I only live one block from work, so I just usually walk. Biking is around town, to the library, etc. ( Small town)

My weight can go up and down by 3 or so pounds in one day! Depends on the day and such.

A certified personal trainer told me that if you add a packet to it or make it into tea or coffee, its not the same. He suggests one drink 8 8 ounce glasses of ICE water each day. If you drink something else, drink an equal amount of water to make up for it. I am working my way up to 8, it is challenging for me.

When my youngest daughter was about 4 or 5 years old, we went to Chicago for a family reunion. We are from a small midwestern town so this was really BIG for our kids. We arrived at our hotel. A man and woman in front of us had ridden their motorcycles to the hotel. They checked in, decked out in black leather. We ended up…

94 pounds! Awesome job! Very encouraging, too.

I am thinking of trying to make homemade creamsicles with it and some fruit that I will put in the blender.

It is a great substitute for sour cream when making enchiladas or on top of tacos, etc. I don't care for it without something in it or under it. The brand definitely makes a difference. I prefer Dannon. Unlike another post, I HATE the clementine one. To each his own. Yes, your taste buds also change. As does your digestive…

I am assuming you have been married for 15 years, but how old are both of you? Are you Christians? If you are, then you should both be looking at each other with Christ's love, and he should not be comparing you to another woman. The physical form we have is not what we should love, rather the "I do"s are about committing…

I am not a 'runner' but I have had the pain come and go for the last year or so. I thought maybe it was from bad shoes or when I mow the very uneven yard, but I think I have ruled both of those out. Don't know why.

if you truly record what you are eating and use this site to the best of your ability, it will definitely help. You realize how much a serving is, how many calories are in what you are eating, and it motivates you at the end of the day with how much you might weigh in 5 weeks. If this were not a free site, my friends might…

HI. This is a wonderful site. It will really open your eyes to what you are eating, the size of a serving, and how many calories are in various foods we eat. It has been an answer to my prayer for help from God. I love it! Welcome and be sure to take full advantage of this site.

Yes, I love this site too! I joined in August, but really started using it in Oct. My starting weight was 178.4 and I am now down to 145 or so. I did not really exercise until December when my hubby got a treadmill for me. This app is fabulous!!

You might already know this, but replace any fat in a recipe(butter, oil, etc.)with applesauce-equal amounts. I made banana bread with it instead of a stick of butter. I also replaced the 2% milk with Pure Silk almond milk. It cut the calories down by 780!! It was still quite good, too.

low carb whole wheat tortillas, like oranges more than before(didn't like at all before), Italian dressing instead of Ranch. I tried Ranch after using low calorie Italian for quite some time. The Ranch was too thick and rich tasting for me. ( its what I always ate before) Yogurt.

most of us on here probably had /have the same problem-letting food be our god or have too much control over us. Sometimes dieters still let it control their lives, just in a different way. Athletes can also be obsessed, just by exercise. Got to find balance. For me, I have to make sure God is in control, not food, not…
-
I don't want food to control my life. I want to treat my body as God's temple and be a good steward of what He gave me. On a more "down-to-earth' view-my father and his brothers had diabetes. I have arthritis started in my fingers and at least one hip. I don't want to coast down that road of poor health and early aging-not…

When I started in October, I ate 1440 a day according to what MFP says to eat for my weight and exercise amount. I did not lose quickly, but I lost consistently. As my size decreased, so did the suggested calories from MFP. I slowly lost 30 pounds that way. I am now at 1290 a day. Don't undereat. What does this site…

1200 calories if that is what MFP suggests for losing what you want to in a week. I started at 1440 a week and am now at 1290. It will decrease your allowed calories every -10 pounds. ( i think) don't start too low or you may give up quickly.

Welcome! I love this site too! In my opinion, it makes losing weight almost "easy". I still have about 10-15 to go, but I am hoping to get there this summer. ( I teach and so I will have more time to exercise).

My husband and I used to drink diet pop ALL the time-very addictive. It wasn't a weight decision, we just preferred the less sweet pop. During years of doing so, we did not diminish in size, we only got larger. I know it wasn't just pop, but I wonder about its contribution. Then, we heard about the side effects of fake…

As I approach my first goal weight ( just 1-2 pounds away), I find it more and more difficult. Its now MFP, its me. I am sabbotaging myself. Why? Not sure. It might be something to think about.

For me, it is important to not be obsessed with food nor with losing weight. For me, God has to be first, not food. If I am keeping Him first, then I must treat my body as His temple, not be gluttonous. Obsessing over exercise, etc, can be just as bad as food-as far as spiritual matters are concerned. My motive this time…

when you completed the information for My Fitness Pal and it told you the number of calories to eat-that is already an amount which will help you lose weight. Even if you don't exercise. If you exercise, try to eat back some of the calories. You can go 100 or 200 lower than the amount you are to eat in a day, but if you…

My intake is supposed to be 1290. I eat about 150-200 for breafast. (6:30 am) I have a granola bar or something around 10-11, then lunch is about 200 calories or so around 12. Supper is my large calorie amount b/c I know I will be cooking for my family and will eat some of the same foods as them. Oh, I have an orange or…

Super! I have been using it since October and have lost about 26 pounds(MFP says differently). I have been doing it slowly so that my life won't be a shock when I am finished losing weight. Several friends of mine have also joined and they seem to really like it, too. It makes us realize what and how much we are…

I have heard it increases metabolism rate

Salads! Also, light string cheese, fruit, stick pretzels(about 23-33 =100calories), Special K bars, light soups, low cal cheese or crackers, yogurt(-watch the calories though, low-fat does not mean low-calories) My own dressing for salad. Whole wheat pita pockets or tortillas will work to replace bread for a sandwich.

I am taking it slow and steady or I know I will quit. I have lost around 26 pounds(mfp says lower due a different starting date). I have prayed, exercised, and counted calories. My loss really started in October til now. Also, my acid-reflux has either seriously diminished or is gone! I am wearing 3-4 sizes lower than I…

I walk on my treadmill. Someone told me that walking will help me lose, but when I get to running, the belly will go, too.

Love your positive, spiritual post! I agree totally! I also know, from my experience, that I cannot do it on my own. I must rely on God, but do my part, too.
