No, IMO keep your diet consistent, allow yourself one cheat meal per week to keep your sanity (included in your calorie allotment) and do one or two active rest days per week.

This is excellent advice for cutting! I would add diuretic veggies such as asparagus, raw fresh spinach and broccoli to help flush out excess water, toxins, lactic acid, etc. When you're ready to build you will want to have an appx 200 calorie surplus and lift heavier weights for fewer reps and do even less cardio.

I lost about 10% bf last year (very gradually). I had a tiny bit of cellulite in my tummy, but it's gone now. I guess it depends on how much you have to lose.
