Pint of Ben and Jerry's.

I ordered some from myprotein.com after looking at labdoor.com to find out which brands had the least amount of fillers and crap in them. It's cheap. https://us.myprotein.com/

I know your question is about your hips, but it seems like the hunger and dizziness is a bigger problem toward reaching any kind of goals. You're not going to be able to eat less if you already feel terrible, and you won't be able to work harder if you feel terrible. I see from your profile that you are vegan- do you make…

I am 5'7". I am trying to cut a bit right now at 1700-1800 cal. From March-October I bike commute 30 min each way on top of my normal lifting etc. and then I eat around 2200-2400 to maintain 140-145 lb.

Try lacing your shoes looser, or wearing different shoes.

No, people just have norms and habits so they always tend to gravitate back towards their comfort zone. Does "dieting" include weighing and measuring your food and accurately tracking everything that goes into your mouth? If not, start there. Also, many people vastly overestimate the amount of calories they use during…

I put on 5 lb overnight right before my period. It’s normal. Keep an eye on your weight trend over time. Putting too much stock in the daily numbers will drive you crazy. I weigh each day but use an app to show the trends.

Your scale number will fluctuate with water weight/inflammation/glycogen stores/salt/bowel movements. I regularly see a 5 lb jump up after a day of heavy lifting and salty food. I suggest getting an app that shows weight trends- I like Happy Scale, Libra, and there are more. You can still weigh in every day but it gives…

YES!!! I remember the first pull-up I did like it was yesterday. I also was never athletic at all, and did my first real pull-up well past age 30. It was absolutely thrilling!

Great dedication and transformation! Impressive work.

By helping create a calorie deficit, cardio can help you get the same shape you have now, only smaller/lighter. And as we get older, likely softer/saggier along with smaller. Lifting can change your shape and make you firmer, along with making your muscles, bones and joints stronger and more resilient. From personal…

I'm a lesbian and I would not be caught dead in basketball shorts. But your wife is correct- basketball shorts are practically a rainbow flag.

Listen to Sardelsa! And I would add that deadlifts and back extensions do wonders for perking up the booty.

Check out Grrrrl clothing and Superfit Hero- they are woman-owned, great companies! Grrrrl is more affordable.

300 pound deadlift Address my shoulder problem and do what I have to do to fix it Do mobility at least 5x week Get proficient at pistols

I actually got food poisoning on Saturday night, so I am a loser.

Thongs for sure. I like to have more than one layer of fabric over my hoo hoo, but don't like butt lines! You have to get soft, cotton, athletic thongs, though, that stay put.

300 lb deadlift 210 back squat on the platform 20 double-unders in a row Get my shoulder looked at by a doctor and stop taking Advil every day Plant an amazing veggie garden Keep my chickens alive and get lots of eggs

The other thing you can do is arrange your schedule so that you are able to sleep about 12 hours each night. That will give you less time to eat, more time for recovery, and will be good for your stress hormones. Less painful that dieting, probably inconvenient if you have friends or family.
-
Look at your morning and evening routines and cut out most of the time you spend on social media or TV. You can do a lot in 3 good sessions per week- use a structured program so you aren't wasting time. Put time in your schedule right before or after class or work, don't waste your time with extra trips back and forth.…

The best part of DXA scan is seeing your skeleton shape and butt fat. It also show if you have one big arm/leg from doing a sport, and how fat your head is. I recommend DXA as a good date activity.

Agreed! Doing bodyfat testing can be fun and interesting, but probably won't tell you anything you're not going to know with tracking, measuring, and pictures. Pictures are key- you may not be able to measure yourself well and you may be like me where your waist stays the exact same size and the rest of your body changes…

Learn good form, whatever activity you do. Get some coaching, whether it's running, lifting, swimming... the cost of a few coaching sessions may prevent a lot higher coast in pain, surgery, rehab, etc. plus you'll enjoy just about anything more if you do it well. Also, sleep is way underrated and so needed!

I like to weigh daily and use a trend app- I use “Happy Scale” and I think Libra is similar? I fluctuate +/- 5 pounds and so weekly would not give me an accurate picture. Daily weighing and seeing how it jumps around makes me less bothered by any number- it’s the trend that I’m watching for.
-
I really appreciate all the feedback and encouragement! The women on this forum have been such an inspiration to me! Looking forward to getting started on a structured program focused on my shoulders, back, butt and arms!

Thank you so much! When it comes down to it, it’s all interesting to me but there is probably no real answer. The whole Bay Area CrossFit community uses the same Hydrostatic guy, so we all have that as the reference point. Maybe I’ll tell CrossFitters I’m 15% and 20% to the rest of the world if anyone cares. :) I think the…

I am doing 5/3/1 using an iphone app called "Wendler Log." It's pretty easy to follow and has graphs that show I am making gains.

Yes, I sometimes bike over to the 24 hour fitness and do some lifting at lunch. I keep it simple, like squats overhead press so I can be back within an hour and not get super red and sweaty. I have to change into workout clothes since I wear a dress at work. :) I either rinse fast or just do some strategic baby wipes,…

"no I'm not interested" doesn't work for you?[/quote] People will avoid coming over if they see the ring in advance, saving me the trouble (in gym situations). I have also been scolded for being "misleading" when I didn't have a ring on. Yes, a tool thing for him to say, but it made me uncomfortable. I'd rather someone…

Wow! Congratulations. I hope you enjoy!
