I am in Columbia, getting ready to move back to St Peters in a few weeks - nice to meet you :)

I think you have to realize that some of us came from being embarrassed about showing ANY skin and when you can go from that to being able to say 'Look what I did!' to your friends on MFP you do it not only to be confident and proud, but also to prove that they can do it too; to inspire others to what hard work and…

I'm getting ready to finish week 5 tomorrow and I am throughly enjoying the program. As for the criticism about the program's setup, all I can say to that is that i have never had such great results in terms of definition and I have done a few other 12 week programs from Rachel Cosgrove and from Women's Health and this is…

I am in Phase II but I loved Phase I so I wanted to stop by and wish good luck to you all! :drinker:

I really enjoy the challenge for the support - I like seeing the recipes, hearing the motivational songs, etc. Wonder if we could share our favorite websites, books, etc? I'm always looking for new ideas

Favorite Recipe - Protein Pancakes 1 cup of egg whites or liquid egg whites 1 cup of low sodium cottage cheese 1 cup of whole grain oats Vanilla Whey protein powder (1 scoop if you have large scoop, 2 if it's a smaller scoop) You can make this peanut butter protein pancakes by using PB2 or pumpkin protein pancakes by…

I am so sorry for you; I know from experience how hard it is to go through that. My ex left me a few days before I had my youngest son. My older son was 4 and I had a newborn. I was panicked, in a financial crisis and I felt like the world was falling in. The husband situation would be hard enough and it breaks my heart to…

So....I forgot to do this yesterday and that sucks because I was excited to share songs!!! For the gym, I have lots of music, Eminem is great for when you need to feel badass - Rabbit Run is a lesser known song of his but the lyrics are applicable 'sometimes I just wanna up and call it quits, I feel like I'm surrounded by…

Thanks for the input. I will be living in the St Louis area and they have the Rock and Roll series come through there, so I could do that one but I was thinking, with such a major goal, it might be fun to go somewhere else and make it a celebration too. Thanks for the congrats on the half marathon...I've found that each of…

Are you married or have family around that could help? If so, it would great if you could ask them to help you out, cover some of the errands or pick up your child or take them a few times a week while you exercise. You could also get a DVD program that you could do in the morning for 30 min or in the evening. I understand…

Oooh, thanks for sharing - I think I will use my Peanut Butter & Co PB instead of Nutella! :)

What motivates me is that I am constantly in competition with myself and constantly trying to prove to myself that I can do better than I ever thought possible. I am also motivated by the goal of becoming a personal trainer, knowing that I want to be a motivation and example to other people is a huge motivation. I also…

Amazing job everyone!! Thanks for keeping track of everything, Cass - we really appreciate all the work that must go into keeping everything updated and everyone motivated!:flowerforyou:

I hope you all had a great weekend! I had a pretty good one with lots of rest following my all nighter working on Thursday. Anybody got anything going on this week? I am looking forward to this coming weekend for my very first Warrior Dash and then celebrating 100 years of Mizzou Homecoming. I am going to be very good all…

We might be related!! (2,3,4,7 - concert band, 9 are me too!)

That's a good idea....I was thinking something that meant 'I did it!' that wouldn't be weird or need a lot of explaining, like 'Why do you have a scale tattooed on your forehead?' I hadn't thought of that yet! I would like it to be somewhere I can see it everyday as a reminder but somewhere I could cover it up…

I love everyone's lists! I've learned I have something (or quite a few somethings) in common with all of you!

I made daily goals for myself this week, has been kinda fun, they've been able to keep me grounded in a week that is extremely busy for me. Examples are: finish eating by 8 pm, add spinach to my protein shake, try a new recipe, no processed foods today, etc. I'm a goal-a-holic ;)

I'm running behind right now: 10 things that make Apryl awesome: 1. I have 3 tattoos (one of Curious George) 2. I ran my first half marathon last month and plan on running a marathon eventually (hopefully next year) 3. I am a landlord against my will; I had a house I couldn't sell after a divorce and have had to rent it 4.…

My favorite workout so far has been Rachel Cosgrove's Female Body Breakthrough Fine Tune Phase alternating between 2 workouts 3 days per week for 4 weeks I liked these so much because they contained a barbell complex at the beginning and were really tough. If you are wondering about the numbering, you go 1, 2 and then…

Awesome job on the strength gains!!!!

I start off by writing really good goals that have realistic deadlines and rewards (like a massage, a new outfit or a mani/pedi) attached so that I'm excited about 'earning' them and then I put up pictures of what I aspire to - I put them where I cannot avoid them and change them if I start to get used to them. I also…

I agree about sharing more recipes - I love having something new to try when I get tired of my go-to meals!

While you can't spot reduce (if you could, I would have already gotten rid of the remaining fat on my stomach covering my abs!) what has worked for me has been upping the weights in my training program and HIIT training with my cardio workouts. Plyometrics have also helped because I have lost a lot on my thighs.

I tried it - it did not work all and I was completely compliant. I have heard (a few years later) that the 'scientific study results' they cite were paid for BY them and that is the only one they reference in the media, on their website, etc. It really, really doesn't work and is extremely expensive for what you are…

So for my favorite recipe, it's hard because I have so many favorites, so I will cheat and share a few....I get a lot from www.skinnytaste.com and recommend you check it out too but here are a few I've made up. First - Fage 2% Yogurt 7 oz, 12 g of OhYeah! Vanilla Creme or Cookies & Creme protein powder and 14 g World Table…

Thanks soooo much, Cass! It was cute because they had made little signs and everything and my little 4 year old saw me walk up to them and immediately held up his 'WAY' (for WAY TO GO!) sign upside down ;)

So sorry about this! I will be praying for you because I know sometimes it just feels like everything goes wrong at once! ***hugs***

Saturday was my first half marathon and I carbed up for it, which helped fuel me through the race and get a great finish time but not so hot for the scale, plus yesterday was a rest/recovery day. I don't doubt this is temporary fluctuation but still hard to record for the weigh in. Looks like everyone has been doing really…

There's a great thread about it that you can find here that should be able to answer the questions http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/226488-intermittent-fasting-support-group?page=18 Also, you could check out Eat Stop Eat or www.leangains.com for more information (what you are referring to sounds a lot like the Lean…
