You just have to adopt the mindset that ANYTHING you do is better than NOTHING. Fire up a video & do as much as you can. Then, the next day, fire up the same video & try to go 1 minute longer. After awhile you'll surprise yourself! I always said I'd NEVER be a runner. Then I hurt my shoulder, so the treadmill was my only…

My wife kept her last name too. Makes sense, that's who I fell in love with!

Brings to mind this scene from Office Space: On what he'd do if he had a million dollars: Peter: "I would relax...I would sit on my @ss all day...I would do nothing." Lawrence: "Well, you don't need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Take a look at my cousin: he's broke, don't do *kitten*!"

THIS. Sober 3.5 years...and I'm SO P*SSED that I didn't do it 10 years ago!!

Agreed. Welcome aboard.

I'm still WAYYYY behind...but we have a client that operates cranes named "Gibbons Erection" ... ...and every time they pop up on my caller ID I picture a horny monkey abusing himself on the other end of the line.

I'm in a 3 day seminar, just logged on to check the thread. 603 new posts. In one day. I'll do my best to catch up!

I like doing our laundry & I'm not afraid to admit it! It's pretty much my Sunday chore & I like the sense of accomplishment when it's all done. (I even iron my own work clothes.) Probably grew out of the fact that she has an entire department store wardrobe & the closet is 80% hers, and I have this little tiny slice on…

His *kitten* should be quivering in fear.

I confess I scored some serious Husband Points today - last week I ordered flowers for my wife to be delivered to her office today, and made the card out from the cats. Just talked to her, she's giddy! (Fist pump)

Legit tour: http://www.fnm.com/tour-dates.shtml My wife & I were going to take a trip to see them in Dallas or Raleigh, but we held off...thank god. The last show was Sept 8 in Seattle, until they just announced the Red Rocks show & the Chicago festival. They've been adding dates here & there for the last month!

I confess that I about died Monday when I saw that Faith No More had just booked a show at Red Rocks in September...Got my tickets on Wednesday - 25th row! (sold out this morning.) My favorite band in the entire universe. THE. ENTIRE. UNIVERSE. I was so sad when they called it quits in '98 & thought they'd always just be…

Let e start by saying everyone is different - this is just my 2 cents: When I was 35, I knew I drank too much & told myself "I'll quit at 40." It took me until 6 months after my 42nd birthday to quit for good (3.5 years ago on 6/1.) Hardest thing I ever did. It took me about a year to truly not want it anymore. Now I can…

Probably some idiot who lives on the "Would you date the person above? TRUTH" threads

Way back in 07 I ordered Nutrisystem. You eat their meals & add in your own fresh foods & snacks. It's great for learning portion control & spacing out your meals. After 2 weeks, I cancelled my auto-order and built my own menu using frozen foods, soups & MFP to build a menu that matched their entrees' nutrition labels to…

Years ago I had a buddy that said he'd hold it until he got to work, so he could "Crap on the clock, get paid to poo" Cracked me up back then & still does to this day.

Forgot to add that the workouts are quick - 3 are 20 minutes, and the other 4 are 28-33 minutes. Great for just cranking one out when you get from work & getting it done! We have an old TV & a dirt cheap DVD player in the workout room, just for this purpose. A laptop would work just as well though...

I know it's hard, but you are doing the right thing. He will thank you when you see him down the road.

I highly recommend the Spartacus DVDs offered through Men's Health & Women's health. They are fast-paced circuit training, each move has 4 variants from easy to hard. My wife & I do the workouts together, and they are great - fast moving (40 sec on, 20 sec off, sometimes 30 on, 30 off) so you get your sweat on, yet you use…

I confess that ins spite of being an aging metalhead, I have DeeLite's "Groove is in the Heart" in my workout playlist. And I sometimes hit repeat.

Sorry to hear that you;re going through this. It is tough when you don't know what to do. For what it's worth, (and this is hard for me to put out there), our cat Sonja had a good 17 year life, she was like a child to my wife. She had all kinds of problems towards the end (CKD, diabetes) and we were pokng her to check her…

Arg. I confess that I've been fighting getting readers for a few months now. About a year ago it was like a switch got flipped in my head. I suddenly couldn't read magazines, ingredients on packaging, and audits at work were giving me headaches. Soooo I finally went and bought some $20 Foster Grant readers at the…

Hang in there. It is tough! After attempting to quit quite a few times, I finally did quit 3 1/2 years ago, and it was the best thing I ever did. BEST. THING. EVER. (Lots of people can drink without issues. It was becoming a problem for me.) My wife quit as well, mainly to support me, and went almost 2 years. She started…

Yea, yea, yeah. I know. Just let me have this small victory, d*mmit!

Good grief, check in on Sunday and there's 247 new posts! And I did read them all. Confession: After my midweek rant/meltdown, I cut out all sweets, complex carbs after 2pm, and ate nothing after 7:30 pm. Weighed in this morning down 4 lbs (173.) (inb4 "Guys lose weigh WAY easier than women!" - sorry ladies, hate the game,…

Prepare for ignition

Try Bob Harper's trick - keep your cals the same, but 1. Don't eat complex carbs after lunch 2. Don't eat anything for 3 hours before bedtime

I've committed to [</= 1,300 net daily] for the next month. I was at [</= 1,500 net daily], but I was eating too much & trying to offset it with more exercise...but my metabolism is on to that & wasn't cooperating! My diary gets pissy when I eat under 1,200, but for the next month, I can live with the red scolding.

AWESOME.
