In addition to some of the other stuff on here, I used it to cook sweet potatoes for chipotle mashed potatoes.

The exercise thing doesn't sound odd at all. It forces you to stop and think about stuff in the back of your mind you know you should be doing. It's uncomfortable. I have an appointment with my doctor for the first time in a couple years soon as well. Good luck!

I think you know the answer to this already based on your post. If your BMI is healthy and you're happy with how you look, it's a no-brainer.

Upping it AND cheat meals might be too much. Do you still log your cheat meals? If so you should be able to weigh your intake vs your TDEE. The last comments mention of sodium is valid as well - I was eating a really reasonable amount of sodium, and then had a recipe with a ton of buffalo sauce and gained 2lbs right away…

When I scowled at my husband when he suggested getting food at Sonic instead of going along with it because he suggested it. When I sat down with a giant plate of food with the intention of eating it all but stopped when I was full and gave the leftovers to the dog. When I realized I'm now drinking at least 5 24oz bottles…

Do the math. 3500calories = 1lb. If your TDEE truly is 3000 (are you really active? MFP tends to overestimate) then you'd be losing a pound every 3.5 days, or 2lbs every week which is the high end of recommended. Certainly try it and see if you lose, if not, you know your TDEE isn't really that high and you need to lower…

If you're already at a healthy weight, (which is what it sounds like)then eating fewer than 1200 calories could easily mean you're losing weight that you need to keep. I'm not familar with food availabilities in China, but avacados are great for getting calories/fat in easily as are any kind of nut/seed butter (peanut,…

I'd never had frozen bananas until recently and I really like them! I also love spinach, it's my favorite salad green and I love it on sandwiches.

It's all about what works for you. Other times I tried to diet part of my failure was trying to FORCE myself to eat 400 calorie meals. Most of the meals I enjoy are in the 500-700 range. Since I'm eating 1200, I eat one big meal somewhere in the middle of the day, and fill the rest in before/after.

Driving down a main road and having an instant craving for every fast food place I drive by.

If you're looking at recipes or something then yeah. Like everyone else said, a crock pot is a slow cooker, but not all slow cookers are crock pots.

Calling out ignorance in a post isn't a personal attack. You're not necessarily a generally ignorant person because I believe you to be ignorant on a particular subject. However, what you said to me really can't be described in any way but as a personal attack. You're making bold assumptions on my specific case. Removing…

Losing weight does not equal healthy, there's so much more to it. Being buff doesn't mean that conventional/gmo food isn't harming you. Yeah, I'm fat. But personal attacks are way low, and I think you're definitely angry and not at me. I'm fat because I eat too much and exercise too little. But y'know what? I've had IBS…

I think the troll has had enough to eat for today.

GMO produce has caused tumors in rats. The backbone of conventional agriculture is from the company who invented Agent Orange. And even if you don't buy into any of that, conventional produce literally has less nutrients than organic/heirloom. The new hybrid Salmon thats about to get released? Totally pales in comparison…

Can't we all just get along? :) Frozen veggies aren't processed in the sense that there's not a lot of added crap and that they're nutritionally sound - more so than fresh produce most of the time in fact, because the flash freezing preserves a lot of nutrients "fresh" veggies lose in transport/sitting at the store. If…

I've had an Intak by Thermos (think the specific model is Nissan) for 5 years and I'm my second. They're durable, but the plastic lid cracked on mine after it got stepped on in my backpack, and then I lost it anyway. I've seen them at most grocery stores/walmart/etc. I've seen them as cheap as $4 and as high as $15. It's…

I know it won't work for everyone and is probably frowned upon, but what worked best for me and was an easy routine was as follows: 5pm wake up 6-8pm (kinda varied) eat 600calorie meal 10pm start work 12a snack, banana or apple 2-3am lunch, 600calorie meal 7am off work 9am bed Now if you're eating more than 1200/day or are…

I feel ya on the not being motivated to do anything before work. I've worked all 3 shifts recently, and the worst part about 2nd is oversleeping/not doing a darned thing before work. My advice would be to pledge to yourself to be in bed by X hour and wake up after X hours of sleep to where you have a reasonable amount of…

Oh man. So many factors this time. a) I moved across the country away from my family and all their delicious, awful food. b) I recently got married, and though I'm not interested now, the thought struck me that if I were to get pregnant I'd be an extremely high-risk pregnancy. Awful thought. c) As part of moving, I no…

I know this is pretty old, but eggs and avocado make me sick. I love them both but I feel super nauseated and sick to my stomach. I think my body rejects protein in that way or something. Those and the "enriched whole wheat" type pasta.
