I struggle to get started with a 30ds workout but find I am much more motivated if I warm up with something else like a 10 min run. I can deal with jillina if my endorphins have already kicked in. I actually love mixing it up and have been dong this type of theing 10-15 min stairmaster - take a drink and a breather 10-15…

I have been reading about the connection between calcium intake and weight loss. Make sure that you are getting lots of dietary calcium. If you aren't your body will store fat. Also make sure your water intake is high enough. Both can jumpstart a stalled weight loss effort.

This is what I am trying (one week in) since it involves no investment in equipment or a gym membership. I am doing pushups and those squats where you use your arms to lower yourself in front of a chair. I don't have anywhere to do chin ups. Oh, yes, side planks ... what else can I do?

Whole foods in general are better. Each part of the whole is always made to complement or balance the rest. Take something away and you are missing out. Studies are now showing that natural fats from eggs and cheeses, etc. are not the bad guys when it comes to heart disease it is the chemical filled processed meats and…

Mine is set at 1200 and I usually burn 400-600 in exercise. I was eating all my exercise calories back but doing that I was gaining weight so I have started not eating them all back and I am losing. I probably net about 1000 now. Please ... those of you who believe in eating more to lose ... don't flame me. I tried it and…

This is an old thread but I will revivie it and see what happens .... I, too, am eating high fibre for medical reasons. I am gluten intolerant as well so I look for non-wheat fibre sources and I believe in getting my fibre from whole foods not Benefibre. Here is what I typically do .... First, my main "bread" is made from…

I try to eat lots of fibre, too I am gluten intolerant so that rules out a number of fibre sources but being prone to polyps, I don't want to skim on fibre I eat this bread made from flax seed http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/breads/r/flaxbasicfoc.htm I cut it into nine pieces which means each slice has 8g fibre and 250…

I can't sleep if I am hingery so I ususally have a small snack at bedtime but controlled. Snacking at night can easily go out of control. Also, I find if I eat much sugar or refined carbs at bedtime I wake up feeling groggy. If I stick to high fibre, high protein foods al day I wake up feeling energetic. :)

sugar makes me tired ... and it makes me crave more sugar ... which makes me more tired .... and on and on it goes :-P

very interseting ... thank you. I check out marksdailyapple.com There are some great recipes there that fit right into the way I eat. You know, I have always struggled to keep my weight down right from puberty but by watching what I ate and exercising and I've succeeded. I have never been skinny but I have always been relatively trim and fit. In highschool I kept my 5'3" frame between 120 and 130 and today at 42 and after two kids, I am 130 at the end of…

More and more people are gluten intolerant, myself included. I can't eat wheat. If I do, I am in pain with gas, cramps and bloating. there are numerous other side effects I won't go into here. I do believe that genetic engineering is at the root of the huge increase in those who cannot tolerate wheat but if you are not one…
