  • THAT IS AWESOME.
  • That's brilliant, thank you!
  • It's harder when they are smaller, definitely. At that age I would put my son in the stroller and go for a run, or do some body-weight exercises and let him 'participate'. My husband also worked late during that period so I can definitely relate. I just squeezed more 'serious' workouts in whenever I could on his nights…
  • Treat yourself to a nice bath with epsom salts. Take a little walk to get blood flowing & gently stretch out your sore muscles. Then get back at 'er. You can totally do that 1/2 marathon!
  • I will look that up, thanks!

  • Good question...I don't, necessarily. I would have to learn more about it - this thread is the first I've read and I tend to read a lot about nutrition so I was surprised there was something "out there" that I hadn't at least heard of. But at first blush it seems like something that would line up with my current approach…

  • Ok, I'm finding this whole thread fascinating. I have a few questions about keto, who wants to answer them?! - I play roller derby, which is a pretty good workout & high-endurance (500 cal/hr according to my BodyMedia thingie). Would I have to wait for the off-season to start keto? - This is less of a question...but...I…

  • I wouldn't say so. We do tons of different lunges and squats at derby practice and all of them work different parts of the muscle (so I'm told and it sure feels that way). So...do both, you'll be ultra-sculpted :)
  • That sounds super frustrating :( Definitely push your doctors on the thyroid issue. I had symptoms of hypothyroidism for years before my levels were "officially" low enough for them to medicate me. Now my meds have me at a level that is technically borderline HYPERthyroid, but only now do I feel 'normal' and I am able to…
  • In that case, look at it this way: you're 5lbs ahead!
  • Raisins. 120cal for 1/4 cup :(
  • Untrue. I've run it on both platforms. There are some UI changes on the Android app, just because of the way Android works, but it's a great app. I have had a few issues with the GPS, but that is my phone, not the app - I have issues with other GPS-related apps too.
  • You have his phone numbers, I would give those to the police. Mobile phones can be traced. I hope you get some answers.
  • City of Heroes...at least until they shut it down at the end of November
  • Yes, this. Eating gluten-free is overkill if your sensitivity is only to wheat (and read Wheat Belly to find out why you might be sensitive to wheat). I don't eat wheat and I don't buy any of the prepared gf foods (except pancake mix occasionally because I'm lazy). There are tons of other grains that are perfectly…
  • I'd also get them to test your thyroid antibodies. I had symptoms of hypothyroidism for almost 2 years before somebody did that test and realized I had Hashimoto's. Hashimoto's eventually degrades your thyroid to the point where it shows up in the standard thyroid panel, but in my experience the symptoms showed up way…
  • Yes, I have them. What helps me: - Massage them *before* whatever workout aggravates them (in my case this is both running and skating) - Changing my stride (running) - Stretching them out after running/skating, and massaging some "Icy Hot" or A535 into them (if you can handle smelling like toothpaste, haha) - To relieve…
  • Honestly, it sounds like he's questioning his own methods a bit, by being curious about yours. He may have gone about it in a challenging way, but I wouldn't let it cast any doubt on what you're doing, since (as everybody has already pointed out), you're doing the proper things to achieve what you want. Just take it as an…
