So many great responses from both sides! :) I made it a point not to say "Judge" in my OP and I was surprised so many people were throwing that word around. When I said I 'view' someone's success differently if they've had weight loss surgery, I never implied that it was cheating or that they deserved their success any…

I think its a wonderful idea! I try to avoid eating out as much as possible but sometimes I have to grab something on the run and I can't tell you how many times I've had to guess on calorie content and how many restaurants don't know the calorie content of ANYTHING they serve

When I was about 12 years old or so my Grandmother come to visit and made it a point to take me aside. She sat me down and told me that I needed to lose weight and that I would have a horrible life if I didn't. She said that I would never be able to get a good job because companies won't hire fat people, I would never get…

Hey there! Don't beat yourself up about getting motivated. Starting to lose weight is the hardest part because all you can see is how far you have to go. I know EXACTLY how you feel right now, I started out at 282lbs and I cried when I realized how close to 300lbs I was. Just start with baby steps, like cutting out the…

Before I started losing weight I would have said that weight didn't matter at all and I would be with someone of any size but I've noticed that as my weight changes so does my perspective. Just as a relationship between someone who is very religious and an athiest would be strained at times I think it can be hard to have a…

Never thought of it that way, what a great perspective!

Don't worry, it's not as far as you think and once you fall back into good habits you're going to start feeling great in a hurry! I fell off the wagon last year in a big way! I started out at 282lbs and lost 40lbs then the holidays hit and I gained back almost every last lb. I started up again in February at 279 and I'm…

Take a picture of yourself in the baggy clothes and take a picture of yourself in you fitting clothes, once you SEE how much thinner you look it should help you FEEL how great you look!
-
I started out at 282lbs so I know how daunting it can be starting out near/at the 300lbs mark. It's like stepping off a cliff but I can promise that even though it won't always be fast or easy it is ALWAYS worth it. I'll send you a friend invite, add me if you like. You sound like you're ready and I know you can do it!!!

I was super shy at first but once I started classes I LOVED them :) I take Zumba (LOVE IT!) and some weight training. It's also nice to take them with someone you know. My sister and I used to do Zumba together before my work schedule changed. I don't work with a trainer yet but I'm thinking of investing in one to make…
