Oh, and decaf coffee with a splash of skimmed milk and one Sweetex tablet. I drink 4 or so cups a day at home.

I need to avoid caffeine, so that eliminates a lot of choices. I go for Sprite Zero/ diet lemonade. If it's a pub with nothing "diet" except cola I settle for a shot of lime cordial with soda water.

I haven't tried doing the cauliflower substitutions but I often have bolognaise sauce on finely shredded raw cabbage when the family has spaghetti bolognaise. It's not spaghetti but the cabbage and sauce go well together.

Sorry, you're the one who's wrong here. The "Fast" on this diet is eating only 500 calories if you're a woman, 600 calories if you're a man, on 2 separate days in the week. Eat normally on the other days.

I'll take the clean house that's been offered, please. And I also have about 6 trees that need to be chopped down. Not GIANT trees, just 40-50 year old scrub. Can you do that? :-) Pretty please?

Bump!I LOVE soup!! Lentil on its own (well, with onions and bacon) or with whatever veg I have - yummy! :-)

I'd calculate it as half of the time "gardening - planting" and the other half walking - "walking uphill" if it's rough and steep. Eat whatever you like - tuna & mayo sandwiches?

Just me then! Thanks for your replies. I clear all caches & cookies when closing down my computer and could log on normally today when I restarted it. I wonder what happened there?
-
I haven't read the other replies yet, but I take my glasses off, they'd get sweaty drips on the lenses or tend to fall off. My distance vision is good enough to see what an instructor is doing / cross the road safely / not bump into things. I wouldn't be able to read a small display on an exercise machine, but I don't do…

You'll just have to keep active! It's obviously working for you

TDEE = Total Daily Energy Expenditure = The total number of calories you burn in a day from being alive, breathing, walking around, doing your job and any extra exercise you do on top of that.

It's important to eat "normally"on non-fasting days, otherwise you're cutting too many calories. You need to look at your calorie intake over a week, so if MFP suggests you need to eat, say 1400 calories per day to lose 1lb a week that gives you 9800 calories to eat in a week. With the 5:2 diet you will eat 500 calories on…

I don't find I'm totally miserable on fast days, I drink plenty and keep busy! Like I said, people who know nothing about it will come in and say their piece. Go to some of the 5:2 groups for better support and information.

I've been doing the 5:2 or the "Fast Diet" (fast as in fasting, not speedy!) for 18 months or so, on and off. The website is here http://thefastdiet.co.uk/ and there's a book about it (probably available cheaply in big supermarkets). It came from a Horizon programme made for the Beeb by Dr Michael Mosley - google, I'm sure…

Wow, that would be amazing!!

Weighing is very much more accurate than measuring volume.

I've done it. They were pretty tasty, but the caramelised almonds were more popular (but less healthy)

I have the same problem with pasta and rice too. These carbs are all around 100 cals / 100 grams when cooked, and around 250- 300 calories for the same units of uncooked food (assuming you don't add any fats or other "additives"). The dried grain/ grain products absorb water on cooking so 100 grams when uncooked becomes…

I have the same pattern as you, OP. Difficult not to get discouraged, isn't it, when you have to lose the same weight AGAIN!! Keep on keeping on, you're better than you were.......

Poor little mouse also wants nice warm, draught free living space....

I've used "Little Nipper" traps. They come in sets of three and are so cheap you could just bagup throw them away, mouse and all if you need to. I used to live in a very old house that got mice in winter and found a sultana pressed onto the pin to hold the bait worked well. I'm sure that traps are kinder than poison - the…

Your BF sounds like my hubby. He's quite happy with my A/ AA boobs. I often wear B cup bras as getting smaller cups with my huge ribcage is impossible. Don't worry about it - when you do aerobics or start jogging you'll be laughing and MUCH more comfortable than the big gals.

Yep, this ^^ Plus - HOW old did you say you are? 25 is not believable in this context

My Fitbit one gives me 129 calories for my regular walk to the newspaper shop and back. It is about 2.5 miles all told, takes about 50 minutes and involves the equivalent of about 12 flights of stairs in hills. 400+ calories for 3.25 miles seems like a big overestimate to me. PS, ALL of them are wrong, probably!
