  • And on to the fitness/heath aspect. I recently lost about 35 pounds and was doing really well last year. This winter I felt a few pounds creeping back, so I started back today getting on track and eating clean. Wish me luck. I want to be fit for my spring riding!
  • Late to the party here! :) I just wanted to mention, cessi0909 that I have a bad ankle due to a break, and though it's not the same problem you are having, I would also recommend looking at the MDC Ultimate stirrups. Not only are they bendy, but you can rotate them to 45º or 90º. This helps me a lot. If I drop a stirrup, I…
  • Good job on the 20+ pounds!

  • ^^Buffy, you're doing awesome. And heck, new show clothes are fun. Costly, but fun! You go!
  • It's been a while since I posted here! I'll jump back in. Goal: to lose 31 pounds by May 30 Loss this year so far: 7 pounds. I'm really being vigilant about my logging on MFP, especially my food intake. I'm cutting most processed foods and as much sugar as possible. So far, so good! Happy 2016, all.
  • Thanks for the product review. :) Maybe I'll have to splurge and get one. Then I'll at least know how it works for Chico. For me, I'm lucky, riding doesn't bother my ankle. It's more anything that has any impact like walking, stepping, etc. I did end up joining Planet Fitness this week. I did two workouts so far. It's a…
  • Funny, I just got Back on Track hock boots for Chico. Maybe I should invest in a brace for me. Do you have one? Does it help? And can you wear shoes with it? :)
  • See, I'm not a morning person. I tend to wait till 8:00 or 9:00 p.m., but you're right, there are days I just skip it. :) I managed to workout last night for the first time in quite a while, so I was happy with that! So the T25 doesn't bother your ankle too badly? What is it like? Right now, I don't think I'm ready for…
  • That's a good start! I have been doing great diet wise, but I need to step up my workouts. What type of workouts have you been doing, Outtashape? I have my stationary bike, which is about the best thing I can do right now while still healing from ankle surgery. Walking hurts still. Luckily riding doesn't. :)
  • Hey, finally a friend, haha! Welcome, Outtashape. Glad to share stories and motivate. I have 12 more pounds to go for my goal. Let's do it. :)
  • Okay, my "ticker" disappeared. hmm. I think I'm at 43 pounds lost since we started this thing.
  • Okay, I know no one uses this site anymore, but I popped in to check. I will see if anyone on the forum wants to start using it again. But I was shocked to see that my weight loss is doing quite well from the start of this thing. Yay!
  • I haven't really checked in in a year. I had ankle surgery in March, and of course used that as an excuse to gain weight. But I've lost it all again, and I'm back on track to try to hit my goal by spring. Cheers! I would like to check in more often if anyone else does, too!
  • How is everyone doing with the holidays? So far, so good here. Made it through Thanksgiving and even lost a few this week. I started working out again, which I'm sure will help. 21 pounds to go.
  • I love sweets, too, element! I managed to get through Thanksgiving without a hitch. Last year was thought for me. I blame it on being I a leg cast through the holidays last year, but really, I just ate too much junk! I have about 21 pounds to go. I will get there. So will you. :)
  • Hope all is well with everyone. Thanksgiving is a challenge, but I've worked out both yesterday, Thanksgiving, and today, Friday, to help make up for the feast. :)
  • Okay, it's Friday! I need the pep talkers! I had a so-so week. I guess considering it was Halloween week, I did very well. Compared to last year, anyway. My issue is I need to be more dedicated to my exercise. Any tips? Just do it? :) Hope you all have a great weekend.
  • Dewey, glad you checked in. Why don't you commit to just one or two days of dedicated workouts for this week. Me, too. Surely I can commit to that. I haven't been doing dedicated workouts enough either, just barn chores and riding which I don't count. Those are a necessary bonus! Twentyfourpaw, Halloween is killer. I love…
  • Hi, all. I don't check in often, but I will try to check in more often. Maybe we can motivate each other. I'm doing well with my weight loss. Half way to my goal. My riding is already improving which is good. When I am heavier it is harder to balance. I'm sure my horse appreciates me being lighter, too!
  • Hi, all new members! I hadn't realized folks were using the Welcome board, as I always use the other one to check in and I've been the only one on there. I'll remember from now on to check both places. I've been on a mission to lose weight, to ride better. I'm halfway there. I've lost 29 so far and I have 28 pounds to go.…

  • Still working on it! Lost two more pounds, yay! This week I don't feel like I have a lot of motivation, but I will be sure to get in some exercise. I started PT for my shoulder today, which may be part of it. Hope everyone is doing well. Denise/paradoxFarm
  • Dewey, Sounds like you really are doing well. Don't short change yourself. Some weeks will always be tougher than others. I guess the trick is not to have one bad week and then say the heck with it, and give up. ;-) I will be away this week, but back by this weekend. Going to visit my mom for her 70th birthday in Michigan.…
  • Okay since it is Friday I am checking in again, even though I checked in yesterday. I will check back on Fridays! Good news, I rode the bike last night, and I lost a pound! Yay. Amazing how diet and exercise actually work. :). Hope you all are doing well! Stay active. :) Denise
  • Welcome, tnhamilton/hrsel! Let's keep this thing afloat. I can use the motivation. Sounds like you are doing an awesome job. That's wonderful! I'm on a good roll, too. I started getting serious toward the end of May this year. Ni looked at some pictures and freaked out how bad I looked, and I KNOW I ride better when I am…
  • Woohoo...lost another two pounds. Yay me. :). Hope you all are doing well out there. Hope someone checks in soon!!
  • Dewey, that sounds like an awesome routine. Good for you. Keep it up. That jumping rope will kick your butt in a good way! When we were in Portland we did a nine-mile bike ride and then on the same day we did an hour-long hike on Mt. Hood. Felt great. I need to keep it up here at home.
  • Okay maybe I can't count. Looks like 17 pounds. :)
  • Hi, SuperD and Dewey! Finally checking in. I'm getting back on track with health and fitness. Managed to drop 18 pounds since May. Still working on it. Lots to go.
  • Hey, Dewey. Sorry for the delayed response. I've been avoiding checking in since I'm doing so crapy still! Anyway, there is an online version of WW which you can try if you were interested. I am the type of person that needs to accountability of signing in at a meeting and weighing in each week. I do find the meetings…
  • Great job, Dewey!! I have had a few crappy weeks, so I am afraid to get on the scale. But I will start again tis week and get back on track. I am contemplating going back to weight watchers. I am a lifetime member, but I haven't been in years. I need to do something.
