  • I am doing P90X now but I am thinking of starting to run in about a month. I have been that person who is overweight. My mantra on this issue is "The older I get, more I just don't care what you think". My friends are my friends and will respect me no matter what. I don't really care what someone who I don't know thinks. I…
  • I just know that if I were to get married out of high school through my late 20s it would have been a train wreck. I was a different person then than I am now. I got married after I turned 30. I changed a lot since then mostly I think for the better. You will be a different person each time you come across your 20s, 30s,…
  • I concur. Even though I was overweight I knew my eating behaviors were the cause of it. People have to come to this realization first. Next is setting a exercise nutrition plan and sticking to it. The more they stick to this the more likelihood of success and healthy living. I know this is common sense but people that…

  • Sometimes eating crap and/or overeating is more mental than you think it is. They are probably trying (in some cases not all) to compensate or covering up something. Past abuse, depression, hopelessness, etc. I have been treating my love of overeating more like an addition for about a month now rather than treating it like…
  • When it comes to food there is not a lot of stuff I don't like. Well, in American cuisine. I just love food. My probably is eating too much of it, not setting any boundaries on amounts and really eating a lot of the bad stuff. But here are a few that might make the list. 1.) Top the Tater - a chip dip that is revered int…
  • That is pretty normal. I am 1 day shy of a month of eating better and I was at 261.2. Two weeks I was down to 251.4. Almost 10 pounds. Since then it has only been two weeks and I am currently at 246.4. A 5 pound weight loss is still pretty good but considerably slower. I may have another brief spurt here as I started P90X…
  • If you weigh yourself everyday don't live by the results. Take a few other suggestions on here and weigh yourself less frequently. Some weeks you could even gain weight but if you keep at it I bet you will lose something every month. Also weigh yourself at the same time of day if you don't already. I weighed myself on…
  • I don't know what went down but from what you describe I wouldn't handle it that way. My wife and I have been struggling with our weight even before we got married. It's not a fact that I want my wife to look good so much (although that would be an added benefit) but the fact I just want us to be healthy and live long…
  • It's definitely an eyebrow raiser. I ordered a heart rate monitor to get better readings so I hope I can input that information soon. But as other said, it's really none of our concern if they lie to themselves. If they wonder why they aren't getting results, then you may want to gently point it out to them.
  • I would concur with rachmox .
  • Never bought a gym membership but I wouldn't put too much stock in what he says. If it is working, great. He sounds like a pinhead.
  • Good story Jake. Thanks for the motivation.
  • Thanks for sharing your story. It was inspirational for me. I am also looking for people who have been on P90X that had a bigger weight loss goal somewhere around 50+ pounds to lose.
  • I don't have a problem doing it. He is my reasoning. If you drank water and then ate Crystal Light powder separately you could still count your water, wouldn't you? That being said it feels wrong to count anything else beyond that. Maybe tea. But it is hard for me to do it for diet soda. But I guess you could.
  • I would also say yes. My simple reasoning is if I drank water and then ate the drop in separately (ick, I know). What is any different than putting it in together and drinking it. As far as other things, specifically soda, that just doesn't feel right to count it as water even though it might be. Aldi makes a fruit punch…
