Thanks!

I appreciate the reply. If I do lift now, can I still eat at TDEE - 20% without eating exercise calories (since they are part of TDEE)? I guess that's what I'm most confused about.

OK, since all eyes are on this thread (you all look fantastic and WOW, so inspirational), I guess it's the best place to voice my concerns. I really want to start lifting heavy. I've started some basic, light-weight exercises that I do at home to help get myself used to form and start workin my muscles, since I've never…

I think you're doing great. After some time, you may want to start incorporating healthier alternatives, but you've taken a big, greatstep! Slow aand steady wins the race, after all.

No. After 10 days at that deficit, you are not building muscle. Your problem is that you have too much big off a deficit. You need to be eating more than 1200 if you are working out that much and not eating back to exercise calories.

You look amazing! Thank you for the inspiration.

You are not eating nearly enough. You are not going to lose weight at that amount. If anything, you're going to wreck your body and metabolism. 1200 is probably too low, too, which is why you didn't see much loss at that amount. You need to eat more. WAY more. Also, weight loss is a progression. It will come off slowly,…

According to my TDEE - 20% calculations, 1900 a day (a bit lower than the 1997 calculation TDEE gave me, actually). I'm 5'2 and weigh 227.

I'm new to the Road Map and started a few days ago. I need to get a tape measure so I can get some more accurate numbers, but I used the calculators and found that I was eating too few calories. I know that taking this route is going to help lead me to success. Thanks Dan and all who have offered advice! I've been reading…

I'm definitely learning to eat, and it can be tough when you see people with similar stats eating far less than you. I just keep reminding myself that I'm going about this the right way, losing slowly and learning how different foods affect me. I just discovered TDEE and am eating TDEE-20%, and I'm enjoying it! I do not…

People who say it's "not a big deal" to eat whatever I want, or that I should give myself a cheat day every week. Um, no. Granted, I didn't get here by eating badly once a week, but I know myself, and I know that it will lead me on a spiral into not counting accurately, trying to fudge numbers, or taking a second day…

OK, this made me laugh. :D
