  • I think a lot of educated women are waiting to have children. When you are a little older and have had a chance to save some money to handle the extra expense of a child, I think it is easier. My generation had a lot more younger women having babies. The advantage of being younger is that you have more energy to run around…
  • I was anorexic in high school. I worked on eating a healthier diet after I left for college, since I was able to get out of my house and was around students who weren't as cruel as high school students can be. While I was anorexic, I ate just a few calories. It didn't matter how thin I was, I still saw myself as fat when I…
  • I have suffered anxiety and depression since childhood after repeated sexual attacks and abuse. I have been treated for anxiety for 35 years. I haven't had a serious panic attack for 30 years and I have been through some pretty traumatic experiences. There are definitely many answers for it. Yes, panic attacks can make you…
  • Hilarious! Do people think that's a sexy look? I tell you, from my experience, about 3% look sexy that way and the rest look like fools!! LOL! Thanks for a happy start to "hump day".
  • Big difference in the legs and back. I think in the before pics you were holding your stomach in (because of the way the muscles are standing out) and in the after you were just relaxed. Also, you are smiling before and not after...probably makes you see yourself not looking as well in the front. You are definitely…
  • Sounds like you may not be stretching enough before you start. Also, you might want more padding in your shoes and try tying your shoes looser. If it doesn't stop, I would see a sports Dr. or therapist. You could end up straining your calf muscles or getting shin splints. Good luck! Happy running!
  • Very little :( Would love something to snack on...
  • Everyone's bodies lose differently. Don't be discouraged...you are losing weight and getting healthier with each pound! I also imagine it makes a big difference what you are eating - sodium and sugar content may still lose the pounds, but not lose the inches as quickly. Healthier foods will probably reduce fat quicker than…
  • Welcome! I love it here! There is so much encouragement, and using the food and exercise diaries make losing so much easier! I can totally relate to the meds and the difficulty with your injury. I am 55 and was permanently injured 8/08 so my walking ability consists of a walker or 2 canes. My meds contributed to my weight…
  • At 14, I started as my parent's receptionist at their real estate company. At 16, started waitressing at a JCP Cafe.
  • This morning...hubby isn't feeling well so he's taking it out on me... When was the last time you got a massage?
  • Wonderful transformation! Great that you are realizing this at a young age. Your life will last a lot longer with your new lifestyle. You look terrific!
  • Very inspiring! What a transformation you have made...makes me excited to see the new me in the future!
  • Good information! Thank you! btw...Congratulations! Incredible weight loss!!!
  • I remember hearing a report on the radio about Jack in the Box's bacon milkshake (sounds gross to me). They mentioned it was 1000 calories and there was no bacon in it! It was a sudden wake up call. I knew eating out was really bad for you, and I had learned to put 1/2 my meal in a to go box before I started eating, but…
  • I don't think throwing it out is a good solution. If you both discussed your desire to lose weight and eat healthy and he didn't say "I need my junk food", maybe you just need to let him know you need to talk to him about supporting your choice. If he is being passive aggresive because he is insecure or scared, discuss…
  • Your typical FB bathroom shot may give some people the wrong idea. While most young people do that pose, it is not a typical camera pose. I switched my photo after you posted this, because I realized the picture that inspired me to lose the weight in the first place (this one) would probably be more motivational than my…
  • I am 5' 7 1/2" and started at 220 lbs...215 on MFP. Without seeing your diary it's hard to guess. I know a couple of mistakes I keep seeing with people is not eating breakfast, not having enough vegetables (I'm guilty), low fiber. Losing weight slowly is actually the best way. Try not to be discouraged with 9 lbs. That's a…
  • Losing hair on your scalp is a side effect of your PCOS. Lots of good ideas here for additional protein. CONGRATULATIONS on your incredible weight loss! You are a terrific inspiration!
  • Great story! Thanks for sharing! Every woman deserves to fit in Victoria's Secret undies at least once!
  • I like this, also, and you can get it in capsules if you prefer.
  • Worries me some with all the medical advise here...you need to be sure there are no health problems. ie: too much magnesium can stop your heart, too much water can make your bladder not function properly...I love those singly wrapped prunes. They taste like candy. But, read the label to be sure there's nothing in it you…
  • I have to agree with tailoring your clothes...it's all in the fit! Also, these days, with all the undergarments they've come out with, there is really no reason to ever have a bulge or a line (unless it's a baby bulge). Keep losing weight, exercising, and in the meantime, make what you have look it's best. :)
  • Very inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
  • Great job! Thank you for the inspiration! :flowerforyou:
  • Unlike the majority here, I don't have a problem with Jennifer Hudson...I also have a lot of sympathy for all she went through losing her mother and brother so tragically; however, I do NOT understand the song. How am I her and how is she me?? As far as I can tell, the only things we have in common are that we are both…
  • I'm so sorry for the bad news from the doctor! I'm sure you are very frustrated after all of your hard work. I hope you will heal quickly so you can return to the exercise you enjoy so much! Maybe you can do something with less impact, if your doctor approves, until you are able to return to doing what you prefer. Again,…
  • Joined MFP yesterday and I'm 55. Still trying to figure out what I'm doing. I'm really excited about being able to keep track of my food so easily. I don't know how to add friends yet. Definitely need some...losing weight is always easier with company!
  • My husband talked me into getting them 16 years ago...I have regretted it every day since. I went to one of the top Drs. in Tampa, FL. They did not come out like I expected, but more importantly, they have been painful ever since. My biggest recommendation is if you go through with it, don't get too large. I went for a D…
