Are you going to be storing it in the pot? Usually when I have this problem I scoop the whole thing into the container I'll be storing it in (generally plastic, much lighter than a pot!) and weigh it that way (you'll have to know how much the storage container weighs beforehand, of course).

"No, I'm not pregnant. I'm just fat." ^ This is my standard reply, and it usually embarrasses the heck out of people for asking. :D

Flour that hasn't been sifted or mixed in any way (i.e. all settled in the bag) will fit 140g into a cup. Mixed but unsifted flour will fit 128 grams, and sifted flour will be 120 grams. At least according to what I've read. Usually, in baking, I find that the 128 grams works best. :)

Do you think you'd still want to eat it six months from now? Because that's about the dependability of our mail service... :D
-
Right? I'm gonna take it as "WOO! I LOVE FUDGE!" :D

There's nothing wrong with eating at night as long as you remain within your calorie goals. :) Meal timing is all about personal preference; eat at a calorie deficit and you'll lose weight regardless of other factors.

Recently; in fact, I made these just this morning, and just had to show you how great they turned out!

Bumping this thread because we CAN'T let it die. @quiksylver296 I made your fudge recipe! I marbled it by freezing Reese's peanut butter chips and then folding them in really quickly right before putting it in the pan. It's amaaaaazing!

Ha! Nobody can beat a teen when it comes to drama. I've got four classes and I'm enjoying them, mostly... Other than the deadlines. :D

I use this too, and haven't had a hard-to-peel egg even once since I started cooking them this way.

I think the joke is that Python is an actual programming language. (Named after Monty Python, if my textbook can be believed). And yet, even knowing that... It still annoyed me that those are obviously cobras. :D

Ooh, Confessions thread meetup! How exciting!

Roughly 455 calories per bag, which is the serving size (130 kcal) multiplied by 3.5, since it says each bag contains about that many servings. :)

You missed the "lamb mince" ingredient towards the bottom. :)

There are a few items I don't recognize, but the ones I do know look fine (although I could have sworn 1 tbsp of cinnamon was 20 kcal, but that's hardly a major error even if my memory isn't faulty!) Soup can be extremely high in volume while remaining, thankfully, very low in calories. I recently made a tomato soup that I…

I thought Jabba the Hutt was judging everyone for talking about pears instead of cheesecake or something. :D

Ah, oops, that's right! That was a ridiculous mistake. Thanks!

Your deficit is already accounted for by MFP. If you selected a loss of 1 pound per week, for example, MFP automatically calculated your deficit into the number of calories provided by calculating your expected total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) and subtracting 500 calories from it. Eating your exercise calories just…

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine what you're going through right now, but as others have said, I think the way you're feeling makes perfect sense in the situation.

Basically, it's that it's not healthy to net below that number unless you're extremely short and very light. Your body needs a certain amount of nutrients per day, and 1200 calories per day is considered to be the bare minimum amount that you can meet those nutrient needs. But calories are also something that you need--If…

I stopped getting mine completely after about two years, but after 6 months they were extremely light, almost like spotting rather than full on menstruation.
-
So sorry, Mel! That really stinks.

I'm so sorry. I've lost pets, and it's HARD. <3

I think you did awesomely, but I can understand the disappointment. Do you think that getting sick might have affected your lifts? I get horrible fatigue when I have a cold.

For future reference when making pasta, weigh your dry pasta before cooking, then, after cooking, weigh all of the cooked (and drained) pasta, and calculate your portion from there. Say for example: I cook 100g of dry pasta, and then after cooking, I have 250g of cooked pasta (because it has absorbed water). I know that I…

It's a lot more complicated than you're making it, unfortunately. A simplified explanation: Food is made up of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. In the stomach, carbohydrates take 1-4 hours to digest, proteins take roughly 4 hours, and fats can take 8-12 hours, if I recall correctly. However, these macronutrients are…

-raises hand- I definitely can't just do soup on it's own, it doesn't have any staying power for me. Sometimes I think it's partly mental, since I feel the need to chew my food and without the chewing, my mind feels like the meal hasn't concluded! :D

Managers seem to find the employees that are actually willing to work hard and then proceed to suck the life out of them! My husband has had the same issue with having his vacation time refused even as half his department are running off for vacation one by one. :|

I'm so sorry about the loss of your father. <3 I'm glad you came back, even after everything you've been through. That's the important thing, I think, to keep getting back up when you fall and start moving forward again. All the best to you!
