  • I too agree it is high, unless of course you were running uphill the whole time at that speed and your heartrate was super high the whole time..... I have found that when Iwas 150 lbs that I burned aprox 110 calories per mile whether I was running or walking. (walking of course takes longer to burn the 110 calories) The…
  • This sounds FABULOUS!!! I will be trying this very soon! I have added those items to my shopping list. Thanks! PS I think you can add other seasonings to the yogurt to change it up.
  • I have a couple ideas. First if you do indulge in a trainer, write down EVERYTHING they have you do and keep a log, this way when you are on your own you should have several workouts to choose from. Second maybe to get more bang for your buck, can you do group session? With maybe 2-3 people, lower the cost and get more…
  • We both have about the same amount of weight to lose. Feel free to add me if you would like. I love having friends to chat with and help keep on track.
  • Buttered popcorn at the movies.....and of course the "M" word, but have been trying to avoid that one so I can jump start my weight loss.
  • I can run, but I too get winded and want to walk. I just started training for 1/2 ironman and my coach is having my run without taking any walk breaks....But you have to go at a pace that you can sustain for 30, 40, or 50 min (or how ever long you want to go.) I started at 5.0 on the treadmill, my girlfriend started at…
  • Try a Chocolate protein shake with peanut butter added in. I use maxpro by max muscle. It is great. I drink one every night right before bed. The protein keeps my matabolism working through the night and I get my chocolate fix at the same time. I also make it with "Unsweetened" Vanilla Almond Milk, this reduces the sugars…
  • I think you need to weed them from your Friend garden, for truly they are nothing more than a weed in your life.
  • I love my protein shakes. I buy Maxpro from Max Muscle chocolate and vanilla. I mix them with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I take protein to increase my protein count for the day as my nutritionist has me eating 175 grams of protein a day. I get 60 of that through my shakes. (1 in the morning & 1 right before bed).…
  • I agree with thise above. it is very important to get fitted for your running shoes if you are planning on during lots of running. It took me a couple pairs to find the perfect fit. If I try something different, I start having knee problems. (I pronate slightly and I wear asiacs kyanos, pricey but worth every penny.)
  • I have a protein shake mixed with unsweetened almond milk, a piece of 100 calories toast and add 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. This gives you a good balance of protein, carbs & fat to start the day off. I follow it with 24 oz of water with in an hour and I am usually too full for my morning snack.
  • What are you doing that is causing the injury? What is the injury?
  • Maybe you are low on Iron. Another thought...are you on any medications? My brother was taking a pill for acid reflux (can't remember the name) and he started to experience muscle weakness.
  • While you may lose weight fast, you WILL put it back on twice as fast once you start eating carbs.
  • I seriously had to look twice to make sure it was the same person. That is amazing. Great job.
  • Thanks for making me laugh!
  • I am in for 75 miles.
  • Good for you! This is my vice also. Working on the sugar vice, then I will work on this one. Keep going you can do it.
  • I am so sorry to hear about your breast cancer....But you can not let that be the end of living. You are truly only as beautiful as you feel. So pick yourself up and figure out what kind of exercise you can do. Make a plan and just do it. You owe it to yourself and your friends and family. If you start moving again you…
  • I have a pair of CEP calf socks (they go from ankle up to the knee). I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I originall y bought them for traveling on planes and exercise recovery, but use them mostly when I get RLS (restless leg syndrome). They are so worth the money. Most runing stores have some version of compression sock, just shop…
  • Welcome. I wish I had time to ride as much as you do.
  • Nov 9th 15 miles today on the spin bike. 15 today / 39 total / 150 goal.
  • First make sure you are wearing "good" shoes not cheap old ones. A good pair of shoes are worth every penny. Go to a good shoe store and get fit for the right kind of shoe. I know when my knees start hurting it is because my shoes are wearing out, (even though they look fine on the outside). I would also suggest swimming.…
  • I am in for 150 miles. Even though most of them will be indoors since the weather is now changing to snow here in Utah. Plus with the time change coming this weekend, it will be dark by the time I get off work.
  • I agree with the thin crust veggie and try to stick to 1-2 pieces. Maybe drink a protein shake before you go so you are not as hungry and this would give you some protein to offset the carbs.
  • I get thier grilled chicken and spinach salad and add all the other veggies you like. I skip the cheese. I double the chicken. I only use salt & Pepper and vinegar for the dressing. It is great..lo calorie and nutritious. Yum!
  • Ok I am in for 200. Thant has been my goal for the past two months and I am yet to hit it. Going on vacation for 10 days and will be doing lots of riding so I should be able to make it this month. Happy Cycling to all. Leslie
  • One thing I have done to reduce my sugars is to make my protein shakes with "UNSWEETENED" Vanilla Almond milk. It is more expensive but the calories and sugars are much lower. I think it would taste great on cereal. You might want to give it a try. Other than that, I agree with most comments above, MFP numbers are too low…
  • Good core strength can actually help you be a better bike rider, but I don't think it really improves your core significantly, but I may be wrong. Actually swimming would be a great exercise to work your core. And it is not stenuous either. It gives you a great all over workout. Helps to lengthen and strengthen you body…
  • I like to buy low carb whole wheat tortillas that have some protein in them. I make wraps or chicken Quesadea's with them and use only a small amount of owfat cheese. Also those 100 calorie sandwhich thins are great. I also love brown rice, you can serve it with about anything.
