My cheat meal (lunch) was Shake Shack and it was very high in sodium. The next day I gained 2 lbs from the sodium. But 48 hours later the 2 lbs was gone and I have been stuck. That was a week ago today.

I am certain my calories are correct. I have a scale and I measure things that aren't already portioned. Also, I will say my eating habits are drastically different than before I was dieting. I have cut a lot of carbs and sugars out and my portions are now what they are supposed to be.

I weigh myself the same time in the morning wearing the same thing and I weigh myself everyday (I know that is bad, but it works for me when I lost weight before because if I gain it is usually because I had too much sodium or went over in my calories that week). I am sticking to my calorie goal, but I am starting to think…

I am so glad I read everyone's posts. I have continued with my diet and exercise and I finally lost 4 pounds this week. My weight had stayed the same and actually went up a pound on two. I took my measurements last night and couldn't believe the difference. So anyone that is frustrated with the scale, just be patient. Hard…

Thanks! I don't have nearly as much weight to lose that my friend does who is on Medifast. So I know my results will be completely different. She is probably my size now after losing 80+ lbs (size 10). I would like to go back to a size 6 (I know I will never be a size 2/4 again). Also, I have been using the calories for…

Thank you everyone! It helps to get reassurance because it keeps me motivated. I am finally doing something for myself. I have neglected myself for years (I have been consumed being a good mother, wife, teacher, etc.). I am now putting me first, without neglecting my other roles. I am not that overweight, but I know I am…

I am wondering then if I should eat any of my exercise calories then. MFP suggests 1270 calories a day and when I only used to eat that amount I lost weight. I typically eat more on workout days 1270-1600. I eat most of the exercise calories from running and the Jillian Michael's DVD.
-
Also, I don't want to stop exercising because I do feel better....however, a friend of mine is on Medifast and has lost 75 lbs and looks amazing and added exercise a couple months ago and it also made her weight loss stop. The Medifast consultant told her to stop exercising because it was causing her stop losing weight, so…

I don't think I am overestimating my exercise calories. I am running on a treadmill and put my weight it and it records calories burned. It matches the MFP exercise calculator.
-
BTW - I have also increased my water intake (even though I don't log it in on MFP). I drink plenty water because I was told that would help.

I only eat them when I am hungry. If you aren't hungry then why eat them? That is my rule. I would say I eat them 50% of the time.

I would open your food diary so we can see what you are eating and the amount. Also, I would take measurements and before/after pics. I know in the beginning, especially when I just started exercising, I didn't lose, but actually gained. My muscles were holding a lot of water. Also, how much water are you drinking? That…

Thank you everyone! I did week 1 of Ripped in 30 for 2 weeks and now I have switched to 30 day shred. I really like 30 day shred. I plan on following this DVD for the next month and then I will switch back to Ripped in 30. I really need to measure and take pics for myself. I bought a pair of pants that I really want to get…

I am also eating 1200 calories a day and have had success. I have lost around 10 pounds so far and want to lose another 20 pounds. I think the key is eating healthy calories (ex. lean meat, vegetables, fruits, etc.). Also, I have been exercising and I don't always eat the extra calories I get from it. If I am hungry I do,…

Thank you for sharing! What an inspirational story. I am glad I took the time to read this. I wish you continued success!

My diary is open to the public now

My current exercise consists of only cardio at this point. I plan on adding strength training soon. I run/walk 3-5 days a week. Last week I did it 5 days. (14 minutes of jogging and 24 minutes of brisk walking). I can't run the whole thing yet, because I am out of shape. I used to be able to run 3 miles without stopping,…

Thank you everyone! I completely understand that yo- you dieting is awful for my body. I just can't break the cycle - when I am stressed I eat or crave bad, unhealthy foods! I have never been overweight until I hit my 30's. I have always been very thin (size 4/6) until I got older. Now I am a 12 and hate it! I gained 22…

Also, this time I started exercising and eating lower calories at the same time. In the past I did not start exercising until after I lost 20-25 pounds. I feel like concentrating only on my diet worked better for me, but I know that makes no sense. I need both exercise and a better diet.
-
Also - I drink plenty of water every day (plain water and propel zero). I drink 1 diet soda every other day.
-
I was eating around 1500-1700 before and no weight loss and was told I was eating too much. So I reduced it to 1200-1400. I am confused!

Thank you everyone! I did fine for breakfast and lunch today. Got home from work and literally could eat a huge snack before dinner. I am going to have to control myself and exercise more if I eat extra calories.
-
Thanks for the reply. I really hope I overcome this. I am starving right now and I ate my normal breakfast, which usually holds me off for 3-4 hours. Ughhhhhh!

I am sort of PMSing. I had the Mirena IUD "inserted" on Friday and I have been spotting and cramping for 3 straight days. I really appreciate all of the advice I am getting on here. Everyone has been great and supportive. Also, I am learning a lot on here as well.

Has anyone else gained this much in a short time period? If so, did you lose it after a couple days? It almost makes me not want to ever splurge again. I don't want food to be my enemy, but I also want to be able to splurge without having to gain weight so fast.

BTW - I am 5'9" and would like to get to 150lbs
-
I am 38 years old and I am 5'9" and would like to get to 150 lbs. I never struggled with my weight until I reached the age of 30. In my 20's I was a size 2/4 and weighed 130-135. My metabolism has completely changed since my 30's, but I also wasn't eating right. I have been a size 8 -12 the past 5-6 years. I lose weight…
