side, because I do not like salad dressing. I may or may not eat the croutons. I would have to stop for actual food on the way home.

I try to walk 30 minutes a day on my lunch. My evenings are busy.
-
I have a higher than average threshold and It was a four hour window at a cookout. I didn't even realize I had drank two whole bottles until my mother pointed it out the next day. But yes somedays it is all day, like Sunday at the pool. Pretty sure I took a 12 pack for my boyfriend and I and we came home with none.

I don't drink for a buzz and stop long before I am intoxicated.
-
Not so much a restraint issue. I can stop, but I like the taste and I like to socialize. I drank lite watered down beer last summer, but 6 go down fairly easily. I like the taste of beer, and have expanded my horizons to now like the micro brews.

Party pooper... ;) Seriously, I did cut out all alcohol for a year, but I drink socially and missed going out and drinking with friends. So I reintroduced it and I do want to keep it as part of my diet. I may not drink every night, but we can assume 3-5 nights a week, now that the weather is hot, I will be partaking in…

For instance, my favorite beer is 165 calories a bottle. If I drink 3 or 4 a night, that is 495-660 calories out of my 1200. How can I eat three healthy meals with the remaining 540 calories? I cant squeeze it all in. Saturday I drank two entire bottles of wine. I should not have ate saturday or sunday with all those…

My meals are measured. Like I eat an individual size yogurt for breakfast, salad purchased at same restaurant every day, etc.. My diet does not vary much. I know it is the alcohol. I cant fit food and alcohol into my daily log. It seems to be an either/or issue. It is not so much a logging issue, because I can easily log…
-
I know that my food is good because I generally eat the same rotation of meals and logged them log enough I know the exact calories. I did not log alcohol when I started drinking again last year. I could guarantee this is the issue that caused the 15lb gain.

I was wearing a size 12 jeans when I started. I have lost 10 lbs and can now wear the size 10s hanging in my closet

Or they never had emotional issues with food. I don't cook and the act of preparing a meal is my own personal hell. I eat because I have to and frankly, I turn into a Bigger "B" Witch, if I don't. Not everyone has emotional issues.

I did. I can't vouch for the other poster.

I had Chick fil a for dinner, which including a chicken sandwich and had a chocolate chip cookie when I got home. My total calories for the day came in at 1199. I had breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks today. It is not hard to eat 1200 calories and not starve.
