  • I am right there with you. Started getting serious in December, i'm down 25 pounds and have 25 to go and i do not see any difference in photos! i go over them obsessively. I've been told by others they can tell, but i don't see it. (i did notice though, after Halloween here at the office, that everyone looked bigger in the…
  • i agree, go for it. you can wrap a towel around yourself if you are feeling self conscious as you walk to and from the locker room.
  • wow, it made me so sad to read your post. No one should treat you like that, especially when you are going out of your way to do what they ask. A partner is someone who supports you, is your teammate and your cheerleader. that's what you deserve. don't let him get you down. he may be threatened by your success at changing…
  • you were such a beautiful bride! I love the photo with your arms in the dress. you've come a long way, physically and emotionally; be proud of your accomplishments. Thank you for being such an inspiration here on MFP!
  • sounds good. I've never made it without regular sugar so will give the stevia a try! I like to add lavender.
  • good for you, nice to have your hard work recognized!
  • I'd also change your tracker to show what you've lost, not how far you have to go!! little wins!!
  • I completely understand and when I feel that way I look to my MFP friends that have lost serious weight. one of my friends just hit 100 pounds. I've dieted and lost weight a ton of times and always hit a wall and give up and gain the weight back plus more. This time I've decided I'm not on a diet, I'm trying to figure out…
  • I agree that fresh is key. we eat 2 to 3 servings of fish for dinner a week and I buy direct from a fisherman. I'm lucky to be in California so we have a lot of variety available. I would start with salmon, try to find wild pacific/Alaska, not farmed or from a river. Halibut is a good one, as is mahi mahi or sole, all very…
  • I don't know how old she is but I can say for myself that as I age, it gets harder and harder to keep weight off. I was very thin and could maintain that with just exercise but now no matter how much I work out, I don't lose weight. it's all about what I eat. it's hard and frustrating and I can relate to her being unhappy.…
  • great post, I've had the exact same reaction but then I think, if only I'd started when I only had 10 pounds to lose, I would never have gotten as big as I am. This is a good reminder to respect everyone's journey whether it's a short one or a looong one.
  • my first was in 35:55 my best ever was 28:29. I'm not fast and never will be. I wouldn't worry about it much, there are people at every speed at these events now. I have done a marathon and several half-marathons and I always know that by the time I'm half-way done, someone's already won the race! I did a really hard trail…
  • I go to boot camp three days per week. I love it. I really have to have someone tell me what to do during a workout, otherwise I'm very lazy. I log it as a combination of calisthenics and circuit training in the cardiovascular section depending on how much weight/kettlebell work we do. I haven't found a better way. I've…
  • thank you for posting your photos, they are such an inspiration. Congratulations on your success, you must be proud of all the hard work!! posts like this give me hope that this can be done!!
  • I had a similar experience when I logged back on, I had gained a ton of weight. so frustrating!
  • i am a total food addict and also eat when stressed or bored. i really don't understand the boredom eating, there are so many other things i could be doing.
  • i noticed that when i stopped eating sweets, i stopped craving them. now i can have a few bites of something and it's enough and i can often pass up dessert. i do eat a lot of fruit, so that may be satifying the need. once you get past your 21 days see if you even want them. if the desire is still strong, it would probably…
  • chinese foot massage!
  • I also recommend you go on the message boards and just start sending friend requests. you'll be amazed at who you find out there. I've come to rely on people all over the world to cheer me on and up!
  • six days of tracking is a great accomplishment and you should be proud! I read something once about eating right and feeling deprived, what are you deprived of if you are eating right? feeling bloated, uncomfortable, unhappy? it hit home for me as I get into the mood where I feel deprived too. I realized I could have a…
  • I don't know anyone that's done the 30 day shred but know a few people who've done couch to 5k and liked it. from my experience with boot camp and running you should be able to alternate days, one day the shred workout and the next the running workout. if you do both, let me know how it goes.
  • joy joy I wish you were taking friend requests because I'm loving the gif's on your posts!
  • I've lost count on how many times I've 'started' at MFP but this time it's going to stick! welcome back!
