I will have to try kegals.

I just started (again) last week and I don't do alternating sets. The gym I use isn't that big, but I prefer to do one thing at a time.

I have a pic of the label on some dip that says 6.99 servings. When I saw it I was like really, they couldn't add that .01 more in the tub.

I finished Workout 2!!!!
-
I bought the book almost 2 years ago and started it, but only got in 2 or 3 workouts and didn't finish those because I could keep my balance in the ball or do a push-up. I have since lost 30 pounds and decided to give it a try again. Did my first workout Monday and finished all but 2 push-ups and 2 prone-jack knifes (on…

In the book New Rules of Lifting for Women, it gives you a formula to calculate the calories you need for every day and the calories you need for days that you lift. Of course your numbers probably are different, but mine come out to be just under 300 "extra" for days I lift.

This. There are things I enjoy doing from time to time that I understand aren't my partners fav but they are willing to "give in" from time to time if I'm willing to "give in" from time to time and do things once in a while that aren't my fav.

Most liqueurs have around 100 calories per shot. Some have a few more some a few less. I'm not a huge drinker but if I have one or two with dinner I log my shot and order it with diet soda. I don't freak if that shot or two puts me too close for comfort to my calorie count. Now if I'm planning a big night out with friends…

This. But on Mondays.

The general "rule" is 8 - 8 ounce glasses a day. However, I also have read on a board here as well as on several other health related sites that you really should be drinking .5 ounces per pound you weigh. So a 160 pound person would need to drink 160 x .5 = 80 ounces = 10 glasses at 8 ounces a piece. You could also decide…

I will never qualify, but I looked into the pt standards out of curiosity and am thinking about following some of the guidelines to mix things up and help me lose some weight, get fitter, and possibly qualify for the reserves -- I'm looking for a new job and found several that I could excel at but you have to be in the…

I've slept with exs. In fact, did so yesterday with a guy I dated in 1996. We only dated a few months in college. Tried to remain friends which was hard for me because I thought he was the one and it took me a whole to get over him. We have stayed in tough over the years, saying hi on fb a few times a year. Out of the blue…

In the book, Getting Pregent: What Couples Need To Know Right Now, by Niels H. Lauersenand Colette Bouchez, they talk about this study... "Specifically, in a recent study conducted at Johns Hopkins University, forty-four women diagnosed with PCOD received twelve hundred milligrams of D-chiro-inositol daily for six to eight…

Also for those who are doing iui/Ivf, if you have any advice on funding it, I would love the information.

I've never been diagnosed with PCOS, but have a friend who has it. I was doing some research into iui/Ivf for myself and read about a study done at a major hospital that showed taking d-chiro-instiol helped those with PCOS with something like a 90% greater chance of getting pregnant. I tried to find it, but could only find…

I'm pretty sure we are all aware of how babies are made! We also know that losing weight makes it easier for those babies to be made...it helps us feel and look better, helps regulate hormones, helps to control disorders such as PCOS and diabetes and many others, and many other things that helps to get pregnant. Once…

I'm 36, 5' 9" and started at 237 about a year and half ago. I lost 25 or so then took a break. Got back up to 220 then decided it was time to start losing again. Gotten back down to 210. Want to get as low as I can but would be happy around 185. But at the same time that I'm trying to lose to be healthier, make getting…

I used the shoe sensor when I had/used the iPod 3rd gen. But switched just to the Nike Running app on iPhone 5, when I upgraded my phone last year. I find it pretty accurate using both gps and non gps. If I step on my street off my driveway and walk the loop of my neighborhood it is .7 miles according to my car and google…

In my experience Nike running/+ is pretty accurate. Haven't tried any others, but I would assume that if the app is GPS based it should be pretty accurate and/or their should be a way to calibrate it with a known distance -- you can do this with old school pedometers and the Nike app.

I have the jefit app to, but don't do too much strength trainnf right now, although I should.

I upgraded/switched to iphone 5 to eliminate gadgets. I would go to the gym and have my evo cell phone, my iPod 3rd gen with Nike+ attached and my HRM chest strap/watch. With the new iphone I could combine my music, nike+, and cell. Once I get a new HRM chest strap (with Bluetooth) I can eliminate the watch. I have the…

If you are using the zen labs c25k app and are going to have it post your workout to mfp, the speeds it will say you did is 4.0 and 5.2. When I saw this, I was a little freaked because I had been doing 3.5 and 4.5. Was in week 3 for the idk how many time, having never completed it (or a similar version) for a variety of…

[/quote] A 3,500 calorie deficit weekly from what your body needs would be 1 pound. If you calculated your tdee to include your exercise then you wouldn't need to eat back your calories. When I look at my tdee or bmr I say that I'm sedentary because I don't exercise on a regular basis, so I don't want to include something…
-
Figure out how many calories you need yourself. Find your tdee and then subtract 500 calories from it. That should give you right about 1 pound a week, without exercising. If you exercise you would need to eat back those calories.

I have meals named 12a - 4a, 4a - 8a, 8a - 12p, etc. in my food diary because not only do I want to see when I tend to eat/over eat, but also because of my work schedule I don't tend to eat at "breakfast" or "lunch" time.

The new version of c25k will send your workout data to mfp (it's part of the sharing feature when you finish a run). I tried the share to mfp today for the first time and it uploaded 2 cardio entries one for walking and one for running and how many minutes of each you did and the respective calorie burn. But I did not…
