Hi, I've been vegan for around 18 month. I would love some more vegan friends on MFP. Feel free to add me :)

I'm vegan (for around 18 months now) and would love some more MFP friends for encouragement and motivation! :)

I was up to week 5 or 6, but I had some knee issues and my physio told me to stop for a while. I'll be starting the program again soon.
-
I'm also in Tassie! Feel free to add me :)

Thanks for the tip, I've been using the elliptical at the gym when the weather isn't great, so will have to remember this!

Ooh, is it a new app? I'll have to check it out! :) EDIT: doesn't look like it's available for android yet :(

Have you got bluetooth turned on? You should definitely be able to sync with your phone. Otherwise use the little dongle the fitbit came with to sync to your computer... I've not used a computer to sync so I don't know the details as to how to do it, but yes your computer will need to be turned on.
-
Yeah, the app seems to sync some sections faster than others. Last night it was saying that I was both Over budget, and that I still had 100 calories left to eat.
-
hm... I have never had a problem with syncing... maybe post in the fitbit help forums?
-
Fitbit takes into account your calories burned during activities when it lists the calorie adjustment in MFP, so it subtracts the calories burnt during your run (synced from runkeeper to MFP then MFP to fitbit, lol) and adjusts accordingly. For example if I log a run in runkeeper and it estimates that I burnt 400 calories,…

Agreed. Also, as an Australian, the nutritional panels of food in Australia don't list fibre as a carb, it's already subtracted from the total carb number... so if I log some Australian products, and some generic (U.S.) products, there's really no way to know what the net carbs are, as some of the items may have already…

The step count from your phone won't be as accurate as a fitbit, since you won't always have it on you, sometimes it might be in a bag etc etc. Which style of fitbit did you get? Because if you got the flex (wrist band) and you do a lot of movement with your arms throughout the day, it could be logging arm movements as…
-
I have the one, and I love that I can clip in to my bra, keep it in a pocket on a belt etc... it just seems more versatile if you don't always want to have the band around your wrist. Also I've heard that the flex counts more steps than the one due to arm movements, and you might have the same problem with needing to…

I actually read the last Mayfair witches book first (a friend lent it to me), then the second (I saw it in an airport bookshop) and bought the first one a little while ago but haven't read it yet. I really enjoyed the other two, maybe the added mystery of not knowing any of the back story made them more enjoyable? haha

Have you read anything by Jack Ketchum? http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Ketchum/e/B001HMPRV2

Wow, those pancakes look AMAZING!!!

Week 3 Day 2... Getting through the running intervals (just!). My knees are starting to complain though :/
-
The Fictional Woman - Tara Moss. I would definitely recommend it :)

Fitbit will measure all your steps throughout the day, however if you want more visibility for certain activities, for example if you wanted to see how many steps you took/how far you went when you go for a run/use the treadmill etc. you can log it as an activity in fitbit, it doesn't change the total step counts or…

Have you read Terry Pratchet?

Thanks, I have MFP set to sedentary ( I work in an office) and understand that fitbit will give me a negetive calorie adjustment if I don't do enough steps to even reach that level (there is a negetive adjustment most mornings until I've done a few hundred to a 1000 steps) But this morning the fitbit it adjustment on MFP…

My box of assorted quest bars arrived yesterday! I tried the cookies and cream one, I could definitely taste the stevia in it, but it wasn't as bad as some other low carb protein bars I've tried and I think I could get used to the taste. Looking forward to trying more flavours!

Wow the app I'm doing (Zombies, Run! 5K) starts of with 15 second running intervals (1 min walking, 15 seconds jogging x 10), week two is 1 minute walking 30 seconds jogging x 5.... and I'm struggling with that, there is no way I would be able to jump straight in to a 90 second jog. Maybe try a different program?

Just finished: The Immortal Crown (Age of X #2) - Richelle Mead In the middle of: The Fictional Woman - Tara Moss

The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons, set in Russia during WWII and the Leningrad siege... absolutely devastating and heartbreaking, but so so beautiful. My favourite book in the world.

Well Done!! I'll be doing W3D1 tomorrow morning! :)

I have a fitbit. It's good motivation to get up and move, as it really highlights how sedentary I am (work in an office). I think there are probably better options on market though, when I was looking to buy I originally wanted to get the withings pulse O2, it does what the fitbit does but it can also measure your…
