  • I really started to enjoy running as soon as whatever run I was on was finished. Haha! Seriously though, I think the first time I really enjoyed it was when I realized I could run a full mile without stopping. I had been working on my cardio and strength for a long time but never really considered running. Once I realized…
  • Bump... maybe get this seen by a few more people. Welcome to the site matblue!
  • Totally loving my new breakfast sandwich: 6 tbsp egg whites fried up in a small pan, one slice oat nut bread toasted, 2 slices turkey bacon, 2 tomato slices and a couple drops of ketchup for extra flavor. So good for only around 225 calories. Recipe in diary if you are interested :)
  • I also buy the Butterball Turley Bacon. 25 calories per slice and it tastes great on my breakfast sandwiches. I will agree though... definitely chewy not crispy.
  • Just trying to congratulate NatureMade while poking fun at our earlier exchange. Happy you're following along though.
  • So what I really want to know is... how has your wooly mammoth held up against sabre tooth tiger attacks?? Just kidding, NatureMade... I hope this time you can smile at my nonsense. Seriously though, you look great! Keep up your hard work, here's to staying focused :drinker:
  • I used to feel like way a bit myself when I first started out at the gym or walking in a public space. I would worry about what people would think when they saw the fat guy trying to do "skinny person" activities. But I sucked it up and pushed down any fears I had and went one day. Then I went the next day too. Pretty soon…
  • And just to clear up all the "ignorance" I've been spreading in this thread... Owning a wooly mammoth and defending it from saber tooth tiger attacks IS IN NO WAY a required part of the paleo diet! Carry on!
  • Awww c'mon... I'm just joking around  While I will fully accept your "unproductive" critique  , I don't think the "ignorant" fits. Do you really think that I believe owning a wooly mammoth is part of a paleo diet? Would any reasonable person be misinformed because of my post? I don't think there is…
  • I tried eating Paleo but my wooly mammoth got eaten by a saber tooth tiger and now I have nothing to ride on to the grocery store.
  • This is one of the best NSVs I have seen posted here. Congrats! :drinker:
  • What is interesting about this urban dictionary definition is that it uses the word "moron" as a pejorative. Moron was originally a word used to describe someone with mental retardation, thus perfectly illustrating the "euphemism treadmill" described above.
  • Reading this post and thread made me think about how language rolls along through the years and words that were once acceptable become offensive over time. I was thinking that this has to be a natural linguistic phenomenon and then I found this snippet from Wikipedia which seemed to speak directly to that:…
  • In my opinion they are good in a pinch but are way too high in.... yeah, sodium! Is there an echo in here? haha Yes, they are easy to make and it is easy enough to find flavors/recipes that you like. You can certainly lose weight by having frozen meals as part of your plan but there are also healthier, less processed, less…
  • SwannySez 2012!! Haha The duckface is a bane on our civilization. Also needs stopping: the pictures taken in front of the mirror so everyone can see you holding your cellphone. Additional fail points if the flash is partially obscuring your face!
  • While I encourage hard work, the reality is you have no idea whether or not she will need plastic surgery. As others pointed out, her genetics and the amount of weight lost etc will determine how her skin looks. Additionally, it is up to her to decide what she needs/wants. The old "you just have to work hard" is great…
  • Here are a few things that worked for me to combat this particular problem. These have already been mentioned in the thread but I figured I would share anyway: 1. Plan and prep your food for the day beforehand. This takes time and patience but has helped me eliminate fast food from my life completely. 2. If you do find…
  • HW: 510 (yikes!) CW: 370 (woohoo!) GW: 225 (someday!)
  • THIS! I love PB2 Chocolate in my protein shakes! Someone asked where you can buy it, I usually buy directly off the manufacturer's site, but they also have a store locator there too: http://www.bellplantation.com/locator/
  • I also do Les Mills classes, but I don't log my exercise. However, you can put your own exercises into the database yourself. Go to "Exercise" tab, then click "My Exercises" in the sub menu, then click the "Create Exercise" button. On the website, this is the page: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/exercise/new From here you…
  • Happy to see all the support for carbs on here! I eat on average 200 g of carbs a day (50 below what MFP recommends) and I have been losing without any problems.
  • I'm not necessarily scared to lose weight, but am scared of all the saggy skin. I can already see it starting and I am sure I will need some extensive plastic surgery at some point. And the prospect of getting cut up and stitched back together is one I find rather terrifying. Although I never regret my new lifestyle I…
  • Thank you! I've wanted to post the same thread about 10 times but I always end up talking myself out of it.
  • In my experience (which is limited to the data the machines give out) is that I burn almost twice as many calories on the Arc trainer as I do on any of the ellipticals at my gym. That's based purely on the amount of calories the machines say you burn, so keep that in mind. Additionally, I find it much easier to get a…
  • My three tips: 1. Prep your food for the weekend ahead of time if you can. Once I have everything planned out it is much easier to stay on track. 2. Stay busy! A few hours of down time is always nice, but I find that if I have my weekends filled up with activities, errands etc then I have less time to feel "bored" and find…
  • Yeah it sounds like you are in a tough spot. I think we both agree that your partner should be someone who you can share all important aspects of your life with, and that doesn't seem to be the case. Regardless of what you decide, congrats on sticking to your guns and refusing to compromise on your healthy choices.
  • First I would explain to your SO that the choices and routine you have now is here to stay and he either needs to get on board and drop the negativity or STFU and get out! haha Seriously though, it's often the people who care about you most that can sabotage you - whether they realize it or not, they fear the change and…
  • I use PB2 Chocolate and I love it. I put it in my chocolate protein shakes as a low calorie peanut butter kick. I've never actually mixed it up with water but it's great for what I use it for.
  • My secret goal is to fit in a seat at Fenway Park again!
  • I've got 150-ish left to go and I'm pretty active on here these days. Keep up the good work and feel free to add me!
