Don't give up hope - it's normal. Someone has written a wonderful, detailed post on all the what and why of it, but I failed to bookmark the link for reference to questions like this. The short version: It's perfectly normal for some initial weight gain when introducing a new exercise regimen. The new forms of physical…

Garlic - I use it in easily half (probably a lot more than that) of every dish that I cook. Basil Black pepper - kinda basic, but it really does make such a huge taste difference. I've drastically cut my salt usage down as my pepper usage has increased. Onion And above all else, my personal kitchen wouldn't be complete…

"..........................................................." Yep, first and only blind date. I went to a New Year's Eve party with some friends in high school. The girl never even said "Hello." We were there for hours and the trio of girls (our "dates") kept shifting rooms every time we walked in. The three of us who were…

Puckering up, but no takers so far. My co-workers are a little uncomfortable, now. Maybe I should put my pants back on.

Pink. Hands down. Skin tone and the ink rock with the contrast.

Starting note: GPS tracking recommendation only from me - I can't speak to the HRM part (I don't use one), though my watch supports linking one available from the same vendor. +1 for the Garmin 410. I bought it because I got tired of using my phone to track my running events or training. The GPS tracking is fantastic and…

I haven't completely scrapped my wardrobe, but I did finally break down and buy some new jeans. The "skinny" jeans I'd held onto for ages finally got to the point that I could just slip them off if I wasn't wearing a belt. ...On that note, I had to buy some new belts, too. One too many new holes punched in my old ones…

Every. Single. Race. They usually outpace me over time, but damn it's good motivation while you can keep up.

Always love it. Well, except for the Flying Pig Marathon this year. One guy was dressed up with pig ears, a squiggly tail and little wings. Amusing the first time he passed a group of spectators and yelled "Oink!" at maximum volume. But since we were running at about the same pace, I wanted to stuff the ears down his…

Definitely. Every race I'm in, I know I'm only there to finish, not to win.

Not a date if it's not pre-designated as such. Especially with a co-worker who might be willing to grab lunch just based upon the shared social aspect of working in the same environment. Trying to turn it into a date scenario when it wasn't defined that way in advance = creepy. </2cents> As for the song. Honestly can't…

Ah. 0% then, in my case. All of her exercise was via roller derby.

As a spectator, my ex-wife would go to every race that she could, with the exception of work days. She had a job that often had her working Saturdays, so there were many overlaps. That said, I'm convinced that some of my PRs were reached because I knew that she was waiting for me at the finish line.

+1 for Podrunner (DJSteveboy). The beats per minute (BPM) tracks are usually in the 1-hour duration range. I've achieved my best event/race times using these tracks over the last couple of years. Good luck on the half!

Most people tend to stick with an even split for the 30 days. 10 days at each level. There have also been multiple people who will go back to doing the program after they've completed it in which they mix it up (some days Level 1, some days 2 or 3), or add it as part of a modified program with other exercises on other…
