I have found good sources of support male and female. I think other offer different perspectives as well on how they achieve goals, lose weight, nutrition and working out. I can understand why some women aren't comfortable with be friends with guys. Every friend request I tried to send has a message. Most of my friends on…

Missed your comment that he is "not one to talk". I would just state that if he isn't going to make supportive comments then follow the rule of Thumper. "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." If he makes a comment ask if he wants to talk about it. He will either stop or engage in a discussion. Try to…

Sorry this is a challenge for you. I don't know you guys very well so I would say I can only offer that you try to get to the cause of what he is saying. This sounds very marriage counselorish but you should talk about this more. Express to him that it hurts or demeans you when he makes offhanded comments. My wife is in a…

I find Yoga X repetitive but it does help me.

If you looking to make this long term and you are uncomfortable with having sex, then if he really respects you he will back off and wait. Statistics say that if he gets his way the first time he will probably move on.

As out of shape as I am my flexibility and balance is just as bad. The first half you really get sick of downward dog. Right now I just exercise to lose weight. I am hoping at some point I actually like to work out. Tony has some words about it too. http://youtu.be/V2-CLZLqo4A

I really don't have words of encouragement but I know this has worked for me so far. I have been battling food addiction pretty much most of my adult life. If I wanted something, I would eat it. That is what has lead to me being overweight. Ever since February 9, 2012 I came to the conclusion I was addicted to…

Depends on what your goals are. If it is weight loss, yeah, it is a good indicator. For myself, my workout plan was nothing so doing something and being nutritionally responsible is always going to be better.

I am no scientist but I think that the time of day you weight yourself has many factors. The moons gravitational pull, earth's rotation might give slight (like a few 10th of a pound) difference. Also you body operation certain functions when you are asleep and while you are awake. We just have to look at the big picture.…

I second that. This is something very close to what I am doing lately as well. Although I haven't done pepper. I will have to try that.

There is something to be said for health aliment and genetics for being overweight but America hasn't gotten heavier for those reasons. As a country we have become less active and being nutritionally irresponsible. That is why the vast majority of this country is overweight. If you analyze the data and look around the…

Spinach a touch of balsamic vinaigrette. A well prepared (yet nutritionally responsible) salad is a thing of beauty. Carrots, Broccoli and Cauliflower are my favorites after that.

Technically no but they are probably better than most things in the American diet.

I think I will start another round of P90X Classic. I just started P90X Classic (day 10) and some of my workouts need modifications. I think if I do another round of P90X Classic it will eliminate most of those. I am thinking I might start running 2-3 miles, 3-4 times a week to get more cardio on less cardio driven workout…

Good job. Looks like hard work paid off.

I don't have a negative tattoo view (oh, that rhymed) but there is nothing that is more of a disappointment when you see a beautiful woman in a wedding/bridesmaid dress and she has some tattoo that sticks out like a sore thumb on her back/chest/leg, etc.

Looks good. It looks like you represent the Steelers. I have no ill will toward Steeler fans (great fan base) but I make no apology for Super Bowl XLV. Go Pack! Good luck on the rest of your weight loss journey.

Live in St. Paul. Grew up my first 26 years in Wisconsin. Doing P90X at home. Plan to mix in some jogging in 3 weeks.

For me my starting weight total to my goal weight would probably be the combined weight of what my two little daughters weigh. I have always had that one in mind. They are only 16 months apart but only a pound or two separates them. When I have hit the 225-220 mark I will have "lost" one of my children. That is encouraging…

I would just try to remember it is a marathon, not a race. As long as you go down a few lbs a month I think you are probably doing okay. Some of us might hit big numbers but even that tapers off eventually. As far as food I am not an expert on it but I am an expert on my own relationship with food. Just over a month ago, I…

I started my last week on Monday. I had a few "should I run to the toilet" moments. I was sore this week up until a few days ago. I am doing the Classic module but I am also trying to lose weight. I would do cardio but building up strength is my secondary goal. Tony even says don't be embarrassed to hit the pause button. I…

I have lived the first 25 years of my life in Wisconsin. Since then I may have lived 10 of the last 12 years in the Twin Cities but in my heart, I am a Wisconsinite.

I gave up Facebook for Lent. Was getting too involved and I just wanted a break from it. I think MFP has replaced it. Most of the friends here I have never met in person but are a great source of motivation and encouragement. I hope to make more on here who are seeking motivation and encouragement.

I just posted almost this same question in the P90X forum. I am looking to add a little running after the first month (2-3 miles 3-4 times a week, on strength training days). I wouldn't hop into Doubles or anything. But you probably want to ease into this.

I agree with Phrak. It better to have an accurate number than one that makes us feel better. Lesson to be learned. It is easier to put on calories than take them off.
