Yes, I typically log my cheat days. It helps me keep track of the effects of my actions - or inaction's. It also makes me hesitate on my next cheat day and maybe eat a little less or cutback in other meals as not to completely destroy the count for the day. To me, there is no point in not being honest on our logs. We are…

Juicing is the ONLY thing that has worked for me. I too have an Omega and it gets used on an average of 3-5 times a day, 5+ days a week. I do a Monday-Detox every week, at the least (typically 3 days) and I feel terrific! I save and freeze the pulp to make soups and stuff with on the weekends. Did you say you juice 1600…

I've been juice-fasting 4-5 days a week for the last 4+ weeks (less than 500 calories a day) and it is working great for me! I will probably include a 3-day juice-fast every week if I'm going to feel this good!

Anybody with great cheekbones like that CAN'T look too bad! OWN 'em! Do you know what women pay for cheekbones like that???

Fish, coconut, avocados... And I adore cheese, but try to avoid it as much as possible (cutting down on dairy)....

Remember to log your weight first thing in the morning after you have used the toilet... As for the scales, I'd probably estimate a number between the 2. I returned 2 scales before I found one that I felt was closest to my doctor's scales at his office. You know those get calibrated on a regular basis. I just made sure I…

Just water and ice cubes...

I've had a healthy lifestyle for decades, but a rare illness messed it all up for me. I've spent 6 years trying to figure out what will work for me and this place has helped. Right now I am juicing (not steroids) - and fasting 4-5 days a week and only solid food on the weekends. It is working great for me, but I'll admit…

Keep up the good work and ignore her remarks. Live by EXAMPLE. Maybe after she gets used to seeing how well you feel, it will finally motivate her to try again. Congratulations on your weight loss. You know you'll get plenty of pats-on-the-back from all of us here!

Yes. I'm not currently able to get much exercise, and at 1200 calories, I was losing nothing but my sanity... I cranked it WAY down (I'm petite and small-boned) and finally lost 12lbs in one month. It's the only thing that works for me.

Hopefully, this site will one day enable them to look back on it and realize what they ate and what they were doing didn't work..? The calorie counter has helped me immensely.

I WISH I could eat it every day! if I could, I doubt once a day would be harmful in any way. I'm supposed to be taking fish-oil pills every day (hate them!). But yes, do mind your charts - but it appears you are doing well.

I enjoyed reading your post. You are a good writer, by the way! Keep going and keep the healthy mindset. You want to stick around to see your kids grow up and be there for them. And hang out here a lot for all the moral support you can get. You can add me too if you would like? I'm in a similar pickle barrel but different…

My advice: don't beat yourself up just yet. School just started and I found with any new routine that it takes up to a month to adjust and get it all figured out. I'm on a new routine myself (about a month) and have it mostly figured out, but still have a couple of kinks to work out. I think you can do it. Don't let it…

Yes, it is possible. I'm juice-fasting 5 days a week and took off 12lbs. A typical day for me is under 500 calories. It is the only thing that works for me - especially while I am doing research and writing most of the day. I am getting no "real" exercise right now. I do eat solid food on the weekends and yes, my weight…

How ironic... I want to lose weight so I can get a lift and reduction! I had Cushing's Syndrome which blew up not only my entire body, but my top half from a nice, comfortable 34B to a 38D/DD! I HATE it! And no, when I lose weight, it doesn't come off up there. It aggravates the arthritis in my back and I can't sit at a…

Damn! You guys really make me feel fat now! I'm 5'2-1/2, 148 (as of today) and have just gotten BACK into my size 12's!!! Yes, I have the figure of a bowling pin, but still... Sure, I know, it depends on the brand of jeans, also... What is frustrating for me is that 12's were once my "fat jeans." Whenever I'd have to be on…

I think the calorie intakes here are set high also. I'm supposed to be 1200 a day. At the time, I often kept it under that + 350-400 calorie-burning exercise daily... I lost NOTHING. I've had to go on a juice-fast 5 days a week and seriously cut my calorie intake in order to loose any weight at all. It's perfect for me…

Yes, it's called "positive reinforcement." It praises you for staying under, but silent (in anger and shame - j/k) for going over... It's motivational!

I'm juice-fasting for my cleanses, however, I wanted to report that I too get headaches on the first day back to my cleanses after the weekends. Yesterday was more painful than last week, however, I had way too much sodium this past weekend vs the previous. I think the headaches have a lot to do with detoxing. By Tuesdays,…

She is correct. There are typically very bad side effects to anti-depressants and "buzz" stimulates and pain killers. Even pot will make you hungry... I totally agree with ROCKLAD's suggested list. If it doesn't work for you, then consider talking to your doctor about therapy or something. (maybe you just need talk-therapy…

I'd be on the fence... Many years ago, I lost 20lbs and my rings no longer fit. 5 years later, my weight didn't change so I took the chance and had several sized down (including my class ring) thinking it was "safe." Then I get an endocrine disease a few years later that blew me up 90lbs and 5 years later, I still can't…

I've been into health-food most of my life, but last year when I experimented with vegetarianism, I found that red meat gave me acne within 2 days of consuming even one meal... Yes, I went back to meat after a few months (chicken, fish) but it was a lesson well learned... Recently, I've been into juice-fasting with…

I saw on "The Doctors," I believe, that you should NOT snack. You should eat no more than 3 meals a day and nothing in-between. Personally, I think it's fine to stay under your calorie count some...

This site helped me prove to not only myself, but my doctors that I was doing nothing wrong, yet my weight loss seriously stalled-out after surviving a serious illness... Since then I've been able to pursue more drastic measures to kick-start my system again. This site helps for sure.

Okay, you guys will probably think I'm totally weird, but I stopped mine with organic apple cider vinegar. I add a teaspoon of it into nearly every glass of water I drink. No, it's not an overnight cure, but I already got Osteoporosis from another illness and taking long-term prescription meds was not a good option - they…

I agree with most everyone... It is a lot of reasons, none good. Processed foods with too much preservatives, hormones and other additives is a BIG factor, I think... Increased sedentary lifestyles... Cheap fast food...

I hope he getting vegetables, or equally nutritious food? It would be hard to give him a "computer-diagnosis," but could it be possible a bad marriage could be driving him to stay out exercising all the time? I realize he's had a health-scare and some of it could be anxiety-related, but maybe he could be convinced to try…

Facebook has a good Vegetarian page. I'm only a part-time vegetarian, but I've found some great ideas and recipes on there... I've had to give up beef/red meat almost entirely. Took 30 years, but I finally figured out it was what was making my face break out with zits...(too many hormones in the beef!!!) I stick to chicken…
