It is possible to lose weight while breastfeeding. My daughter, who is a firefighter, is slowly loosing the weight she gained over her pregnancy. She doesn't really diet, but has begun making smarter food choices. Often she has 4 small meals instead of tree big ones. She also works out, and I think that has done a lot…

My main project is a sweater for my granddaughter. Also on the needles are legwarmers, a scarf, socks, and I am about to cast on a cowl for each of my sisters who ride motorcycles.

I did the surgery to improve my quality of life. It has been hard for me to learn the new signals my body gives for hunger, being full, when to quit, and not to eat or drink fast. As a retired teacher, I learned to eat quickly, now I am having to unlearn that. Things that bother me the most is the acid indigestion I get…

Thanks for all the tips. I find that most food that I used to enjoy tastes gross to me now. I used to really enjoy beef jerky, but I think it tastes off now. My sister gave me a jar of Nectar Fuzzy Navel that I use in the evening when I find I am still a little low on protein. 23 grams of protein isn't bad. But I keep…

Thanks for all the advice. I checked in with my Doctor's nurse, and she said try for at least 60 gms of protein. I did find a Chike chocolate protein shake that is pretty good, so I am going to try their other flavors also.

Thanks for the responses. I am calling my Doctor tomorrow to talk to the nurse. I may have gotten it wrong. I really dislike the protein drinks I have tried so far. That is part of my problem.

I think it depends upon the size you are to begin with. I was super-morbidly obese. 10 lbs. didn't do much to change my clothes size. Took more like 30 lbs. to go down a size. But I do believe for those people with not so much to lose, 10 lbs can make a great different in what size they wear.

I don't knit for profit, but belong to several knitting lists where knitting for profit has been discussed. Unless you are a super speedy knitter and know people who will pay close to what it is worth, you will be knitting for pennies on the hour. I like to knit socks. I skein of luxury sock yarn, can sometimes run $20 or…

Hello all, I am a 60 year old grandmother, who was taught to knit by her mother when I was 8. Been knitting, crocheting, embroidering, doing counted cross stitch, and needlepoint. Right now I knit whenever I can. I usually have a small portable knitting project, like socks, in my purse.

I would check with your Doctor about the fasting. It might depend upon the type of weight loss surgery you have had. If you surgery consists of a mal-absorption technique, I would definitely check with your surgeon about the fasting.

I am morbidly obese. Down from super morbidly obese. It isn't easy, I just tell myself that it took years to put the weight on, it won't disappear over night. I am a single grandmother raising a granddaughter with a lot of mental health issues. So I can understand how hard it can be to raise a child alone. First just try…

Hello all. I had a gastric bypass on 8/22/2012. I am sort of at a loss of what to say. I have wanted this surgery for years, but things didn't come together until this year. I would like to get down to a size 16 at least, so I have a very long row to hoe.
