From Birmingham, England to Holland, Belgium or Germany. Birmingham is great but England no longer has summers, is full of banal reality television zombies and is suffocating under Austerity measures

Only if I'm away on a short break which isn't very often

I work in a UK NHS hospital & whilst we are encouraged to have the flu jab, we are not forced to and it would be hard for management to implement something like this. I have a couple of colleagues who had the jab last year & had to go home later that day as they felt unwell. This was only a short term thing but now with…

Baltis - They're just to high in calories to eat anymore :(

Vegetarian apart from a year long stint as a vegan - for moral grounds not health reasons (altho it can be a bonus}

Welcome TC!! Oh no! I've opened up the whole cup of worms thing again - can't we have our own unit of measurement - a mug? Not sure how it would work for the brassieres tho!

"#5 - DON'T GIVE UP EVERYTHING - LIVE A LITTLE. I admit, I'm not losing as fast as I could. If I chose to subsist on grilled chicken breasts and dry salad, I could lose a couple more pounds a month. But I don't want to merely subsist. I want to be able to get together with friends once or twice a week over a couple of…

Happy to see that the 'craft beer' revolution is alive & well in North America - I thought this list might be all Buds, Bass & Newcastle Brown but there's a lot of good sounding beers out there
-
Brummie here - you can tell us English/Scots/Welsh/Irish - cos we have no idea what 'cups' are!

Thanks to you I see the problem - I had manually set my calorie goal a while ago to something like 1.4lbs per week loss. MFP has automatically changed that to 1lbs a week when it asked if I wanted it to update my goals. This could be something for people to watch out for.
-
No - it was changed/updated by MFP - will double check tho

Duvel, Holdens, Bathams, Purity, Wye Valley - the list is endless :)
-
Ignore this - whatever works for you at the moment - later on you may want to incorporate exercise or you may not - it's your choice
-
This would be me too i suppose - I'd never see it as 'cheating' as I may spike 1 day a week but will always end up within my weekly calorie goal. It usually involves a bottle of vodka too

Lol - ok Chapatti heated for 30 seconds, spread some Very Light Mayonnaise plus Yeast Extract if you like, then place roll up banana inside & eat ................quick, tasty, filling.
-
I have a banana wrapped in a chapatti that's been heated then lightly coated with very light mayonnaise & sometimes some yeast extract spread. Other days just Bran flakes. Scrambled eggs on light toast is good too.

I find 2-3 strong beers always lead to 6 or 7 more beers

For anyone that needs a good alchohol calorie calculator try this one: http://www.drinkaware.co.uk/tips-and-tools/drink-diary/?gclid=CJDdtrCYprECFbMJtAoddX8eog

Vodka with ice & soda water is low cal for alchohol. My problem is if I get drunk I snack like there's no tomorrow & end up in the red big style, even if I have already prepared some snacks for when that happens I just have more so now cutting back on the booze
-
The problem with those 'low fat', 'lean cuisine' processed foods is that they pack in the salt & often the sugar to make up for the lack of flavour in the product. To reduce your sodium intake you need to reduce your reliance on these types of snacks & meals. Giving up/cutting down on excess salt is like giving up sugar -…

Once a week - the temptation is there to weigh more often but I don't want weight to become an obsession for me

My life! What a transformation! Congratulations on your hard work & total change

I'm working in Kilos but am looking to lose around 25 kg which is more than 50lbs - reaching the end of the 3rd week and everything going well so far but would welcome being added :)
