Sarah: 2 The Binge: 1 Days Binge-Free: 1 Okay, so got myself back into a good mindset yesterday after I felt so awful the day before, and hoping to continue that today! I want that Days Binge Free number to really rack up the points!!!

Sarah: 1 The Binge: 1 Grr, just started, and that is so frustrating, especially when I know not to do it!

Be strong! Don't give permission to The Binge! You can do it! :)

Sarah: 1 The Binge: 0 First day on this challenge a success! I feel like posting on here is a real help, just having a little mini goal to post positively here certainly helps!

Hey guys! I've been in this group for a while, but haven't really spoken up much. I wanted February to be the Binge-Free month, but I've already slipped up several times, not insanely severe binges (because I've managed to remove most trigger foods from the house), but not under control either. I seem to be struggling…

My NSV last week was at the doctor's actually! The nurse was taking my resting pulse and without any prompt, said "you must do cardio." And I asked how she knew and she told me that my resting pulse was 60. Not much, but it made me feel awesome that she knew that, and that my cardio is doing something good for my health…

I know how you feel, and the desire to binge can be overwhelming! I know because I have a problem with binge-eating as well. But, you are not alone! At least check out this MFP group, they tend to be very helpful and motivational: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/726-binge-eating-support-group My personal advice is…

Me: 5 Binge: 1 (And it is my goal that that 1 point to the Binge is the ONLY point let it have!)

You are not alone in this, in fact there is a whole group of people who struggle with binge eating. It's called the Binge-Eating Support Group http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/726-binge-eating-support-group A lot of people are struggling with the exact same problems as you, and you can find people there to support…

Also, no shame! You are here doing the right thing, and you've made progress! Way to go! :D

I don't know about MapMyRun and I don't use ellipticals so I can't weigh in on those parts of your question... However, I also have a Polar H7 HRM, and I use the app Digifit. I think it costs around $4 to allow the HRM to sync with the app, but so far I really like this app, and it logs directly into MFP. I don't know if…

April 2014 Me: 2 Binge: 0! April's off to a good start, taking it one day at a time!

From the interweb: Although it may sound contradictory, if your body is suffering from dehydration it retains water as a survival mechanism. Drinking plenty of water, fruit juices, herbal teas and other non-caffeinated beverages allows your body to flush and cleanse fluids regularly.

Okay, I have never done one of these before, so I am in for April! As it's only April 1: Me: 0 Binge: 0

I'm gonna add you guys too. I had a major binge last week, after having done so well for awhile! :( Gotta start fresh!

I have a problem with this too. My problem is that sometimes the binge comes knocking when it's really late, and so not necessarily a good time to go walk. I've been having some moderate success with these strategies: - painting my fingernails or toenails, so that I'm incapacitated - sitting on the floor and stretching for…

I am always looking for good podcasts too! I listen to Jillian Michaels' podcast, which is good. You can also try Fat 2 Fit radio. They've stopped uploading new episodes, but listening to the archives is well worth it.

Sometimes when I'm studying or working hardcore on a paper/project, I have to snack as well. It's just somewhat soothing to be chomping on something while stressed. And plus, if I'm consciously NOT snacking when I have the urge to while studying, my brain starts to fixate on eating rather than studying! So I've learned to…

Hey! That's a great goal! I did the same thing, it was my goal to go into grad school having lost weight and gained confidence. It's a good confidence booster that can affect your determination (something that is needed in grad school for sure!).

Woo! This group is awesome! Glad to see so many sci-peeps out there on MFP! :D I'm a paleontology PhD student, studying evolutionary relationships late Triassic-age fishes. I teach freshman college organismal biology discussion groups, and loooove myself some cool organisms, geology, and science. I let my weight get out of…

Not to beat a dead horse here, but eggs are WONDERFUL! The old adage about cholesterol is outdated research, and not backed with most recent studies. See another article here, just to reiterate the point haha: http://www.livescience.com/39353-eggs-dont-deserve-bad-reputation.html I eat 2 eggs every morning, have been since…

I listen to Jillian Michaels Podcast, and I used to listen to Fat2Fit Radio, but they have pretty much stopped indefinitely (no new podcast since May 2013! Bummer!) It's worth going back and listening to their archives, they're pretty good. I'm also looking for new podcast ideas, something I can download from iTunes or in…

It is a matter of personal preference from person to person. But I have heavily freckled shoulders, and all of the guys I've dated have said they love my freckles. My boyfriend now says he adores them. ^_^ If you are freckled, don't be self conscious, it is a part of you, so own it!!!!

Wow, I've been doing Zumba the past couple of weeks, and just logging it as "Dancing, General". According to this thread I've been grossly underestimating my calorie burn! My HRM needs a new battery, I should take care of that and track it for real!

I used to use Daily Plate and it got me through my initial weight loss (~40 lbs). But I did switch to MFP because of the iphone/ipad apps and the larger database. I just logged into TDP and put in my stats, and it grossly underestimated what I should be eating, as compared to the same stats in MFP. I would suggest you use…
