^REAL BOOK! Always and forever choose a real book to physically hold, to turn the pages. It's part of the experience in delving into a good novel! You get the very essence of the book then...even the scent it has. :') >Something about myself? Um, I'm an art student that likes to question things in life a lot. Aw man, I…

Well, I decided to start losing weight when I reached my heaviest of 189lbs (13 stone 7lbs) last year in March. SO, uh wow, that was basically only one year ago.. And although I've stumbled so, so, SO many times, I've just learned to pick myself up over and over again. I'm quite happy with my body now. I simply wish to…

I know exactly how you feel! I used to do it all the time! But to really savour food, and take your time eating really helps you to gauge when you're actually full as it takes 20minutes for your mind to process that you're eating/full. I have recently started to take my time eating, and it really helps! HERE are some handy…

Actually, perhaps I mis-read your comment, if so, I apologise.

Well, doesn't it depend on the type of carbs you have? Sure, I'll agree with you there...if the carbs you consume are refined and more processed, like white pasta, or white bread for example. It's surely a matter of choosing one carb that's of a lower GI level that leaves you feeling fuller for longer, with slower…

No way. I have carbs when I feel like my body needs carbs for the extra bulk and energy, like before a workout to keep me from passing out...(I workout in the evenings usually). BUT, I do tend to stay away from them later in the evenings before bed so that I don't feel too full before I catch some shut-eye. Just do what…

I've actually posted a topic similar to this one on my intake of natural sugars. I struggle a lot with them too, I'm always over my recommended allowance on mfp, and by quite a far margin too. My natural sugars come from fruit mainly, and I LOVE fruit. People have told me that the best way to go about it is to have 2 fruit…

Goldn326 -- 7 ...I just can't see your face! haha

You have such clear skin, and lovely rosy cheeks! :)

This has definitely put the most perspective on the topic so far, I think. (Not to say that the other comments aren't helpful or anything..) I always feel in danger of falling in to that healthy vs. thin trap. Of course health is my priority. Thank you! :)

Hey! I'm on 1,200kcals as suggested by mfp too! Would love to gain more friends, so would be great to be your friend on here! :)

How about dark chocolate? A couple of large squares. Perhaps the bitterness may curb the sweet cravings?
-
Thank you everyone! All this advice is great, it's proving really useful and interesting to gain insight to the different perspectives to it all. :)
-
Thank you! This is actually really helpful for me, and I really appreciate it. :) I sort of thought about it all along the same lines. I'll try to limit the amount of fruit that I have daily to the two...instead of the 5 or more (eeek! ha) Thanks! :)

Yeah, I know, it's hard to believe at first, huh? And not at all a problem. I just hope some more people share their opinion on it. :)

I'm from Wales in the UK, if that counts? :)

I used to walk home from school every day, and that's about 3 miles.. I go to the gym now though 'cause I'm up in university, but I'd love to get back in to walking again. :)

I've actually given them up entirely. There's so much junk in them and stuff, plus, now that I'm not drinking diet coke or pop in general, I feel so much more better. :) So long as you cut down as much as you feel comfortable with, then that's great! :) You'll feel a difference.

Cereals: *Bran Flakes (the shop's brand), Granola (again, the shop's brand), oats (Just buy a big value bag, it'll last you much longer), and muesli. Buckwheat= it's kind of like oats, and they fill you up so much! I just add some honey and greek yoghurt with fruit to sweeten it up a bit. Spreads: Organic crunchy Peanut…

Um, I think there was the mention of a fast day there? If there is, then I'm honestly not sure if I can participate. :/ I've had a very bad past with fasting, and my past eating disorder..I'm afraid that it could trigger me..?
-
So...am I right in believing that I can't have oats? ^^; Like, granola counts as something with gluten in, right?
-
Wowza! Sounds like a tricky one this! :S

Peanut putter may sound unhealthy, but it's packed with protein. :) (organic is the best!) Just have a 20g serving with a banana. It's really yummy, is rather healthy, and is rather filling. -20g serving of p.b = 118 calories -Medium banana= 100 calories. :) It's great as a post-workout snack too! :)

I think it's more to do with how you view yourself in relation to other people. If you are in fact a very slender person that doubts they are slim, then, you're likely to sort of feel more comfortable, maybe even more attracted to bigger people that you see yourself to be. It also works the other way around. So, if for…
