Good work girl! Keep it up!

What amazing success! Congratulations :)

I have no issues with age gaps but I feel there are appropriate times in life for them and inappropriate times as well. In 10 years that 12 year gap means hardly anything but right now? Way too big. You are in COMPLETELY different phases of life. Now if you were 39 and she was 27? Go for it. 29 and 17 is just too…

It is very worth while finding several calorie calculator websites and do multiple and get an average or middle number. My gym elliptical tells me I burned 600 cals, MFP tells me 1100 for the same workout. Runtastic gives me a number in the middle which is about 850. I use the middle number. MFP I've found is either right…

I tried the smuckers sugar free.... It was so gross I've just cut my jam allowance to 1 time a week at most. More like twice a month. Not for the cals but trying to be more selective about sugar. :(

Wow holy crap girl! I too thought your 10 day was the end one before I saw that it said day 10. Awesome job!

Don't pick a goal weight pick a goal body fat percentage. fat2fitradio.com and do the military body fat percentage calc, then take that and do the ideal weight calc. It will figure out a weight based on current BF and goal BF. You can pick a lower number BF then pick a higher number (I think it's like 24-33%) to get a range

I only watched a couple episodes WAY back in season 1 of the show. I thought it would be inspirational to see these big people losing all this weight. Boy was I wrong. Seeing people work out till they puke is no more healthy than what got us fat in the first place. Secondly, I remember that the team that lost whatever…

Take a rest! I did 2 days and I hurt so bad I couldn't do it. One day after my rest I felt better enough to go back!

I WISH that eating 1000 cals made me feel like I was eating like a pig. Ugh. Really goes to show you the different perspectives out there....

Personally I'd rather run 5 12 minute miles than run 1 or 2 7-9 min miles. But for my case it's the elliptical. I can VERY nearly do a 15 minute mile (0.98) but I'm going at a pace I can't really sustain over my 45 minute work out. So I take the 3.8 to 3.9 mph pace but do it for 45 minutes.

I LOVE to have peanut butter and jam toast. It's kinda tricky but I actually spread the jam on top of the peanut butter. My husband totally sucks at doing it lol. Of course ever since I've been watching my sugar intake (trying to get diabetes back in check) I've more often than not just opted for peanut butter and skip the…

Yes you definitely need to fuel your body to have the energy. Vitamin D actually can help with energy too and at Costco/Sam's club you can get a 2 year supply of the 2,000 mg unit pills for like 8 dollars. I had a VERY low vit d and got on some 50k units to boost then went to the 2k and I've felt a lot better. Also, if…

Unless you're having a medical or mental issue that requires some medication for balancing out and that's keeping you down more than "normal", I hate to say it but usually you have to just get up and move. When I go to the gym I always am like I'm only committing to 20 minutes on this elliptical and if I want to go more…

This. I did some 30DS and it F*ING hurts! After two work outs I had to switch to a Leslie Sansone walk at home dvd and then the next day I felt better enough to go back to Jillian. That is one tough b**ch!
-
That I made it back to the gym today! Been sick for over a week! A big part of me still didn't want to go but I made it and I did something at least!

I suggest what others have suggested about measurements. It's a far more accurate gauge of progress. Also, this is new, and it sounds like you made a LOT of changes really FAST. Our bodies don't really like change, even if that change is for the better. Let it catch up. Also be careful not to burn yourself out doing it all…

BMI is not a good tool at all. It does not take into account your body frame. Body fat % is the measure of what weight you should be. You should work out your BF% and then decide where you want to be.
-
Every body is different, so how do you know you shouldn't be over 140? Have you worked out your body fat percentage? I'd like to aim more for that number than any specific number on the scale as it gives a better indicator of health. Like someone else said, eat closer to maintenance aiming for slower weight loss.

MFP gives me an allowance of 2500 cals a day to lose half a pound a week. If you have a lot to lose you should change your settings to that pronto. I tried having it at 2lbs loss and it failed for me because on days where I didn't work out I felt too restricted (1700 I think was my allowance). When you have a lot to lose,…

You have to do the military one. I accidently did the reg body fat calc and it told me my % was like 27%. I weigh over 300lbs. Not even close...

Btw, this calculator gave me a 1630 cals burned for my hour on the eliptical. MFP doesn't even estimate that high! Gave me same number for areobics though as runtastic.
-
Have little experience with it but personally I like runtastic's website. The elliptical tells me 600 cals burned, MFP tells me 1200 cals burned, runtastic tells me 900 cals burned. Right in the middle. Better than grossly under or overestimating.

With only 30lbs to lose, being relatively close to goal, you should probably expect that there will be some weeks that the scale will not move at all. I think that tracking things like body measurements and bodyfat% and other non scale things is a better approach at the point you're at and the motivating factor to be that…

I believe that they say a pound a week is healthy weight loss (you can lose more if you're very overweight) so I'd say a realistic goal would be more like 20lbs.

Nice to know she says to take a day or two off! lol. I actually think I may feel up to doing it tomorrow. Legs are doing a little better today. I did the Leslie video instead and still was quite a good work out so I feel good about that :)

Personally I'm keeping one pair of jeans that were the pair I bought several years ago, the biggest I could get at lane bryant, and they were still tight enough that I wasn't that comfortable in them so I wore sweats for a long time, and finally somewhere down the road I got into them comfortable and now they are too big.…
