I have a Polar FT7. I basically did the same as you, asked people what they recommended and Polar seemed very popular. When I got mine I got sick so I haven't used it yet so I can't tell you how it goes sorry..

I also stuggle with controlling the appetite on the weekends. I have found being busy helps. But I tend to be driving on weekends visiting my boyfriends parents and such and going past McDonalds and the like is really difficult. I have been heaps better since I started using MFP but not that good!

I also have bad knees ( my knee caps are tilted which puts pressure on the outside of the joint). Do some leg strengthening exercises like the leg press. You could also try strapping your knee. That could help with the tracking issue when you run...

Not all sugars are the same. Try to stay away from sugars added in foods (but you also need to be careful there cause if you buy no added sugar things they could be much higher in other things such as salt and fat). My mother has a book that is really informative about sugar. Its called 'Sweet Poison" by David Gillespie. I…

Focus on yourself. When they see or hear how happy you are, how much confidene you have gain in your new lifestyle they may want to follow your lead and make a change for themselves. Other than that, there really isn't much you can do that you probably haven't already done.

Soups are always good. If you buy them be careful of the sodium in them as it can be really high. And try to stay away from the ones in cans, go for ones in the bowls. Plus it's really easy to make your own. Pumpkin and sweet potato are my favorites. The sweet potato one I make I use a magic bullet and make a single serve:…

You need to wait more that 9 days before you can say its not working. Plus at only 64 kgs your really not very heavy so it will take longer to loose weight. Just be careful not to eat too little as it can cause your body to go into 'starvation mode' and you won't loose anything. Good luck on your journey :)

I don't like the fruit either! Only in fruit salad or something like that. Cut up? I'll give it a go. But whole? No way! haha

I'm Jacqui. Aged 20 and live between Newcastle and Cessnock (Hunter Valley - right near the wine country). Would absolutely love some friends and support from closer to home. Everyone please feel free to add :)

The only reason I could think is that maybe because a person is heavier they may be happier to still be a little bit heavier than others because they are already bigger. I would imagine that once they get down close to their goal weight they will adjust it to a lower weight because they have proven to themselves that they…

Once there lived a prince and a troll that liked pumpkins that were bumpy. They sold seeds to elves for pickles because their chickens couldn't have calories because they loved dynamite. The chickens decided to go overseas in a boat called the Titanic. The captain was not smart, he used Pancakes on his poopdeck with syrup.…

If you are constantly eating under your calories and you want to amend it, you need to be considerate of it for the whole day. Have a little more breaskfast, an extra snack, or that sort of thing so you don't come to the end of the day to find you have excess calories.

I did it for nearly the whole year last year. It's great exercise and really fun especially if you do it with a couple of friends. Really builds the arm muscles and really good for the belly muscles too. I only stopped due to money issues (I didn't have any haha). I would definitetly suggest you give it a try :)

If you lose some weight youare going to have some excess skin. This will, however, decrease once the weight is off. As others have suggested water and continued exercise (both cardio and strength) will help. Some say it can months or even years for the excess skin to be gone. With you being young I would doubt it would…

I made a really nice pork schnitzel recipe from a cook book I have at home. I will put the recipe up when I'm home tonight..

Yum! Absolutely love mushrooms. Definitely trying this!

I weigh in once a week. I had the same problem when I started using MFP wanting to fall into the bad habits on the weekends. After a few weeks I found I didn't like eating the bad stuff anymore. The first few weekends might be hard with you having to be very strick with yourself but once you get into a habit and your body…
