If you commit to MFP and are honest and faithful with your entries and take the opportunity to learn to change your behavior as it relates to food and exercise you will make it. The MFP community for the most part is both knowledgeable and helpful and if you ask for help you will get it. Do not jump into this and just…

I'm doing it now, in week 2 of the program. I have, prior to this, done other routines full of isolation exercises. I am doing the older version of it though with dips, pushups, and barbell rows as well pullups and chinups. I like the program so far but as I am not a true beginner I decided to add more training volume to…

One of the advantages of the Jefit app is that one can select from the routines in the database. To the OP, what are your goals, is it just weight loss(cutting), bulking, general fitness?

Well, first it is possible that the recent removal of the birth control could be messing with you on that. It is also possible that despite your low caloric intake you could be either: underestimating the calories in your food over estimating your daily activity level and therefore your caloric need or You could be eating…

I have two points: 1. The kids care at my gym is only open from 0800 to 1230 on the weekdays and I work afternoons so that's the time I can do it. 2. If you absolutely can't get going in the morning consider trying a pre-workout. Some of them are really strong and might scare you off but not all of them are. Some days they…

Obviously you already know it's a lot easier to suck at eating than it is to do just about anything else, especially diners with the crew I assume. I like to take those boxed sirloins and bagged chicken breasts and broil off half a dozen or so of them and use that for quick access lean meals. I also bought two big boxes of…

You can for sure do it. I started in a very similar situation in February. I found MFP, got it together and started on a serious training bender and not only did I qualify for SWAT but I blew it out of the water. Stick with it, after a couple of months the workouts are actually fun again and you'll feel amazing. PS. Thanks…

I don't really think there's an answer to that question. If your goal is so high that you will consistently not meet it then I would say it is too high. Otherwise, as long as you're eating enough and that exercise isn't putting you into too deep of a deficit then you should be fine. Put the work in and do it right. I set…

I have two boxes of the supreme protein carb conscious bars. They are whey protein so the OP is out on these ones but they are great! They are a great big 30g of protein and 390 or 400 calories so they work for me as a 2nd lunch or 2nd dinner when I'm working and don't have the time to eat real food.

Assuming we're not talking about creatine added or anything like that, extra protein added to a growing body like an early teen or a preteen is not going to hurt anything. They already have ridiculous metabolism and will burn it off/absorb it just fine. Especially since we're talking about like a scoop of protein powder…

Hang in there hose dragger. Obviously it helps if you use the mobile app as well as the website, makes it easier. It has become automatic for me for the most part but sometimes I just have to go back a few hours and enter everything later. When people pass me parked somewhere in my squad they assume that I'm sending a text…

One of the things I have liked about MFP is that it has taught me the consequences attached to certain kinds of foods. Having learned that I now look at the menu and order based on what items I know are going to be trouble, for example that big plate of pasta vs a grilled steak. Another way to handle it would be to create…

So, how was dinner? I would consider breaking it into two meals. I'm eating five a day now and have been for a couple of weeks. My metabolism has definitely changed as I am STARVING every three hours now and I have more energy in the mean time.
-
Braised short ribs in a red wine sauce and risotto of some kind.

Can you ride a bike? If you can handle that and have a bike already you can either ride around your area or get a set of rollers from a bike shop and ride inside your house. Otherwise, do a google search for low impact cardio, there has to be something.

I don't have any piercings but I have been maced several times and tasered six times. I have found that when the pain is expected it is entirely manageable. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and sort of center yourself just before it starts. Keep yourself focused and calm and it will be over before you even realize it…

I recently started Stronglifts 5x5 for strength training. After my lifting workout I usually hit a treadmill and alternate between slow and easy distance jogs and fast paced runs. I use the Jefit pro app on my phone, really helps stay on track. I also had good results with a more traditional 5 day per week routine. Today I…

Regardless of your supplementation you have to remember that the people on the workout DVD's are experienced athletes and were picked to be on there for a reason. I like supplemental protein and amino acids for muscle recovery but don't think that it will make you stronger or bigger, it's not steroids. Keep at it and use…

Step back and really evaluate yourself too. I was in the exact same position in the last few weeks. I have been running and lifting 5 days a week for several months and eating a severe deficit but the weight was not coming off anymore. I thought I had stalled out completely despite my wife telling me I was looking better…

I couldn't resist, just open the link and listen to the jokes. I thought about this one as soon as I read the topic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBBCcZwwkzA

Had a big day today, was leg day in the gym and I totally killed it. Rode a stationary bike at a good pace for 45 minutes AFTER my workout. I'm off work all week so hopefully I can knock out 4,000. Weekly Goal: 4000 Mon: calories 547 (treadmill, weight training) Tues: calories burned 800 (strength training, stationary…

I listen to all kinds of hard rock. Hate Breed, slipknot, Fear Factory, etc etc. Anything with a high energy angry sound.

I found that my water intake increased significantly when I started first using Mio, which upsets my stomach, then using a product called Blox. The Blox especially probably tripled my water intake. Basically if you can find something with flavor but without sugar etc to put in your water it should help.
-
I weigh it after cooking then search the database using the cooking method (i.e. grilled chicken breast, sauteed vegetables etc)
-
Assuming you are mixing them with water I would say thy sure do. I have been using a product called BLOX from BPI, it's an amino acid powder which does the same thing as those powders but has the added benefit of being an amino acid supplement. Th added flavor really helps me care enough to drink a lot of water.

I could use a kickstart to keep myself entertained and motivated. I've been stuck in the 211-215 neighborhood for a couple of weeks now and need something like this to kick me off the ledge. I'm off work all week so hopefully I can knock out 4,000. Weekly Goal: 4000 Mon: calories 547 (treadmill, weight training) Tues:…

I'm not an expert by any means but what I have seen in the last 8 months of using MFP is that in the beginning I was seeing more success just watching the calories and did great. Now that I am down to the last few pounds of fat I am trying to kill off I am really trying to be careful about the macros and staying within my…
